Aew Dynamite Review 29.3.2024

My apology

I'm not starting this weeks review off with an intro, instead i'm starting with an apology, for the lack of reviews this week. It's due to scheduling in my day job, and the fact that I was inspired to do a differant piece all together, which will be published tomorrow. This will happen from time to time, but not very often.

Will Osperay vs Katsuyori Shibata

This. Was a perfect opening Match, and a great way to start the show. I could sit here and go through the Match, move by move, but that would not do it justice. The contrast in life from over the past 7 years is something to behold, when it comes to these two warriors, from family life, to life threatening injuries, all of that combined to make this, a viscerile, physical, move by move, game of chess, that saw Osperay come away with the win. Bryan Danielson, then had a promo video air after this. Which added a sense of drama, and excitement, to their Match at Dynasty. All of this was excellent.

Renee Paquette Young bucks segment and Match against Private Party

Renee Paquette Interviewed The Young Bucks, from righting wrongs, referencing a certain ice cream bar loving chick magnet, to giving Alex Mahvez the week off, by the looks of it. I love their heel personas, as they continue to make me laugh. Okada then turned in a sweet looking red Ferrari. Their Match against Private Party followed next. And it was a well worked. Quarter final in the. Tag Team Tournament. From paying shade to second edition of Dynamite, Brother Zay taking a nasty looking falcon arrow, from off of a barricade. from Nick Jackson. Zay later on hit a moonsault on Nick Jackson. that looked awesome. The near falls were awesome. The shenanigans with the ring bell were fun. And. The Bucks got the win thanks to this. I had a lot of fun watching this at 8am in the morning. Good stuff all round.

Darby Allin and Tony Hawk segment

Darby Allin and skateboarding icon. Tony Hawk, advertised. Tony's charity, and. Tony did a plate off of Darby's broken foot. Only. Darby Allin could pull this off.

Hook and Jericho segment

Ok. I'm going to level this with you guys. This. Was bad. And it left me with one thing in mind. I hope their not a tag team. Patrick you've now just brought it into existance. See you in nine months Hook, when you've escaped the Jericho midcard vortex.

4 way match womens no1 Contendership for the TBS Championship

Willow Nightingale, beat. Anna Jay. Kris Statlander, and. Skye Blue, to become the no1 contender for Julia Harts TBS Championship. The Match was excellent, had plenty of time to breathe, and allowed all four women, to have multiple energetic bursts, which put over the physicality of the Match. Mercedes Mone was on commentary through out this, and if i'm being honest. I don't think she added much to this. But it didn't ruin my enjoyment. The Match was excellent.

Dustin Rhodes segment

Renee Paquette Interviewed. Dustin Rhodes, that was until The Butcher entered stage left. They had a humerous promo dual. Rhodes said that he was not going to be The Butchers stepping stone. Which left me thinking. Rhodes is a fan of awful ninties pop music, performed badly by a couple of geordies.

Toni Storm segment

Toni storm paid a visit to TCM, and had an awkward back and forth with. Ben Malcowicz. I liked this.

Orange Cassidy and Trent Barretta vs Mike Bennett and Matt Taven

Compared to its counterpart earlier on in the evening. This didn't match up that well. It wasn't bad at all. I just thought that the first Quarter final was better. The physicality was sharp, and the action flowed nicely. Trent, and. Orange came away with the win, thanks to. Chuck Taylor. Also. Isn't it nice to see Kyle O'reilly back on our screens.

Swerve Strickland vs Konosuke Takeshista

This. Was. An excellent main event. With the winner facing Samoa Joe at Dynasty for the Aew world Championship. From respect to mutual distain, the awkward feeling out process. Joe watching backstage, the immense physicality, that sold the violence of the Match. to the excellent exchanges, that led to the superb finish, that saw Swerve get the win. All of this was excellent, and acted as a great way to send the show off the air. Joe cut a promo beforehand, saying that he will see Swerve next, for their contract signing. I f****** loved all of this.

Overview Of Aew Dynamite

Over the past few months, some fans online have been saying, that the feeling, and the power is back in Aew. I don't necessarily agree, yes the shows have been steller, but. Aew have a long way to go, in order to get their own version of the promiseland, however. This. Weeks Dynamite was awesome. from the in ring action, to the promise of what lies ahead. Aew is coming people, and it's great to see.

This weeks Dynamite is a solid 9/10.

Aew Dynamite Review

Intro

With this coming April acting as a hot spot for PLE's. and. PPv's. You could be mistaken when thinking, that major companies are spoiling us, and you'd be right, with. Wrestlemania on the horizon. TNA Rebellion, and. Aew Dynasty just two weeks after that, say it with me, sometimes it's good to be a wrestling fan.

Tony Schiavone interviews Mercedes Mone

The Broadcast started with Tony Schiavone interviewing Mercedes Mone, in the centre of the ring, she spoke about how she missed the fans, and how this could all have been taken away from her. She then played a video, highlighting her own importance, and her success, from needing to be here, major setbacks, to her major return, she is here, not to start a revolution, but to kick start a global revolution, after she said that, the lights go out, and when they come back on. Skye Blue attacked her from behind. Julia Hart, who was on the rampway got involved. Both women got taken out by the C.E.O. Willow Nightingale, and. Kris Statlander, came out to make the save, but, what was interesting from all of this, was the potential heel tease of Willow Nightingale, who stood behind mercedes with a steel chair, ready to take her head off. Later on in the show, when talking about their Street Fight with the boomed pair. Statlander praised Mercedes, for helping Willow last week, but. Willow got snubbed, which led to Stokeley Hathaway putting his foot in his mouth, oh Stokeley, will you ever learn. Plus can I have more of him on my TV please.

Alex Mahvez The Elite Segment Followed by Kingston and Okada Match

Alex Mahvez really needs to respect the hands that feed him. The Elites treatment of him has become one my favourite things in wrestling, from having to wish Matthew a happy birthday last week, and now having to learn Okadas native tongue for next week. The Bucks told Okada, that they would be producing his Match from the back area. Kazuchuika Okada vs Eddie Kingston, for the Continental Crown followed, and it was a solid outing for both men. It started out as a lowfi burner, that turned into a bonfire, with the wood being dependible, and both mens passion starting the fire. This. Was a perfectly booked window, into how a TV Match should be booked, and a marvel to watch from a fans stand point. Okada became the new Continental Crown Champion, after hitting Kingston with a Rainmaker. I loved all of this. Plus those backstage shots of The Bucks, and those. Tony Khan cameos were a nice touch.

Renee Paquette Swerve Strickland and squash Match with The Butcher

Renee Paquette Interviewed. Swerve Strickland. From the embarrassment of Revolution, to his desire to still want to win the Aew Championship. This led to him making an open challenge for later in the evening, in which he beat. The Butcher in a squash Match. What happened next was a minor promotrain. Swerve cut a promo on Samoa Joe. Joe came out and cut promo on Swerve, claiming to give him what he wants, which led to. Damn it Don Callis, coming out and laying out the challenge, for him to face Konosuke Takeshista next week, and after Swerve is done with him, he is coming for Joe. This was way to convoluted.

Hook vs Chris Jericho

I didn't like any this. Hook beat Jericho in a Match that allowed Hook to take most of the offence, this explains Jericho in 2024, his act has become stale, boring, and unoriginal. Some would say, this is how you make new stars, except that. Hook has been on the roster since 2021, this could be damaging for Hook, and now he seems to be getting pulled, even further into the Jericho midcard vortex. Jericho will meet with him next week.

Adam Cole Segmant

Alright children gather round, because, it's storytime with Adam Cole Bay Bay. He spoke of his disapointment from last week, when. Wardlow lost. Adams. I mean. Wardlows title shot. Wardlow is now a marked man.

Will Osperay segment

Tony Schiavone interviewed Will Osperay in the centre of the ring. I loved all of this, from the throw back to the last time he was in Canada, landing Kenny Omega on his head, which led to him appologising for being a naughty boy, but, ne wants something in return, maple syrup. He wasted no time in calling out. Bryan Danielson for his promo last Saturday on Collision. Will excelled here, as he blasted through all of his accomplishments in Japan, to the personal responsibilities he faces at home, the study in contrast between both men, he got over his admiration of Danielsons Match against Shibata, and will now face him next week, This. Was fire in all the right areas.

Toni Storm and Marieh May vs Deonna Purrazzo and Thunder Rosa

Deonna Purrazzo, and. Thunder Rosa, beat. Toni Storm, and. Marieh May in a decent TV Match, that the fans really got into. I have to say. I like having Thunder Rosa back on TV.

Adam Copeland vs Christian Cage I Quit TNT Championship

This. Was f****** awesome. This. Was the battle of the Toronto battle boys, from Christian getting launched into a penalty box, Both men becoming advertisers for the NHL wearing local teams merch. They thought in the stands, the merch area, and, well um, the ladies room, yeah I don't know what about moment. The ladder spots called back to their history perfectly, the table spots were imaginative, and helped turn this Match, into a bloodsoaked war. Christian insulting the fans in Toronto, led to his downfall, Moma Wayne, and the rest of The Patriarchy got involved, from shenanigans revolving around an attempt, of a barbwire steel chair concerto, Killswitch. Nick Wayne. All got hancuffed to the ropes, whilst Moma Wayne ran away like the jezzabelle that she is. Daniel Garcia, and. Daddy Magic helped handcuff Nick, and Christian to the ring. Copeland then took full advantage of this, with help fron his wirey friend spike. Christian took a shot to the nuts, and on the second one, was forced to say I quit. Which means we have a new Aew TNT Champion. Adam Copeland.

Overview Of Aew Dynamite

This. Was a solid episode of weekly TV, the promos flowed nicely, and the in ring work, went from poor, to solid. I had a blast watching this at 7.30am.

This weeks Dynamite is a solid 8/10.

Monday Night Raw Review 19. 3. 2024 

Intro

I have to say. I'm enjoying both Companies TV output at the minute, from Rock concerts igniting a spark in fans, to Mone being made in spades on the otherside. Man at this moment in time, it's exciting to be a wrestling fan.

Jey Uso Segment

I liked all of this. Jey came out and wasted no time in calling out his twin. Jimmy came out with Solo, and the pair had a fantastic stairdown, and promo dual. Jey put over how he misses his brother, and tells him to come back. Jimmy told him that, he has always been their, and took credit for all of Jeys accomplishments. Jey then said that the biggest moment of his career will be, when he beats the yeeeeeeeeet out of his older brother. A fight brpke out between the two. Jey almost took a beatdown, and was saved by Cody Rhodes. Jey, and. Cody had a small segment later on. Jey told Cody if he needs him on Friday, he's there.

6 pack challenge qualifiers

All of the 6 pack challenge Matches on tonights show, were a study in contrast. DIY vs The Crede Brothers was decent. Awesome Truth vs Indu Sheer, was shockingly bad, and. The New Day vs The Alpha Academy, was a thing. The New Day. DIY, and. The Awesome Truth, all advanced to the 6 pack challenge at Mania. 

The Judgement Day segment

The Judgement Day, were backstage giving Andrade style advice. I thought this was hilarious, because. I started singing the lyrics to. The Stone Roses. This is the one, because. Finn Balor looked a teenager from 90s, on his way to Spike Island. Damien Priest played the blame game with Jd Mcdonagh. And later on. The Human Oven was beaten in a Match against Ricochet, later on in the evening.

Kayden Karter and Katana Chance vs Candace Lerae and indi Hartwell

Candace Lerae, and. Indi Hartwell, beat Kayden Karter, and. Katana Chance, in a flat, and pointless Match. This made me question my life decisions.

Cody Rhodes Segment

I loved this segment. Cody's fire is infectious, from start to finish. This. Was. Great. He got over the importance of Mania, in just under 3 weeks. He called Dwayne's Instagram promo out, by saying he isn't a heel, he's an asshole, whilst pulling back the curtain on this industry, calling him a pr merchant,  calling the TKO board a bunch of yes men. And. The Rock, a bad salesman, and a whiny Bitch, and. Roman, is his bit on the side. He talked about Dwayne's mum, and calls her a standout woman, whilst. Codys mum is a gangster. I mean an undercover cop. He claimed that Dwayne is not the final boss, because he has. LDS. ( little dick syndrome ) Paul Heyman came out, apologised for his actions a few weeks ago, when. Cody took out a bunch of security. Cody didn't want an apology. Paul told him, that he has his word, that. The Bloodline, will not be at Smackdown, when. Cody meets Roman, face to face. This means, that. Cody, must come alone. He agreed to this.

Sami Zayn segment and contract signing

Sami Zayn then had a backstage segment with Chad Gable, who did his best Ross from Friends impersonation, because he's fine. This led to the best segment of the night. Sami Zayn and Gunthers contract signing, for the IC Championship at Mania. Gunther started off the proceedings, by attacking sami's dress sense, putting over his own self belief. Sami talked through his history, with fire, and conviction, whilst. Gunther played on Zayns doubt. Sami gave Gunther both barrels to end the segment. WWE's production here was awesome, as the camera followed him to the back, he later found Chad Gable, and. Chad put him straight, saying that he can't beat Gunther. This. Was excellent.

Drew Mcintyre segment

This. Was. Another great segment. Drew tried to make his entrance, but was Interrupted by. Seth Freakin Rollins. This. pissed off the scotsman. Seth welcomed us to Monday Night Rollins. Drew was interested in any of this, and told the visionary, to get on with it. Seth admitted to being a spotlight junkie, the fans chanted junkie, and Drew told Seth, that he is a punchline, he went on to insult Cm Punk, as seth's his addiction to being in this industry intensified, he spoke with passion, and grace, when talking about doing double duties, over both nights of Wrestlemania. Drew pulled on their hardwork, saying that he has earnt his place on the card at Mania, whilst Seth made Drew look like a complainer, after having to drag the company through the warehouse days of the pandemic. Seth flipping the script was excellent. He ended it by saying drew could not hang with him.

Becky Lynch vs Nia Jax last woman standing

I had a blast watching this main event, from the chairs, tables, ladders, and kendo sticks spots. Nia Jax landing awkwardly on the ring apron, and nearly taking me back to the best time in the pandemic. Becky took a nasty samoan drop onto some chairs. Becky gave Nia a Bulldog off a chair, and onto the same chairs. Becky but Nia through a table, with a manhandle slam, and then got the win, when she dropped a leg drop onto Nia, putting her through the announcers table. I had a lot of fun watching. This. Was a great way to end the show, as Mami. Rhea Ripley came to look at the carnage.

Overview Of Monday Night Raw

I had a lot of fun watching this weeks Monday Night Raw, the in ring action went from good, to bad, and the segments were excellent.

This weeks Monday Night Raw is a solid 8/10.

Smacklillision Weekened Round Up 15. 3. 2024

Intro

With the wrestling worlds media decending on Philadelphia, in over 3 weeks time for Wrestlemania, it's got me thinking about the build. If you take all the Cody. Roman, and. The Rock stuff, and put it to one side, the build has been decent, not great, but good, I have enjoyed most of WWE's tv output this month. The swerve that WWE claimed to have pulled, to me, wasn't a swerve, the plans for some of my mates, entails getting on a flight from the UK, whilst mine will mean staying up until 5.30am, with multiple energy drinks in my system, oh well. I guess that's life.

Smackdown

The Rocks Rock Concert

Ok. I'm going to level it with you. In over 30 years of being a wrestling fan. I have never been lost for words. Until now that is. This segment was everything that I wanted and more. It went from good times fun, hilarious moments, to down right sinister. This. Was perfect. I'm not going to do a standard review for this, because you need to see it for yourself. All I have to say is. You're welcome.

Tag Team Title Match qualifiers

Both of the Tag Team Title Qualifiers, did not come back to back, but in terms of quality, they may as well have done. Angel, and. Humberto vs The Lwo was a flat TV Match, and. The New Catch Republc vs Pretty Deadly, followed the same pattern, later on in the evening. Angel, and. Humberto, and. The New Catch Republic, advanced to the the Match at Mania.

Kayla Braxton and LA Knight

Kayla Braxton tried to interview LA Knight ( yeeeeeeeaaaaaa ) on the ramp. Knight cut a blistering promo on AJ Styles, he said that he wants to humble him, he called him a mark, and challenged him to a Match at Mania. AJ came out and attacked the megastar, and accepted his challenge.

Nick Aldis and Logan Paul segment

Logan Paul went into Nick Aldis's office, and said that he wants an apology from. Randy Orton, ( that ain't happening ) for last week, and to know who he will be facing at Mania. Aldis told him that he would get back to him later.

Grayson Waller vs Randy Orton

Randy Orton, beat. Grayson Waller, in a flat, but fun TV Match, it did feel a bit formulaic for my liking, but. Logan on commentary was funny though, Kevin Owens came out to put a beating on Grayson, and. Nick Aldis told Logan, that he will defend his United States Championship against. Randy Orton, and. Kevin Owens in a triple threat Match at Mania. Now that looks tasty.

Santos Escobar vs Dragon Lee

Santos Escobar, beat. Dragon Lee, in a fun, and fast paced short little Match. Lee was beaten down in the aftermath. Carlito came out, but because of the numbers game, he was taken out, this led to Rey Mysterio coming out, and challenged him to a Match, next week on Smackdown.

Bayley vs Dakota Kai

And then came our main event. And then it went at the same time, the Match was thrown when the rest of Damage Ctrl got involved. Ok. I don't like cursing, when it comes to main events, but this was f****** awful, and a terrible way to send the show off the air.

Aew Collision

Bryan Danielson vs Katsuyori Shibata

This. Was a dream Match, set phasers to holys***, because this was a physical masterclass, filled with intricate details. Danielson got the win by submission, and then cut a brilliant promo later on in the evening, on Will Osperay, which was awesome, and cut to the point perfectly.

Julia Hart vs Trish Adora TBS Championship Match

Julia Hart, beat. Trish Adora, in a standard TV womens Match, to retain her championship. With the Match being held under house rules, Julia won the right to be at ringside in the. Tag Team Tournament wild card Match, later on in the evening.

Zac Knight segment

Zac Knight then answered Angelo Parkers challenge for a match, he refused it. Angelo later on the show answered back, but. Ruby Soho put a stop to that. See guys that's what a good woman can do.

Pac vs Aaron Solo

Pac destroyed Aaron Solo in a squash Match, and then cut a promo on Tony Khan, saying that he is looking for trouble, umm. Pac, mate. Cm Punk works for WWE now.

Claudio Castagnoli vs Lance Archer

This. Was a boring farce of a TV Match, that was thrown into chaos, when. The Rightgeous got involved. Danielson, and. Shibata made the save. I was bored stiff watching this.

Kyle Fletcher vs Brian Keith

Kyle Fletcher, beat. Brian Keith on his return, after a 2 year hiatus due to injury. I'm not going to do a standard review for this Match, because I feel that the emotion of the moment would get lost in the echo. I'm a 36 year old man, who is 6f 11, and as a result of that, I have had several issues with my back, but nothing to the point of needing major surgery. So for someone to come back after 2 years away, is nothing short of incredible.

Buddy Matthews and Brody King vs The Infantry

This Match had no right to be as awesome as it was, but it surpassed my expectations. This. Was an enjoyable watch, filled with good near falls, and solid physicality, and. Mark Briscoe having some fun with a steel chair. The reprosentitives of. The House Of Black move forward into the. Tag Team Eliminator Tournament with the win.

Adam Copeland Segment

I loved this ending segment, it was vital, viscerile, and it and gave an unsatisfactory answer, to last weeks big question, what was in Copelands box, that terrified Christian Cage? The answer was a 2 by 4 of barbwire. The cut a direct down the lens promo, about how he has earned his way back to the TNT Championship, after taking a phonecall from Mrs Foleys baby boy, who reminded him, just who he is, and on wednesday, when everything is over. Christian Cage's title reign will be over, when he says the words. I Quit.

Overview Of The Weekend

I have to say this weekends shows, had their moments, but overall, they were flat, by the standards of up and coming PPV's.

    This weeks Smackdown Is an ok 6/10 .

       And Aew Collision was a decent 7/10.   

Aew Dynamite Big Business Review 14.3.2024

Intro

With Aew's next PPV just five weeks away, at the time of writing, i'm starting to feel that things are starting to come together, for. Tony Khans little promotion that can. With the promise of dream Matches coming back to TV, and. PPV's. I have to say, that I like the way TK is handling things so far, given how poorly received most of 2023 was, because just like the city of Springfield. Aew is a town on the grow.

Renee Paquette segment

Renee Paquette kicked off the show, that was complete with an excellent back drop of Boston, the camera then cut to her, as a Rolls Royce pulled up. You don't see who it is, but It's clear who it is. Mercedes Mone.

Mercedes Mone

The Camera cut to inside the arena, to an already hot crowd, the entrance music of C.E.O echoed throughout the arena from the pa system, as. Mercedes Mone made her Aew debut. I loved all of this, her emotion was written all over her face, she spoke from the heart, and thanked the fans, for being by her side, she put over what the industry means to her, from giving her belief, and hope, to achieving her dreams, she put over her hero Eddie Guerro, and told the fans, that she can't wait to tear up, and start another womens revolution. She said that she has unfinished with. Willow Nightingale, and she will be watching her main event later on in the evening. This. Was brilliant, and a great signing for Aew. This. Is how you help bring a company back to the foreland. Osperay. Okada, and now. Mone. Is the feeling back, well, no, but this is a strong sign, that things are going to be awesome, as we head into the middle of this year.

Samoa Joe vs Wardlow Aew Championship

I liked all of this. It was, two big meaty men, doing big meaty things. This acted as a perfect balance, of styles meshing together. The Promos beforehand, were a cool study in contrast, from powerful, to greed. These two big pieces of heavy machinery went to war. The Match had great physicality, and worked well given both mens history, with each other. Joe retained his belt by submission, putting his former tag partner in the cahuna clutch, for the win. Swerve Strickland then came out, complete with a chain. Joe left the ring laughing his ass off. The security that swerve strickland decked, are useless, they're just as bad as. Tottenham's back four. Yes i'm an Arsenal supporter.

Alex Mahvez and The Elite segmet and Trios Match

I loved this segment. Alex Mahvez interviewed The Eilte. As he started the segment, The Elite turned up behind him on an elevator, which popped me massively. From Mahvez not giving them the respect they deserve. Okada calling out. Pac. Kingston, and. Penta, before their following trios Match. And Mahvez having to sing happy birthday to Matt Jackson, he looked so happy having to do that little Job. Their Trios Match against. Pac. Kingston, and. Penta followed, and It was great. Okada vs Kingston. Pac vs Okada. The Elite turning this into a partial 3 on 1 beat down. Kingston giving Okada, a few slaps, to the Rainmaker punishing Kingston with that move for the win, I'm loving the heel Elite at the moment, it's made their act fresh, and has given Matthew, and. Nicholas, a fresh look at life, in the company they helped build.

Christian Cage and Adam Copeland promo

We then got a promo for next weeks I quit Match, for the. TNT Championship, between. Christian Cage, and. Adam Copeland. I can't wait to see Mother Wayne's face, when. Nicks new daddy loses his belt, and his s***.

Will Osperay segment

This. Was f****** awesome from the viscerile start, to the earth grinding finsish. Will talked to Tony Schiavone in the centre of the ring, the fans were on side from the start chanting bruv, from the start. From the emmulation of Brian Danielsons career, to talking about the aftermath of his Match against Kenny Omega. Which cemented this Match into existance. Because, he hasn't restored the feeling, because he is the feeling. His name is Will Osperay, and he has no plans on dying. I don't think, that I have to say anything else, this was pure majestic brilliance.

Deonna Purazzo segment

Deonna Purrazzo then threatened to shove. Toni Storms shoe up her arse, now that's going to be one smelly shoe.

Jay White vs Darby Allin

The only thoughts that ran through my mind after this were boohoo, the. Bang Bang Scissor Gang are done, and that. Darby has no back, the Match was crazy, from. Darby taking out White, with a moonsault followed by tope superceda, Jay launched Darby over the steel steps, ( kind of ) and then punished his chest afterwards. The Sting throwbacks were nice to see. Darby then took a nasty bump on the ring apron, that led to the finish. White got the win. And then the writing was on the wall for the. Bang Bang Scissor Gang, The Gunns and White tried to put a beating Darby. The Acclaimed came out to make the save. Jay, attacked Daddyass with a chair, whilst. The Gunns took out. The Acclaimed, Which meant that Darby was easy pickings, this was a good way to write Darby off from TV. Mount Everest waits next for that crazy nutter.

Chris Jericho and Hook vs The Gates Of Agony

LionHook, beat. The Gates Of Agony, in a flat and boring TV Match, and were beaten down in the aftermath. Hook and Jericho, will face each other next week, oh boy. If you can't tell, I was being sarcastic.

Kyle O'reilly segment

Kyle O'reilly then a had an Interview with Renee Paquette. He then said that he will face Brian Keith Collision this Saturday. I don't think he needs Roderick Strong. Strong needs him.

 Willow Nightingale vs Riho

A womens Match In the main event slot, no, that can't be, but it is, and it was the right move to make, the Match had fans on side from the start, and both women were given time to showcase their physicality. The final exchange saw Willow get the win, with a Dr Bomb powerbomb, but just a few seconds later, the lights went out, and when they came back on. Julia Hart was stood on the rampway, allowing Skye Blue to attack Nightingale. Mercedes Mone came out to make the save, as the show went off the air. Willow raising Mercedes hand, was a class act to see.

Overview Of Aew Dynamite Big Business

From all of the cards being put in place, to the promise of the future, this was a great show of weekly TV, and an enjoyable watch.

Mondat Night Raw Review 12.3.2024

Intro

As I sit here on a cold and rainy Tuesday morning. I sit here thinking to myself, could things get any worse for the WWE pr department? Last night, around 10.30.pm UK time, more details came out, to do with executives that had their names hidden in the Janel Grant lawsuit. And all i have to say is this. If this is true, then all involved need to named and shamed. The lack of care and dudiligence, that. WWE have shown in the past, is nothing less than shocking, and deeply upsetting. Even at the time writing these are just allegations. It still sickens me to my core. Talk, listen and learn, and believe survivors.

Drew Mcintyre segment

Drew Mcintyre kicked off the show, taking shots at Seth Rollins, and Cm Punk. by calling Seth selfish, and having an agenda, when Drew mentioned Punk, he was nearly drowned out by the fans chanting for Punk, he spoke about the relevance of the bigger picture, and gives fans a lesson in history, which examplified the phrase. Then. Now, and. Forever. He called Cody a liar, and said that the world does revolve around Seth, because the future, and. Seths belt belongs to him. Seth comes out, and tells the scotsman to shut up, and asks for another claymore, after last week getting laid out by Drew. Seth called Drew, a coward. Drew told Seth, that he was right to forget about. The Bloodline, by begging and pleading with him. Seth told Drew, that he sounded like an ice cream loving hypocrite, and an hounary member of. The Bloodline. Both. Seth, and. Drew, got over the urgence of both nights of Mania. Seth promised to retain, by giving Drew a stomp into the mat, because. Drew stopped the fans from singing Seth's song. Drew walked out, but. Seth pulled him back in, by telling him, that he is at the bottom of the barrel, when it comes to the rest of his worries, from. Dwayne to injuries. Drew continued to walk away. I loved all of this, and it was a great way to start the show.

Becky Lynch vs Liv Morgan

I liked all of this. The Match was given plenty of time to breathe, and the story of, anything you can do, I can do better, was the benchmark of the storythread. Becky got the win, and later on, both ladies got decked by Nia Jax, which left Becky to challenge her to a last women standing Match next week. Becky, and. Rhea, had a great promo dual, that has left very excited for their Mania Match.

Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis segment

Adam Pearce, and. Nick Aldis then had a big announcement, and it centred around the Tag Team Championships, their is going to be a 6 pack challenge, and the winner winners will face. Damien Priest, and. Finn Balor, they were not best pleased, so they went to complain to Adam Pearce, like a pair of Karens. They wanted a Match against Awesome Truth, but only one of them was their, and of course it was R Truth. Priest got his wish, and later beat Truth in a solid TV Match, that had no right to as good, as what it turned out to be, plus could Andrade join the group.

Indi Hartwell and Candace Lerae vs Ivy Nile and Maxine Dupri

I hated all of this. It felt like it was just their, and a thing to be glossed over. Lerae, and. Hartwell got the win, but one thing I will leave you guys with is this, girl on girl bullying should not be potrayed on TV, when one of the companies former female executives, could be under investigation for miss conduct. All of this was poorly handled.

Michael Cole and Cody Rhodes segment

I loved all of this, from. Cody's pure emotion in his words, to his believibility. As I watched this segment, the one thing that rang true to me was, the fact that Mania means a lot this year, than in recent memory, from the slap heard around the world for the second time, the hints that Seth could turn on Cody. To the footage that could see a new direction for Cody's story. He put over the importance of family, and embraced Michael Cole, to end the segment. This. Was excellent. Don't you just love when thrones get smashed.

Kabuki Warriors vs Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark

The Kabuki Warriors, retained their. WWE Womens Tag Team Championships, by beating. Shayna Baszler, and. Zoey Stark. In a flat, and, boring TV Match.

Jey Uso segment

Ok. I'm going to get to it. Jey Uso called out his brother for a Match at Wrestlemania. This. Will be emotional.

The Gauntlet Match

Then came the main event. A Gauntlet Match, to decide who will face Gunther, for the IC tilte at Mania. This. Was an electric barn burner, from the fast paced that started things off, with. Ricochet, and. JD Mcdonagh, Bronson Reid balancing things out. Sami Zayn showcasing, what real fighting spirit means. Shinsuke Nakamura, and. Sami turning back the years, and. Chab Gable and Zayn having Match stealing performances, with their excellent exchanges. Sami got the win, and will now face. Gunther at the show of shows for the IC Championship. This. Is a contender for TV Match of the year. And I loved every second of it, well done to all involved. Gunther came out to overlook his next competitor, as. Chad Gable looked emotionally drained.

Overview Of Monday Night Raw

This. Was a great episode of weekly TV, and a fantastic set up for what is to come down the line.

Smackllision Weekend Round Up

Intro

After watching a great week of pro wrestling action, from an emotional goodbye, to an awesome debut. I find myself now having to talk about the side of the business, that should not be a thing in our year of 2024. On Friday. WWE released their latest in their 2k videogame series, With. Cody Rhodes taking the main cover for the standard edition, whilst. Rhea Ripley, and. Bianca Belair, got the special edition cover, some fans didn't like it due to bianca being over pushed, whilst the more disgraceful side of the internet attacked her ethnicity. I don't know what to say. If you think she's over booked then fine, but it's not ok to attack someone, for what they believe in, or what they look like, as a 36 year old man, who grew up with learning issues. I learnt some vital life lessons. Treat people with dignity and respect, and to have a sense of self awareness, when it comes to intolerence, people aren't robots, we all have feelings, which is what makes us human. So to be human, we have to act human. It's really not that difficult.

All four men in our main event segment, were seen showing up to the arena, flanked by security, this would act as a episode long story thread.

Logan Paul segment

I liked all of this, from the high points of Logans Mania run so far, the dreaded WHAT chant, and. Logan basking in his own achievements, he hyped up WWE's big business deals, incuding that his drink Prime, being the official drink for WWE, and will feature on the canvas on every PLE from Mania onwards, he brought in his business partner Ksi, the pair tried to do their best Edge and Christian impersonation, by attempting a 5 second pose, that was interrupted by. Randy Orton, by creeping up behind them, he attcaked them both, and then placed Ksi over the Prime advertisement.

Kevin owens and Randy Orton vs Austin Theory and Grayon Waller

I thought this Match was fairly boring, it felt lifeless, and weak, Waller mocked Orton, and paid for it. Randy, and. Kevin got the win with a awesome looking, pop up pwerbomb, they were then attacked, by that Prime drinking goon. Logan Paul, who tried to have fun with brass knucks, but. Randy got them off of him, and nearly smacked Kevin by accident. I see what WWE are trying to do, but the execution so far has been poor.

Bayley segment with Kayla Braxton

Bayley then had a sit down segment with Kayla Braxton. I hated all of this. It verged on being unwatchable, Bayleys dialogue was pathetic, and made her look like an undearable chump, and not a babyface. This. Was counteracted later on by Dakota Kai, and the rest of Damage Ctrl, which was also poor.

Bobby Lashley vs Karrion Kross

Ok. I'm going to attempt to review this, because it was f****** pointless, the Match was thrown out after the AOP got involved. The Street Profits made the save, and B Fab slapped Scarlett. This. Was a mess.

Dragon Lee and Legado Delfantasma segment and Match

The Segment that saw Legado Delfantasma bully Dragon Lee, brought WWE's hypocritical sence, that has echoed throughout the years of them being on TV, and the Match that saw, Lee, beat. Angel, was a decent TV Match, but it offered nothing, and left me scratching my head, questioning my life choices. Lee got the win by roll up, and was beaten down by Legado in the aftermath. The Lwo came out to make the save, but it was to late. Yeah, this was also poor.

Tiffany Stratton vs Michin

Tiffany Stratton, beat. Michin, in a solid outing. I have to say I like how WWE are booking Tiffany Stratton, yes it's predictable, but it's also good character building, and something that she can learn from.

The Bloodline Segment

Well you know what they say, you always save the best for last, because, my god this was good. From. The Rocks entrance enhancing his pressents, to the fans chanting Rocky, he told the fans in Dallas Texas, that greatness is in front of them, and embraced his cousin, they didn't waste any time and called out Seth, and Cody. Both men maid their entrance through the fans, as a shield throwback. Solo. Jimmy, and. Paul Heyman filter out of the ring, and the last four men stood tall. From Seth cosplaying as Neo from The Matrix. And Cody playing the sensible card, this made for great viewing. From the believibility all four men showed through their words, the uniting of family, and the forshadowing of the collapse of the Roman empire, to the superb dialogue, that lead to Cody, and. Seth accepting. The Bloodlines Challenge, to the slap heard around the world, and the O'malley household, as the show went off the air. This. Saved Smackdown.

Aew Collision

Bryan Danielson vs Shane Taylor

I liked all of this, from the lts from two years ago, the size difference dynamic being worked well, the many jabs Nigel Mcguinness took at Danielson on commentary, the high level physicality. Taylor delivering one hell of knock out blow, that AJ would be proud of, that lead to Nigel Mcguinness auditioning for the one of the Friday films, by shouting you just got knocked the f*** out, to Danielson getting the win with his bopsycho knee, but. Lets be honest, this was a set up, for what came next, when. Will Osperay came out. He put over Danielsons career, and his devotion to the business, whilst putting over the backstage catering, this was a business call, and my god, did it pick up. He called Bryan a cheeky slag, and delivered a couple of f*** bombs. And got straight to the point, he asked Danielson, what does he have to ask, and say. Danielson spoke about Wills Match with Takeshista from Revolution, and called it, one of the best Matches he has ever seen, and put forward the challenge for Dynasty. Danielson vs Osperay. Will quickly agreed to it, and the Match was confirmed later on in the evening. Aew, please take my money I don't need it.

The Elite vs Some Local Jobbers

Kazuchika Okada put away a local Jobber with his Rainmaker finisher, to give his team the win, in a short squash Match. Eddie Kingston then attacked The Young Bucks, and. Okada, but the numbers game caught up with him. Penta came out to make the save, but failed, so out came a returning Pac. As The Elite scarpered, he cut a scaving promo on all three men, whilst. Eddie kingston put forward a challenge for a 6 way Match at Big Business, for this coming Wednesday. I now can't wait for Wednesday.

Marieh May vs Trish Adora The Explorer

Marieh May, beat. Trish Adora, in a flat TV Match, that lead to becoming the 1st winner of a Toni award, that's Toni with an I, because, just think of the legal rammifications. Deonna Purrazzo then attacked Storm, and took a ddt on the rampway, for her troubles. May then posed with her shoe award, over Deonnas motionless body. This segment was utterly ridiculous, but very funny.

Nick Wayne vs Adam Priest

Nick Wayne, beat. Adam priest, in a fun Match with loads of shenanigans in the aftermath. From Christian Cage ripping up the ring sign, and getting attacked, by his former losqocistodors partner Adam Copeland, who came out looking like he had raided Metallicas 1996 Load make up kits, but what was even more stupid, was when he showed Christian Cage the inside of a box, we the viewers didn't see what was in said box, but if it's not. Gwyneth Paltrows head, then I shall be very upset, I can just hear Brad Pitt now. WHAT'S IN THE BOX HE SHALL SCREAM.

Lionheart Chris Jericho vs TITAN

I didn't like this. I don't get why Aew insist on shoving Chris Jericho down my throat. His act has become stale, boring, and, repettitive. And this Match was the perfect example of that. Flat work from a flat competitor. Chris got the win with his liontamer submission. The Gates Of Agony came down to putt a beating on Chris, but he was saved by Hook, complete with a kendo stick to end the segment. All of this was terrible.

Ftr segment

Then came the segment of the night. Tony Schiavone interviewed Ftr, in the middle of the ring. I loved all of this. From Cash Wheeler giving a motivational speech, and dropping them in the tournament conversation, whilst Dax dropped his part with, fire, and grace, however, before they could leave. The Infantry came out. Finally Aew are doing something with Shawn Dean, and. Carl Bravo, their patter here, felt a little bit two WWE for my liking, as they mocked. Cash, and. Dax's history. Dax then said. The Revival is dead, and so will they be next week. I really enjoyed this.

Mistico vs Angelico

Mistico, beat. Angelico in study of Class, style, and excellent physicality, this was a great TV Match.

Team TNA and Mark Briscoe vs The House Of Black Atlanta Street Fight

This. Was insane, and I loved it. From Brody King giving Jay Lethal a crossbody through a table, Mark Briscoe taking a nasty steel chair bump. Buddy battering Double J. Sunjay getting spooked by Brody King, and then getting tortured by Julia Hart, with gasoline. Sunjay then sent Buddy Matthews flying off the stage, and through a table. Karen Jarrett got misted. Brody king took a guitar shot to the head, and was pushed by double J, off an apron, and through a table. And Mark Briscoe was put through a flaming Table, and then pinned for the finish. This. Was f****** crazy.

Overview Of The Weekend

I enjoyed this weekends wrestling. With Smackdown acting as an enjoyable low point, it was up to Aew to bring things up to speed, to send the weekend off on a great note. And with two more PPV's on the horizon, it's important that both shows deliver, on a more consistant basis going forwards.

Aew Dynamite Review 7.3.2024

Intro

With Revolution, now in the rearview mirror, the focus is now starting to shift towards. Dynasty in 5 five weeks time. It has an unfair caviat against it, coming off the back of last Sunday. Stings retirement was something that I won't ever forget. Wrestling has a habit of bringing out unwavering emotion from us fans, and. Sunday was no differant. From the under card having at least 3 Match of the year contenders, to saying a tear felt goodbye, to a true legend. But, if. Sunday has taught me anything. It's this. The only thing that is sure, is that nothing is for sure, except for Aew's future. Which is starting to look bright again. The future isn't near. It's here.

Swerve Strickland. Samoa joe, and Adam Cole promotrain

I'm not sure what to make of this. Tony Schiavone Interviewed Swerve Strickland, and he had one question for him. What is next for him. He said feels that he doesn't have the keys to his own house. He spoke about he how he thought this is karma, due to all the bad things, that he has done in the past. Fans showered him in their love, by chanting who's house. Swerve revelled in his own doubt, but insisted that nothing has changed, and he is still coming for Joe, and he will defeat him. Samoa Joe came out, he verbally hits every beat, and said that. Swerve might be beaten down, but he needs a reality check, because his house, recides in Joes world, he basked in all of the heel heat, that oozed from every paw of his being, as he wanted to let the fans look at a real champ. Adam Cole and the Undisputed Kingdom then came out.  Cole, then put over the fact that. Wardlow is the no1 contender, whilst putting over the rest of his stable, for holding all the gold. He told Swerve that In 6 months, everyone would have forgotten about him. Swerve then compared Cole to the villain from. Inspector Gadget, and, implying that he is having an affair, with. Britt Baker. Cole, then sacrificed. Bennett, and. Taven, to have a Tag Team Match, against. Joe, and. Swerve. Tony Khan gave the word to Tony Schiavone, that the Match is right now. The promotrain was excellent, The Match, however. I wasn't sold on the Match. Joe took a lot of the offence, which made sense, and the story of can they coexist felt a bit forced, Swerve got the pin, and the win. Wardlow came out, and. Swerve turned his back on Joe, and was choked out by Joe. The Promotrain was great, but a forced impromptu Match, felt a bit two much like a WWE trope, from yesteryear.

The Young Bucks segment

Matthew, and. Nicholas Jackson, said that they have two big announcements later on. More on them later. Don't blink boys, don't blink.

Hook vs Brian Cage FTW Championship

I liked all of this Match, except the Chris Jericho segment that came before, from Hook being rag dolled around the place. Cage taking a fire exstinguisher sqwart to the face, and getting put through the barricade, by. Hook. Cage gave Hook a mic check. ( get It, because he smacked with a microphone ) Hook then hit Cage with a reverse DDT onto a chair. Cage supplexed Hook on the ramp way, and. Cage ate a guardrail, he then introduced thumbtacks to the proceedings. Both men took nasty looking bumps on skin pearcers, but it was Hook who came away with win, and his belt. He was beaten down by The Gates Of Agony, and was saved by. Chris Jericho. Oh no. Hook is being pulled into the Jericho vortex isn't he, strap yourselves in, because this going to get messy.

Renee Paquette best friends

Renee Paquette Interviewed The Best Friends, and it was confirmed that Orange Cassidy, and. Trent Barretta would be entering the Tag Team Tournament, without. Chuck Taylor, who is not medically cleared.

Killswitch vs Daddy Magic

This. Was a set up, for what came afterwards. Killswitch won the Match easily, but It was. Christian Cage on commentary that sold this. The aftermath was awesome. Daniel Garcia came out, to help his mentor. The fight spilled onto the rampway, when. Adam Copeland returned, to chase his former best friend, out of the arena. Christian committed grand theft auto, and pegged away from the arena. Copeland then spoke directly to the camera, and challenged Christian to an I quit Match, when Dynamite comes to Toronto, in two weeks time. This. Was brilliant stuff.

Renee Paquette Interviews Kyle O'reilly

Kyle O'reilly then spoke to. renee Paquette, and I have to say, his emotion was palpable, I loved all of this, and the uncertainty over were he could go, is very interesting.

The Young Bucks Segment

Then came the segment of the night. Matthew, and. Nicholas Buck came out, and instantly tell Tony Schiavone to f*** off, They wasted no time in belittling the person who they retired, and accused Sting of cheating. Matt Jackson then confirmed that they will be in the Tag Team Tournament, and they got both of their announcements done, the 1st one was the kayfabe suspension of. Hangman Adam Page, and the Kayfabe firing of. Kenny Omega, due to missing dates. Eddie Kingston then came out, and talks smack, and tries to get himself suspended, and started throwing cash at the pair, this caused a minor fight, aimed to troll a certain ice cream loving, chick magnet, they go to give him an evp trigger, but, the sound of a penny dropping, stopped them in their tracks. Kazuchika Okada made his Aew debut, decked head to toe, in his finest suit. He then gave Kingston a Rainmaker, siding with The Young Bucks, all of this was f****** brilliant, heel Elite, yes please, heel. Okada, holys***.

Kris Statlander vs Riho

Riho, beat. Kris Statlander in a solid TV Match. The physicality was great, and their In rin ring chemistry was also great. Stokeley Hathaway has a lot to answer for. Doesn't he. Willow Nightingale, then challenged. Julia Hart to a Match for her TBS Championship. And stokeley must stay in the back.

Tony Storm segment

Toni Storm will pressent her first Toni award on colloision, now that's Toni with an I, because I don't have a lot of money, and I don't want to get sued, because i'm a struggling writer after all.

Darby Allin segment

Tony Schiavone had an in ring conversation with Darby Allin. All of this was excellent, from the heartache of homelessness, to helping your hero on his way to riding off into the sunset. He spoke from the heart, he thanked the fans, and the company. for sticking by him, he laid down his Tag belt. Jay white came out. He congratulated Darby for Sunday, and verbally relayed what he thought of those moments, and said that he was a lost puppy without Sting, and he was more than welcome, to come backstage and have a scissoring session with Daddyass. This pissed off Darby, who told Jay he doesn't believe in the hype, surrounding him, and told him to come alone next week, when they face each other. What's next for Darby, Well. Mount Everest. Darby is a complete nutter.

The House of Black Segment

The House Of Black, threatened to commit Murder on live TV, and. Mark Briscoe abliged, and he's going to have help, from Jeff Jarrett, and his TNA Mate. Jay Lethal. Collision is going to be epic this Saturday.

Will Osperay vs Kyle Fletcher

This. Was one of the best TV Matches So far this year. From the UK indie scene, taking on NJPW, to headling PPV's and TV, for one of North America's top promotions. The rise of Will Osperay, has been nothing short of inspiring. And this Match was the perfect example of that. Kyle Fletcher, a man who knows Will personally, made for a great caviat here. The echoes, and spirit of all of the positive aspects of the Britwres scene, before it got murky, was on display. Their chemistry was great, their physicality was great, and their near falls were spin tinglingly good. Osperay got the win with hidden blade finisher. Bryan Danielson came out, and had a face off against Osperay, and at that point in my brain I started to scream, holys*** multiple times over. All of this was excellent.

Overview of Aew Dynamite

Okada's heel debut, those new sets, and the promise of what is to come, and that Main event, this was by far the best Dynamite of the year so far, and a great way to set up now rivalries, ahead of the next PPV. Aew is back, and it's great to see.

This Weeks Dynamite is a very high 10/10.

WWE Monday Night Raw Review 5.3.2024

Intro

With the weekends craziness, and sadness, now in the rearview, it's onwards and upwards on the rd to Wrestlemania. With many more twists to come. Their is a reason why this time of year, is one of my favourite times to be a wrestling fan. Things are going to be very interesting.

Cody Rhodes segment

Cody Rhodes opened up the show, he basked in the fans adjulation, as he asked, what do the fans in San Antonio want to talk about. He spoke about himself facing Roman reigns in the main event of Wrestlemania, and wasted no time, in calling out a distraction. The Rock. He took shots at Dwayne, for his promo uploads, to him not accepting his challenge for a one on one match, fans started to chant. Cody. Cody. Cody, in unison. This lead him to ask ,if their was any Cody crybabie in the arena. Cody then brought out. Seth Rollins, who looked like he was dressed like the topping of a lemon cheesecake. He welcomed us to Monday night Rollins. Cody weighed up all of options, but to quote Rage Against The Machine. Seth told Cody that they must take the power back, so that Roman could not become more powerful, because now that Dwayne is involved. that future could inevitible, so they have to take down. The Bloodline. Seth gave Dwayne a rather nice nickname, that was petty and childish ( which is the point ) called diarhea, which got a nice chant from the crowd. Seth then spoke to the camera, and told Dwayne, that he is not going anywhere, because he is 100% medically cleared. And he will be at Smackdown, and so will. Cody. And will answer what him then. I loved all of this. Smackdown has now become appointment viewing. My Saturday has become clear.

Dominik Mysterio vs Gunther

Gunther battered The Human Oven, He only got in a bit offence, and the rest of the time. he was getting mullered by the ring general. Gunther finished with a T Rex dropkick, powerbomb, and Boston crab combo. Dom was seen getting medical attention with his family. Mami was not happy, and. Jd was put in a tough spot, he must deal with Gunther. Nice knowing you Jd.

Damage Ctrl segment

Damage Ctrl were then seen showing up backstage, to the annouance of Adam Pearce, and as it turned out, they're here to do a bit of scouting, basically they're WWE's answers to premier league scouts. Adam pearce then had a word with Shinsuke Nakamura, about Gunthers IC Championship. More on that later.

Kayden Karter and Katana Chance vs Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark

Shayna Baszler, and. Zoey Stark, beat Kayden Karter, and. Katana Chance, in a flat and boring TV Match. Damage Ctrl then made their pressence felt, and told the victors, when. The Kabuki warriors retain their tag titles on NXT, they will face them next Monday. I hated all of this.

Becky Lynch vs Nia Jax

This. Was pointless, the Match was thrown out, when Liv Morgan caused an Interference. What was the point of this.

Adam Pearce annouancement

Adam Pearce the announced that, their will be a gauntlet Match next week, to decide who Gunther will face at Mania, for his Intercontinental Championship. Sami Zayn. Chad Gable. Jd Mcdonagh. Shinsuke Nakamura, and. Bronson, will all battle it out next week. Sami Zayn spoke to Jackie Redmond later on, and he sounds a bit more optimistic, and hopeful. I think it should be a 3 way at Mania, between. Him. Gunther, and. Chad Gable. Valhalla and Ivor, then satepped, and said that he can't beat Gunther. Sami challenged him to a Match later on in the evening. A Match that he went on to win. And was beaten down by Bronson Reid in the aftermath.

Andrade vs Apollo Crews

Andrade, beat. Apollo Crews in a flat TV Match that fell into the realm of predictability. Thanks for showing up Apollo.

Damian Priest and Finn Balor vs Ludwig Kaiser and Giovani Vinci

This. Was. A solid well worked Match, that had a lot of fluidity, that gave way for the pace of the Match to breathe. One part of me thinks, this could be a warm up for Mania. If this had more time, and was on a PLE, you could be looking at decent PLE Match. Finn, and. Priest got the win.

Paul Heyman segment

Fun and Games

I love R Truth, he was having fun playing the new WWE videogame, with his mates. DIY and Xavier Woods. And. The Miz, and just like all best friends forever scenes in teen films, all put their hands together, and said that they're going to take the tag belts off of The Judgement Day. I got real Saved By The Bell vibes from this.

Jey Uso vs Drew Mcintyre

I had a lot of fun watching this, from Jeys walking promo, to his woefully bad Kanye west glasses. ( get them off of him asap ) Drew lobbing Jey over the announcers table, the fluid pace that it was worked at, and the decent chemistry both men showcased was great, and the added extra of Jey getting ragged dolled, between the barricade, and the ring apron. Solo came out from the crowd, echoing shades of Cardiff. Cody comes out, and takes him out. Drew then ate 3 superkicks. Jimmy Uso then showed up. This distracted Jey Causing him to take a claymore, as. Drew got the win. furthering his decent into Narsacism. Seth Rollins came out, ran past Drew. To take out Jimmy, he also ate a claymore to send the show off the air.

Overview Of Monday Night Raw

From humerous drug references, poor to good in ring action, shouting out a legend, and wishing him well in his retirement, to. Michael looking like a complete tit. This weeks raw was a lot of fun. Not a goog show, but fun.

This weeks Monday Night Raw is a solid 7/10.

WWE Smackdown and Aew Revolution Review  3.3. and 4.2024

Intro

With the weekend starting to wind down, my thoughts are slowly turning, to those of reflection. I'm writing this intro on a Sunday afternoon in the UK. just hours away from Stings retirement Match. Last night I watched Smackdown. Now I know what you're thinking, what does a WWE product, have in comparison with an icon, well, in reflection both the man Sting, and Smackdown of late, have made me feel like the kid watching from behind the TV screen. And if you ask me, their is no better feeling than that.

Smackdown

The Bloodline segment

From heel dynamics being laid bare, and being performed with ease, to the promise of it's emperors world coming crashing down around him, left me with sence of. It isn't near. It's here. The end of The Bloodline as we know It. Roman came out to a mixed reception, he asked for acknowledgement, from the hot Arizona crowd, on three ocasions, and on each one, he got increasingly pissed off, chants of you suck, and. Cody, started to echo out from every section of the area of the arena. Roman then said that he was done, he had lived up to his end of the deal, so he was just going to leave. But Paul Heyman reminded, that they can't leave, because. Dwayne was due to come out, after the commercial break, and when they came back from the break, business picked up. The Rock came out, he embraced his heel persona, all of this was Gold, pure electric. Gold, from calling Arizona, and it's residents crack addicts, bringing some class to proceedings, with his pressence, because they can shoot him into their arms, instead of crack. The Rock played fans like a fiddle, as they hung on his every word. He got over how pro wrestling is cool again, with multiple WWE shows that he is appearing on, having completely sold out. And it's all thanks to him, and. The Bloodline. Then came the snag, Cody is not cool in the eyes of. The Great One, he spoke about how Cody, had the audacity to put his name in his mouth. The Rock refused his challenge for a Match at mania. But instead he counteracted this with, his own proposition. A Tag Match, he and. Seth Rollins vs. The Bloodline, for night 1 at Wrestlemania. If they win, then night 2 will be a clean Match, but if they lose, then the Match will contested under Bloodline Rules. The Rock said what it could mean, whilst delivering some fine trashtalk, the only way he can, with fire grace, and doses of venom. He put over his relevance, from the front office, to the ring. The Rock is the boss, and If Cody and Seth don't accept this, then Cody's story may not come to an end, because. The Rock, will do everything in his power to make sure that he doesn't win Romans. Universal Championship. He went to deliver his Catchphrase, but halfway through. Roman Stopped him, and asked his cousin to acknowledge him. The Rock acknowledged his cousin, as the head of the table, and his Tribal Chief, Dwayne then tried his catchphrase for a second time. And Roman finished it, by saying what his family was cooking. I have been a wrestling fan for nearly over 30 years of life, and I have to say. I'm loving seeing The Rock at the moment. Yes. I can understand fans anger over the past few weeks. But all this did, was confirm my thoughts. It was all a work. Yes. This. Was a great promo, and arguably one of the best in recent years, in the build up to Wrestlemania, but all of the faulsifying of the audience, could be detrimental on first viewing, however, whether WWE pivoted, or not, is not something that I care about, because as a fan. I just want to see a great Match. This means that the next couple of weeks, are going to be ground breaking, this story needs a conclusion. From the son of a plumber, to the legacy of a Samoan dynasty, their is a lot on the line, from all aspects, up and down the company, and it's going to be an awesome sight to see.

LA Knight. Grayson Waller. Austin Theory and Randy Orton segment

Austin Theory, and. Grayson Waller, were backstage, having a laugh at others expense, watching back the eliminations from Elimination Chamber, LA Knight came in, looking for Aj Styles, but they hadn't seen him. Randy Orton came in, and Waller put his foot were his mouth is, and put Theory In the main event, against Orton. Randy was impressed with these two Idiots.

Tiffany Stratton vs Naomi

Tiffany Stratton, beat. Naomi in a flat TV Match that offered nothing.

Bayley and Dakota Kai vs The Kabuki Warriors

Even though all of this was predictable, and story based it has delivered on its promise, turn Bayley into an underdog. The Match was thrown out, when dakota Kai turned on Bayley. Bayles attacked Dakota, but the numbers game caught up to her, Damage Ctrl attacked its former leader. Whisper It. Iyo, and. Bayley at Mania will steal the show. Iyo then duped into Jade Cargil backstage. But. Nick Aldis has a lot on his plat dealing with LA Knight.

Bron Breakker vs Xyon Quinn

Here lies Xyon Quinn, he came, he saw. He was murdered by a debuting bron Breakker.

 Legardo Delfantasma segment and Carlito vs Santos escobar Street Fight

I liked all of this, from. santos wanting to take out Rey Mysterio, and rid the world of his Lwo, to this Street fight being a lot of fun, Chair shots, Kendo sticks, and of course, all being used to great extent, all because of a stolen apple. The Match had its fair share of shenanigans, from. The sexiest Bastards in WWE. Angel, and. Humberto getting involved. The Lwo, making the save, this acted as a rouse, for the return of. Rey Mysterio. Rey played possum. Making Santos think that he was still hurt, but just like the priest from the film Braindead, he kicked arse, taking out. Angel, and. Humberto with his crutch. Carlito got the win, thanks to Rey. He put Santos through a table, with a spinebuster, after Rey hit him with a 619. I enjoyed this a lot.

New Catch Republic segment

New Catch Republic. Pete Dunne, and. Tyler Bate were backstage, telling. Nick Aldis, that they want another shot at the Universal Tag Team Championships.

Randy Orton vs Austin Theory

Even though I can't stand Austin Theory. I thought this was good, not great, but good, Kevin Owens was having a good time on commentary, he smashed Grayson Waller onto the announcers desk, after Waller tried to get involved, Randy reversed a blockbuster attempt into a suplex, which was a genuinely cool spot. He went on to get the win with an RKO from out of nowhere.

Aew Revolution 2024

TNT Championship Daniel Garcia vs Christian Cage

This. Was a great opener. From. Garcia getting to hold the belt. Christian having a family team meeting, the decent back and forth. Nick Wayne getting launched into the time keepers area. Garcia kicking out of a killswitch, and chokeslam nearfall. Daddy Magic, and. Nick Wayne's mum, ( who's got it going on) having a face to face, after a fight with Killswitch. Christian maintained his act of being everyone's favourite top guy, by cheating. Nick Wayne helped his real dad get the win with an interference, Cage hit Garcia with a killswitch to retain his belt.

Continental Crown Match Eddie Kingston vs Bryan Danielson

When the full card was rumoured, to my eyes, there was at least four Match of the year contenders, and this was one of them, and I wasn't disapointed. Both men in their backstage moments were a study in contrast. From Danielson battering Kingstons knees, to the physical nulification both men put each other through, but what we did get was, a technical clinic, that had me enthralled. The Match was centred around respect, which had the fans split down the middle, which added to the drama, they eventually came round with the this is awesome chant, Danielson tried to hit Kingston with a bopsycho knee, but he reversed it into a powerbomb for the win. Kingston shook hands with Danielson in a show of class in the aftermath. Kingston revelled in the fans applause and adjulation. Which was a sight to behold.

Allstar Scramble Match

Wardlow, beat. Hook. Powerhouse Hobbs. Lance Archer. Magnus. Brian Cage. Dante Martin, and. Chris Jericho, to become the no1 Contender to the Aew heavyweight Championship, the Match was two formulaic for my tastes. It was also messy, and took way to long to get started.

Aew International Championship Orange Cassidy vs Roderick strong

I liked all of this, from the superb physicality, the flawless exchanges that both men shared, to the Match flowing like a fine beer. Strong dethroned the Orange one, to become the new. Aew International Champion. Oh and Kyle O'reily showed up, and denounced his relationship, with The Undisputed Kingdom, yeah. I can't blame him. I mean that t shirt is f****** hideous.

Ftr vs Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli

Next came one of my Matches of the night. Ftr, had a war with Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli, from Dax and Claudio having a Match, within a Match, Claudio, and. Jon playing dress up as their favourite Tag Team. The Road Warriors, to everything that came in between. Dax getting busted open. Dax taking a doomsday device, and the flawless exchanges that sold the violence perfectly, after a big rig nearfall. Dax spat blood in Moxleys face. to the near falls being played out to perfection. Mox, and. Claudio got the win, with a both of them performing rear naked chokes for the win. This. Is one of my Matches of the year.

Aew Womens Championship Match Toni Storm vs Deonna Purrazzo

This Match had a lot of promise going into it, but it failed to lift off, in my opinion. Marieh May looked like she was going to a halloween party, as the old. Toni Storm. The spot in which. Purrazzo, took out Storm, and. Luther, was cool. But overall, parts of the Match fell flat, and that was resounded with the fans, looking bored throughout this. Storm retained, thanks to. Luther interfering.

Will Osperay vs Konsuke Takeshista

Then came my Match of the night, and the year so far. Will  Osperay, and. Konosuke Takeshista, had an all time 5 star Match. Their really isn't much else for me to add, It was a fast paced, with great fluid exchanges, with superb back and forth, which helped create this masterpiece, that was drama personified. Will got the win, with his hidden blade finisher, the result didn't matter, because. This. Was an epic reminder, of how great Pro Wrestling is. osperay will, now face his. United Empire brother Kyle Fletcher, on. Dynamite this week.

Samoa Joe vs Hangman adam Page vs Swerve Strickland

Samoa Joe. Swerve Strickland, and. Hangman Adam Page, then had a barn burner of a three way Match, for the Aew World Heavyweight Championship. From. Swerve and Hangman, stairing daggers at each other. the great storytelling within the Match, and all of the possibilities that come from off the back of that. This Match had a tough task, following what it had to follow, but all three men pulled out a great Match. The physicality was off the chart, Joe took two buckshot lariots, the near falls fell in with the storytelling, and were great to watch. Joe also took a double sided powerbomb, from. Hangman, and. Swerve. Hangman took out Swerve. and then screamed, you will never win this belt. On multiple ocasions. Hangman battered referees, this acted as an aid for his heel character. Swerve refused to cheat, and turned away Nana's Crown. This would play into the finish, as Hangman tapped out of a Kahuna clutch. Joe retaind, and. Swerve could only look on in horror. This Match will have many avenues to go down, in the coming weeks, and It's going to be Interesting to how it unfolds.

Stings final Match

Over the course of this weekend, I kept thinking to myself, how was I going to write this part of my review, well, as it turns out with difficulty, This. Was an emotional ride from the outset. But the time had come to say goodbye. Because. Sting, and. Darby Allin, vs. The Young Bucks, for the Aew World Tag Team Championships. The entrances were someting, to marvel, and cry at, in equal measure. The Young Bucks found Cody's old elevator entrance, in the lost and found, while Sting watched his career in a cinema. Sting then made his entrance to my favourite band Metallica's Seek And Destroy, Both of his sons joined in the celebrations, embracing their dads past gimmicks, the escopades of violence were a family affair, from Insane Ladder, tables, chairs, and glass spots. Both men fought through the fans, and both Sting, and. Darby were put through tables, by the stage. Matt Jackson, then saved his brother from death, after Darby attempted a swantomb bomb, from the top of the 30 foot ladder, which means he took the full impact, landing through glass, placed on chairs. Sting then survived a table spot. and stood up afterwards. So Matt Jackson chucked him through glass. After that Sting ran through his greatest hits with ease. Nick was launched through a table by. Darby Allin. Sting hit a scorpion deathlock on Matt Jackson, for the win. Sting gave a speech to the fans In attendance, which left me nearly in tears, this man has meant so much to the industry, and to see him go out like this, on his own terms. was something very special, and evenings like this are  rare, enjoyable, life affirming affairs. God speed. Sting. God speed. Steve Boardman.

Overview Of The Weekend

Both shows were differant studies in contrast, one featured an icon, imposing his will on one of the years biggest cards, whilst the other said an emotional farewell to a true legend. Sting has been a part of my wrestling fandom, since the first time I sat down to watch WCW, on. Saturday afternoons on ITV here in the uk, almost over 30 years ago. And as time has gone by. I have changed as a person, and so has. Sting, from surfer Sting. The Crow Sting, and even joker sting, the character, much like the man who portrayed him for over 39 years, has changed alongside us fans. If this weekend has taught me anything it's this. If you get a ball in life, you have to run with it. One man this weekend has done that, and proved that it was showtime everytime, that he was given a chance.

WWE Smackdown Is a solid 8/10
