My Top 5 Insights From Friday Night Smackdown.
Intro.
Due to timing issues I ended up watching this weeks Smackdown after UFC 321, so to say that I was in a bad moode was an understatement, so this show had a lot to do in order to leave me feeling some sort of happy, so lets give this show a wirl then.
5. Cody Rhodes Segment.
I liked this. From the early outset I thought that this was a treat. Cody came out, and spoke to the fans, and gave his reflections from last week, that was until he got interrupted by Drew Mcintyre. Drew came out from the fans, and stood on the announcers desk, and said that even though he hates everything to do with Jacob Fatu's family, he didn't attack him. This was when Big Jimmy Uso came out and attacked him.
4. JC Mateo And Tama Tonga vs Rey Fenix And Shinsuke Nakamura.
I was into this. I get why some fans might have complained about this Match, but I enjoyed it. The physicality was point, and that suprised me, because on paper this looked like a standard TV Match. The in ring chemistry between both teams looked great. Oh and Solo's MFT's I have one thing to say to you. 1984 called whilst your crew were in the ring, and the makers of The Karate Kid called, and they said they want their Cobra Kai face paints back. JC, and. Tama got the win.
3. Tiffany Stratton vs Kiana James.
I didn't like this. I'm used to WWE playing into the realm of being predictable at this point, but when they insult what intelligence that I have left, this is were I draw the line. Tiffany Stratton vs Kiana James, left me feeling bored. That all I have to say is this. Tiffany got the win. Do I care. No, not really.
Ilja Dragonov vs Alestair Black United States Championship Open Challenge.
I have a wild theory about this Match. This was alright. The physicality was on point, and their chemistry was on the same level. The interference spots from Damien Priest, and Zelina Vega made sense, as they helped blend into the finish. Ilja retained. I liked this.
1. I've Become Dehumanised When It Comes To No DQ Matches.
I had a massive problem, not with this Match, but with the hole concept of the NO DQ Match as a hole, It's become a TV staple, and not an overall stipulation that needs protecting. This Match might have been predictable, but It did leave me thinking that this stipulation should be put to bed permanantly. Drew, beat. Big Jim Uso, and Cody Rhodes stopped a beatdown in the aftermath.
