My Top 5 Thoughts From UFC 321.

Intro.

As I sit here on a Saturday evening, i'm writing this piece in the aftermath of the event, having just watched Tom Aspinall vs Ciryl Gane. ( more on this later on ) I can't help but feel a bit let down with this PPV. The UFC have put forward some great events, and fight nights this year, but I have to say that this one fell short of the mark.

5. Alexsander Rakic vs Azamat Murzikinov.

This one was over far too quick, as Alexander Rakic, laid waste to Amazat Murzikinov by knock out, this was one of the highlights of the main card. Rakic had no answer for his speed.

4. I don't Get How Alexander Volkov Beat Jaiiton Almeida.

Alexander Volkov, beat. Jailton Almeida in what was a poor excuse of a performance. Almeida showed his great ground game, and it out classed Volkov. I don't think that Volkov did enough to get the win, he looked slow, and off the pace, so the fact that he got the win by the decision, just baffles me.

3. Little Bro Namagamedov Is Highly Ressilient.

I will give Umar Namagamedov credit were it's due, he's highly ressilient. His win over Mario Bautista will be mared with the fact that it was an unflattering, and boring, and as for Mario. I don't get why fans like this guys fight style it's flat, and very onesided. This on paper looked good, but if i'm honest, this wasn't for me.

2. Mackenzie Dern Did Enough To Win.

This had the positioning of the Co Main Event, and it deserved it's place. But it felt like both Virna JanDiroba, and Mackenzie Dern were doing just about enough to get the job done, and become the new UFC Womens Straw Weight Champion. Dern got the win, and the sight of her celebrating with her daughter with a nice scene, however I thought that the fight was a bit underwhelming.

1. Refs Need To Do More.

I don't like critising Referees, but I feel like I have to on this ocasion. Steve Herzog was the man at the centre of the Tom Aspinall vs Ciryl Gane Main Event, and to say that it ended in disaray is an understatement. Tom got poked in both of his eyes in an act of cheating in my opinion. Gane could be seen if you focus on the footage  manouvering his hand in a way to perform this move. Tom was given the right amount of time to recover, but as soon as a fighter says that they can't see, then that should be that. Steve waited 3 minutes before getting in the dr. This should've happened as soon as he said those words. The fight was ruled a no contest.
