Top 5 Lessons That Pro Wrestling Can Learn From Music.
Intro.
From important issues like Mental Health, to the empowering feeling you get when watching a video package, to the sense you get when watching something life affirming. Music is the key to most things in life, and this shouldn't be ignored, so this is my inspiration for this list. I learnt a lot from music, as a kid who grew up with learning issues, that still have an impact on me now to this day as an adult, I feel music can teach you some very important life lessons, whilst acting as a form of education. I think that Pro wrestling can learn lessons from music.
5. Battery Metallica Video Packages.
As a fan of Pro Wrestling for more than 30 years, i've been a fan of Metal Music, for nearly the same amount of time, and it baffles me how this track has never been used to promote a Match in this form. I think that this would've been the perfect track to examplify Omega vs Okada from All In this year.
4. Joe Luke Combs Alcoholism.
A famous show runner once said. If you don't put issues like this on TV, then no one talks about them. I think this is true, so when AEW took this route with Hangman Adam Page, I thought that this was a bald move. Addiction isn't something to laughed at, and the way that Luke handles the subject is with care, and attention. This needs to done a lot more, and treated like this.
3. I'm Not Okay But It's All Gonna Be Alright JellyRoll Mental Helath.
In the past Pro Wrestling hasn't treated the issue of Mental Health with any respect, or dignity, for examples, we have Ric Flair in a mental institution, and we have the way that Linda Mcmahons character was treated in late year 2000, at the hands of He Who Shall Not Be Named. I get that those times were differant, but this is a case, of if we knew then, what we know now, would things be differant, or the same. I like to think that society would be more understanding, as tracks like this, can be a learning curb, and a source of medicine.
2. Easier To Run Linkin Park Child Abuse.
From the early aspects of the family dynamic, you never knew what was going on behind the scenes, this is true when it came to Pro Wrestling this is no differant. From the ring boy scandal that engolfed the early 1990's, to alledged incidents that I can't talk about online for legal reasons. The song Easier To Run is a reminder that's it's ok to speak up, and when you do, you will be listened to. I feel this issue doesn't get spoken about enough, and it should, especially in this industry.
1. My Way Limp Bizkit Soundtracking.
When you take a look at WrestleMania as an event, one of the things that I look at is how Matches get soundtracked. This song is the grade of a perfect song matching its subject, as it was the main soundtrack to The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austins rivalry. You could say that I wrote this list My Way.
