Monday Night Raw Review

Intro

The last nine days in the world of wrestling have been, emotional, lnteresting, humerous, and downright embarassing if you're name is. Tony Khan. I personally have enjoyed all of it, from the stupid personal jibes, to the ill advised sex references. But there is also a caviat, this could be seen as embarassing on both sides. Even though. I don't think this is a major concern, the old metric of. If you think your no1, then you shouldn't even look down at no2, may need to be inforced, for the sake of collateral damage.

Rhea Ripley Vacates Her Womens Championship

Rhea Ripley was out first tonight, to start off Monday Night Raw, decked with her arm in a sling, and due to injury, she's having to vacate her Womens Championship. She wasted no time in placing the blame on Liv Morgans head, telling the story of, an eye for an eye. She called Morgan a coward, whilst sending her a stark warning, because when she comes back, she will be wanting blood, and if she gets her way, she will be following in the footsteps of. The Human Oven, by doing some hard time. Liv Morgan came out flanked by security, Rhea gives one of then a forehead sandwich to end the segment, and was given a nice little send from her Judgement Day guys backstage. Liv answered this back later on. All of this has come around due to Rhea suffering an arm injury, by the sounds of things. This is a sad way for things to come to an end for Rhea. I would've liked for her drop the belt at Summerslam, but I don't think that's going to happen anytime soon.

Sheamus vs Ivar

Sheamus returned to TV by beating Ivar in a fun, short Match. Sheamus hit the viking with a knee cap, and a brogue kick for the win. He then celebrated at Ringside with Pat Mcafe, and. Michael Cole. You love to see it.

HHH segment and Triple Threat Tag Team Match

What came next had me howling with laughter. HHH, and. Adam Pearce came out. HHH spoke of the importance of Wrestlemania, and told us that the Tag belts are changing, in line with the company's new era. Pearce then asked the Tag Champs. Awesome Truth to come out. What came next was gold. HHH gave R Truth his flowers, and in response. Truth had a funny back and forth with The King Of Kings. HHH was trying visibly not to corpse, whilst also thinking, uummm, what am I doing with my life. Truth thought that he was Tomasso Ciampa. HHH walks away after showing the dynamic duo, the new belts. And don't get me wrong. I'm pleased to see those ugly roman gladiatior belts go, but these new belts look like, a bowl of strawberry flavoured cereal. Adam Pearce then brought out the teams, that are coming for those belts. DIY. The Crede Brothers, and. The New Day, all faced each other in an excellent Match. DIY got the win. And will face Awesome Truth at a later date.

Drew Mcintyre segment

Jackie Redmond was trying to Interview Drew Mcintyre, he stormed off after seeing footage of Cm Punk. I think Drew is pissed off because he's hungry. Drew. Mate. Eat a snickers, because your not you, when your hungry. All though. I think that Punk is a Milky Way kind of guy. Other chocolate bars are also available.

Indi Hartwell and Candace Lerae vs Ivy Nile and Maxine Dupri

Indi Hartwell, and Candace Lerae, beat. Ivy Nile, and. Maxine Dupri, thanks to Indi's Hartwells cheating. I'm not interested in any of this.

Damien Priest Video

A promo video showcasing Damian Priests rise to the top. I have been a follower of this man, since his days as Punishment Martinez in ROH. And I think he fully deserves the success that he is having. Also am I the only person who thinks that the following segment, is the start of the downfall of The Judgement Day. And that Finn Balor is Hurricane Helms.

Andrade vs Dirty Dominik Mysterio

Andrade, beat. Dominik Mysterio, in a solid Match, filled with decent physicality, and good chemistry. Ricochet made the save, when The Judgement Day, tried to put a beating on Andrade. I don't think The Judgement Day are one for this world.

Chelsea Green and Piper Niven vs Kayden Karter and Katana Chance

Chelsea Green, and. Piper Niven, beat. Kayden Karter, and. Katana Chance, in a standard TV Match, that lasted for about 3 minutes. Am I the only person who thinks that HHH, has gone to the well of. Tony Khans bad booking, of his womens division, a little bit to often of late.

Cody Rhodes Segmen

I loved this segment. Cody has a radiance with the fans, and it shows everytime he comes out. However, some fans don't like him, and have started comparing him to mid 2000's John Cena. I don't understand the comparison. Cody Rhodes has been chosen to lead this new era in WWE, whilst Cena was placed in his position, and forced down our throats as a leader. Cody talked about Backlash, and both of his future opponents. He thanked Adam Pearce, and. Seth Rollins, and slammed The Rock, which only hyped up, what we could be getting in the future. He mentioned what Dwayne had told him. And I think it's safe to say, both men will bleed, when they eventually face each other. Cody spoke about the confusion with The Bloodline, and brought out Jey Uso, both men had a nice back and forth. Cody told that he has his back when he faces Finn Balor, they had a yeetathon, but Jey wanted to go it alone.

Jey Uso vs Finn Balor

Jey Uso, beat. Finn Balor in a decent TV Match. The Judgement Day tried to Beat Jey down, but he got away, and escaped through the fans. Which lead to something really cool. The Camera followed Jey as he left the Arena, and who was standing at the entrance. Sami Zayn.

Sami Zayn vs Chad Gable Intercontinental Championship

The camera shot followed Sami into the arena, he basked in the adulation of the fans, the noise that came from that building, sounded incredible. The atmosphere felt palpable through the TV screen. Both men showed their hand, and created something special, for the fans in attendance. The physicality was insane, and their chemistry was great. But it was Sami who got the win, after a hellouva kick from a roll up. But it was the aftermath that shocked everyone. Sami went over to celebrate with his family and friends, and just like that. Chad snapped, he suplexed Sami around, like a rag doll. I got real Kurt Angle 2008-2009 TNA vibes from this, and I loved all of it.

Overview Of Monday Night Raw

I thought this was the best episode of Monday Night Raw so far this year. Don't get me wrong. I loved last weeks show. I just felt this weeks show flowed better, even though it wasn't a promo heavy show, the in ring work went from bad, to good, to excellent, and the promos we got, went straight to the point. If this weeks Raw was food. It would be Mcdonalds, a food that fills you up, but also leaves you wondering, do I really need that extra portion of fries, because it left me wanting a bit more.

This Weeks Monday Night Raw is a solid 8/10.

Friday Night Smackdown Review 14.4.2024

Intro

I'm going to have to start with an apology, due to an urgent family issue. I'm not going to be able to review Aew Collision. This weekend has thrown me, and, mine through a loop, and then some. So I'm going to give Collision a miss for one week, and in its place will be my thoughts on were Aew should go, in the aftermath of. Tony Khans brain fart from Dynamite this week.

Smackdown

Cody Rhodes segment

This. Man, at the minute, has the world in his hands, and it is a sight to behold. His interaction with the fans is the stuff of Magic, he spoke about what it was that. The Rock gave him, and even though he didn't say what it was. I think it's clear to say, that. Dwayne gave him the keys to the kingdom. But on nights like tonight, it's all about looking forward, and not backwards. because he is looking forward, to tonights triple threat Matches. He put over all the participants, whilst telling them, if you come at the king, you best not miss. Because, he is undesirable, and undeniable, but most importantly, he is the champ. I loved this opening segment.

The Bloodline segment

The Bloodline, are starting to realise, they're not the big I ams anymore, when they notice that Cody has their dressing room. Why am I being reminded of Woody and Buzz from Toy Story. ( In a weird way ) Kevin Owens loved gloating about this.

LA Knight vs Bobby Lashley vs Santos Escobar

I had a lot of fun watching this. LA Knight is arguably the most over wrestler with the fans, next to. Cody Rhodes. From a triple suplex. ( that looked awesome ) The Street Profits, and. Legado Delfantasma getting involved, to. LA Knight getting the win, with his blunt force trauma finisher. This. Was. A decent little opener. Knight will face the winner of tonights main event, next week.

Lwo segment

Rey Mysterio, was seen backstage with his Lwo bandmates, he spoke of the pride he has for this group, and that he would love to have one more shot at the gold. Look. I love Rey Mysterio, but do I think that he should have another title run, yes. Because. I feel that his United States Championship reign, didn't live up to its promise.

The Bloodline segment

This. Was perfect, nothing more, nothing less, just perfect. The Bloodline, minus. Roman, came out to Solo's music, which through me. Paul Heyman took to the mic. And by orders of the Roman Blinders, he said that. The Bloodline needs to be held accountable, for everything that happened last weekend at WrestleMania. From Romans lust for revenge, and him holding onto anger being his downfall. But just before Paul could give his rally cry of positivity, for his tribal Chief. Solo stopped him, he takes the microphone from Paul, and turned his attention to his older brother Jimmy, and what came next, in my opinion, had some talented gents from Newcastle Upon Tyne, here in the UK,  feeling a sense of relief. Solo hugged his brother, and then Jimmy was jumped by hooded figure, that turned out to be Tama Tonga. Paul tried to stop this, but. Solo chucked his phone to the floor. And both men went to work on Jimmy. Later on Tama would have a face to face, with. Paul Heyman. By orders of the Roman Blinders.

Cameron Grimes vs Bron Breakker

Cameron Grimes. Then got wrecked by Bron Breakker. I like Bron Breakker. But I don't get why Cameron Grimes had to be used this way. It's such a waste of potential.

Bayley segment

I love Bayley, she was greated by a chorus of fans chanting. Bayley. Bayley. Bayley. I'm sorry America, you're chants are good, but it's not a patch on. Heeeeeeeey hey Bayley ooh agh I wanna know, would you be my girl. You Americans could learn something from us Brits. Her promo was great, she spoke from the heart, and thanked the fans, and just when you thought that she was going to announce an open challenge, for her womens Championship. Tiffany Stratton thought the same thought as me, ( which is worrying ) she came to accept, whilst putting over her distain, for not having a Match at. WrestleMania, so she decided to take up the challenge. Bayley said that she was mistaken, and the shot was not for her. It was for Naomi. Tiffany insulted Naomi. The artist of glow, then came out. Naomi then put over all of her achievements, and then said to Bayley, she would face her another time, because she wanted to face Tiffany. The Match was decent, not great, but decent. Naomi got the win, in a Match that was filled with great fluidity.

A Town Down Under segment

Theory, and. Waller then presented their own cheesefest video. The New Tag Champs are here, and my god their going to be annoying, but I think that's the point.

Logan Paul Segment

Logan Paul then had a segment, in which he focussed on the most important things in life. Boasting, bragging, and calling out Randy Orton. I liked this.

Chelsea Green and Piper Niven vs Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair

Chelsea Green, and. Piper Niven lost to. Jade Cargill, and. Bianca Belair, the segment beforehand was funny to a degree, but the Match, however was, too short for me to care.

Kevin Owens vs AJ Styles vs Rey Mysterio

This Match didn't get a lot of TV time, but then again. I don't think it needed it, because this felt like all three men, were working to a go go go go pace. From Kevins walk through entrance, trashing. Reys son. The Human Oven, to the physicality, and skill being performed at a high level. From an awesome looking German stack suplex, to AJ getting the win with a styles clash, slamming Rey on top of Kevin, for the win. He will face LA Knight next week. Yeeeeeaaaaah.

Overview Of Friday Night Smackdown

This weeks Smackdown was a lot of fun. The Matches were solid in places, and the segments were good, with one imparticular, going down an exciting route.

This Weeks Friday Night Smackdown is a high 7/10.

Where can Aew go from here

On Thursday mornings I have a routine. I wake up at 7am, I load up my triller TV app on my chromecast, and I watch Aew Dynamite, with my breakfast. But, this week felt a bit differant. Last week. Cm Punk gave an Interview on Ariel Helwani's MMA Podcast. And he proceeded to explain what happened at All In, between him, and. Jack Perry. He critisized Tony Khan, calling him a nice guy, but a terrible boss, he went over what he said to Khan in moments of anger. Now, don't get me wrong. I know that Cm Punk, isn't everyone's favourite person, due to the fact that he divides up a lot of opinion, but in my opinion, everyone has the right to have their say, and everyone has the right to stand up for themselves. and defend the ones around them, however all of Tony Khans attempts, have been met with wide spread confusion, and condemnation of pure hatetred. On the 3rd of April edition of Dynamite. Adam Copeland came out, and cut a rally cry promo, defending Tony Khan. The Elite, and, everyone who works for the company. This was met, with many fans feeling confused, whilst others, like myself, just thought. Let it go. Tony Khan in my opinion can't take critisism. Yes. I get that you have to defend you're terroritory, however shooting down your nose, to the point that fans feel embarrassed by you, and your company, means you've taken one step forward, by bringing world class talent, and having great Matches, but in the same breath, you've gone backwards, by resorting to petty nonsensicle jibes. I still love Aew. But stupid decisions, like what we saw this past Wednesday, will hurt the cpmpany in the long run, if this continues. The decision to air the footage from All In London, when I first heard about it, I had me saying to myself. No one is going to come out looking good in this situation. And in my opinion. I was right. No one has gained anything from this. Dave Meltzer said this on Wrestling Observer Radio. If you're Punk, then you're laughing. And he's right. All of this was a lose lose situation. As a Wrestling fan of over thirty years. I think it's great that we as fans, have more than one choice in town to go to, in order to find something that we like. Aew over the past few months, has given us great shows, with sensational action, but I'm starting to get the feeling, that the cloud that hung over the company's head since last September, is slowly reapearing, and that. Tony Khan is starting to look like the master of his own downfall. How Can Aew bring itself back to life, just have great matches, and let them do the talking. From what I can understand, their future is being negotiated, when it comes to their TV rights, which is why this is a pivotal moment in this young company's history, to act like their here to stay, so that the future wrestling fans can have a choice, on were they want to spend their time, and money.

 Aew Dynamite Review 11.4.2024

Intro

This week in Pro Wrestling has been nothing short of crazy. From Match of the year contenders at the show of shows, and a certain story coming to an earth shattering conclusion. But, over the weekend. Aew announced that they would be airing the footage of. Cm Punk, and. Jack Perrys fight from All In last year, as a fan who was in attendance, I have been waiting to see the footage, for ages. I have my thoughts on the matter, and I will get into them later on. And believe you me, there not good.

Samoa Joe vs Dustin Rhodes

This Match never happened, Joe got jumped by Swerve before things could get going. He was sphered through a table. I liked all of this.

Renee Paquette Orange Cassidy

Renee Paquette, tried to interview Orange Cassidy, but, she got no response.

Penta vs Adam Copeland TNT Championship Match

I liked all of this. This. Was a well worked, physical war, Copeland retained in what was a great Match. Julia Hart, and. Brody King came out to attack Copeland. Willow Nightingale made the save. Later on Stokeley Hathaway put his foot in his mouth. which pissed off Nightingale, Mercedes Mone gave her thoughts on Nightingale later on in the evening, and was attacked by an unknown asailant.

Heel Young Bucks segment and Ftr counteraction

I loved this segment. The Young Bucks heel personas are my favourite thing in wrestling, at this moment, The segment was great, it brought out the best in both. Matt, and. Nick Jackson. They showed the backstage footage, of the altercation between. Cm Punk, and. Jack Perry. I don't think this was needed, all it has done is ignite the flames, of, who's right, and who's wrong, my thoughts on this are simple. Perry should have listened to the execs, and. Punk should not have gotten involved, and Tony Khan, should've managed the situation better, by showing that he is a strong leader. What I saw here was nothing short of a high school fight. Yes, this is the wrestling business, and the standards and practices are differant, to how I work in my job. But. I like to think to think that commen decency remains in all industries. This didn't showcase that. In my opinion, everyone involved is to blame. Ftr came out and counteracted this on the spot. Both. Dax, and. Cash fired back at The Bucks, with, fire, and grace, and said everything that I wanted to say here. It also brings everything that Tony has said over the last 8 months into question. But then again. I don't think that were being told the full picture. That's just my opinion. No one came out looking good from this. And on the subject of pissing contests.

Will Osperay segment

Renee Paquette Interviewed Will Osperay, his promo delivery here was excellent, as usual, but the consistant digs at WWE went overboard in this segment. Osperay said that he came to. Aew, because he wants to face the best talent in the world, because he isn't afraid of the grind. Some men have tried to beat him, but they failed, he went on to say that, he can't call himself the best, until he has beaten Danielson. I'm not sure what to make of any of this.

Chris Jericho. Hook and. Katsuyori Shibata vs Shane Taylor Promotions

I hated all of this. Jericho's act has become stale, boring, and repetitive, and this Match was the perfect example of that. Shane Taylor Promotions got the win, and I don't care. Jericho, and his crew, had a segment with Renee Paquette earlier in the evening, and even that was a lot better than this.

Kazuchika Okada vs Cristiano Argento

Kazuchika Okada, beat. Cristiano Argento, in a squash Match, and wasted no time in calling out Pac. The Bastard came out, and was imidiately taken out by. The Young Bucks. Ftr came out to make the save. Okada accepted Pacs challenge for the PPV. The Match bang.

The Bang Bang Gang segment

Oh would you look at that. The Bang Bang Gang have new t shirts, and their a complete eyesaw. Jay White talked how much he hates The Acclaimed. Yeah. I didn't like this at all.

Toni Storms Charlestone Champane Celebration

This. Was f****** pointless. This was a waste of air time. Toni Storm spat Champane in Thunderosa's face, and. Deonna Purrazzo tried to have a scrap with her until Luther stepped in. This acted as a set up for Anna Jay vs Marieh May. Which acted as a pointless snack break. May got the win. Ok. That's it brain i'm done.

Dustin Rhodes vs Samoa Joe World Title Eliminator

Samoa Joe, beat. Dustin Rhodes, in a woefully booked main event. The Physicality was decent, but nothing much to write home about. Joe got the win, after hitting Dustin with his Championship belt, after Dustin tried to sell the look of confliction. I hated this Match, and it was a poor way to end, what was a woeful show.

Overview Of Aew Dynamite

Ok. I'm going to be brutally honest, this was the worst ever episode of Aew Dynamite. It feels like they've taken a giant backwards step. The plotting of this show felt lazy, and with last weeks Cm Punk Interview, still hanging over their heads, they needed to have an urgent reset, instead what we got was, petty, childish nonsense, being served up to the masses. Aew was the company that once prided itself, on having great Matches, without always needing to have a form of context, and now they've been reduced to this, which is what we got last night.

This weeks Aew Dynamite, by. Aew standards is a low 4/10

Poor old Tony Schiavone.

The Monday Night Raw After Mania

Intro

With Mania 40 now in the books, and done for another year, the celebrations were not done yet. The Monday Night Raw after Mania, over the years has become the template, for what to expect over the next coming weeks, and months, suprise debuts, and internet breaking moments. That have shaped WWE over the years, have taken place on the Raw after Mania, and this weeks Raw, continued that everloving trend.

Cody Rhodes segment

This. To me this was the definition of perfect. HHH opened up the show, by coming out and thanking the fans, but he was drowned out by a hot crowd chanting. Thank You Hunter, on a loop for a minute, he told us that this was the most successful Mania on record, The gate record for last nights Raw, is the highest ever in company history. He brought out Cody Rhodes, to kick start this new era. Codys emotion was again visible, he basked in the crowds adulation, as they chanted. You deserve it in unison. He asked Samantha Irvine to announce him again as the WWE Universal Champion again. I love this man, his delivery was delivered with passion, and grace. He spoke about why he loves to compete in this business, his daughter. A video played of her saying Daddy fight, that broke all of my heart strings. He talked about how his dream has become a reality, whilst putting over TNA, and acknowledging Roman Reigns. This started a thank you Roman chant, that actually left me feeling a bit flawed. Cody also had an emotional video package, that showcased his story, from a rookie being paired up with Bob Holly, His smoke and mirrors heartache. Stardust, all the way to where he is today. This. Was stunning, he and. Hunter had a warm embrace, because his name is Cody Rhodes Ladies and gentlemen. This Brought out. The Rock out. And what came next was an awkward emotional ride. From Undertaker Chants, to the underling of family theme, and the feeling of this isn't over, that radiated through my body, to the belt swapping, that has left me wanting even more. The Rock came forward with his sense of legendary trashtalk, with added heartache. The Rock tells the fans that he has become Poochie, and now has to leave for a while, but. When he comes back. He wants to face Cody, whether he is Champion or not, he handed Cody something, and told him not to break his heart again. Oh My God. This. Was perfect. It lasted over 45 minutes, but it felt like 10. I loved all of this. Oh and one other thing Philadelphia. My mum. Didn't like your swearing, she thought that I was swearing at her. I ended up taking a hand to the back of my head. So yeah. F****** thanks Philadelphia.

Raw Champs show up

All the Raw Champions, were seen showing up in a row. ( not really ) Damien Priest looked intersting.

Shinsuke Nakamura vs Ilja Dragunov

Shinsuke Nakamura then jobbed out, to the NXT Champion Ilja Dragunov. I was not happy with this. Shinsuke deserves better than this, but it was well booked.

The Judgement Day segment

I loved all of this. From shutting down the doubters, that thought that. Rhea would lose to Becky on night 1. The Human Oven brought out Mami, she has a couple of problems to take of. but rest assure she will always be top. She brought Damian Priest, our new WWE World Heavyweight Champion, who was dressed like he had raided Prince's stage wardrobe. He asked the fans in attendance to rise with them. R truth joined in, like Mo Sizlack becoming the fourth member of the Munce family. The Miz tried to put a stop to this, But ends up failing when Truth puts them in a 2 on 3 handicap Match, and their partner is someone who can't be seen. The Match followed, and if i'm being honest I didn't like it. It felt a bit slow for my liking. John Cena was the third party that camew out to help Miz and Truth. Look. I know that not everyone likes Big Time John, but. I do like him. And he always brings a smile to my face. Rhea Ripley, was decked later on by Liv Morgan.

Mania Weekend attendance over all 4 shows

Apparently WWE have packed in over 200.00 thousand fans across the the weekend.

Indi Hartwell vs Roxanne Perez

Roxanne Perez, beat. Indi Hartwell in a flat TV Match, thanks to Candace Lerae. I have no Interest in anything that Indi Hartwell, or. Candace Lerae does. Roxanne Perez had a backstage meeting with Natalya. Oh no, run, runaway Roxanne, because if you don't, you will be trapped in the Natalya vortex.

Sami Zayn segment and Impromptu tag Match

I liked all of this. From Sami being greated by chants of you deserve it, the fans having a sing song to his entrance, to his excellent promo, he put over the fact he has ended Gunthers Intercontinental Championship reign, after 666 days, and just like that, i'm screaming out Iron Maiden lyrics. He thanked his family, and friends, only to be interrupted by. Ludvig Kaiser, and. Giovani Vinci both came out. Kaiser cut a promo filled to the brim with distain, that was thrown Sami's way. He called him a bum whilst taking shots at his appearance. Chad Gable then came to back Sami up. This brought on an Impromptu Tag Team. Which was excellent. The energetic bursts made the story. Sami, and Chad got the win, with a hellouva kick and roll up combo. Sami met up with Chad backstage later on, and agreed to give Chad a title shot, next week, in Sami's hometown of Montreal.

Chelsea Green segment and Match with Jade Cargill

Chelsea Green, then did her best, Wah Wah Wah. I didn't get a Match at Mania, by complaing to all of WWE's, who were standing in a row, she was then quickly dispatched by Jade Cargill. I liked this.

4 way main event Drew Mcintyre vs Bronson Reed vs Jey Uso vs Ricochet

I really liked this main event. From Drew's scathing promo calling Cm Punk a P****. Damien Priest got called a bondage Undertaker, and burying the Money In The Bank Briefcase. My fantasy booking brain went into overdrive, I think Drew will lose to Priest In Scotland, and win then Money In The Bank briefcase, and cash in on Priest on the same night, just to further decent into the realms of hypocrisy. The Match was great, the energetic bursts were filled with excitement, the physicality made the story. Ricochet put Bronson Reed through the announcers table, with a coast to coast 450 splash, which looked awesome, and Jey Uso got the win , when that Pesky little pepsi lover, held Drew's foot, allowing Uso to pick up the win.

Overview of Monday Night Raw

From a promo of the year contender, good, to, great in ring work, and an exciting look at who could be getting called up in the draft, at the end of the month. This years Raw after Mania was full of great moments, and enthralling conversation pieces, that fans will dine out on for months.

This years Monday Night Raw after Mania is a high 9/10.

WrestleMania Weekend Review

Intro

With all eyes descending on Philadelphia for WrestleMania. This time of year for wrestling fans is like christmas, you look forward to it all year round, for the build up, and the pagentry, and when it finally comes, euphoria takes over, the live energy radiants through the TV screen, and if you're their in person, then the levels get turned up a notch. WrestleMania has become something that people gravitate towards, like the Superbowl, or the FA Cup, if you live here in the UK. I love this time of year, so lets all hope for high drama, as the excitement reaches its climax.

Smackdown

Kevin Owens KO Show with Randy Orton

Kevin Owens kicked things off, with his KO show segment, with his special guest. Randy Orton, but. Before they could say a word. Logan paul appeared on the small screen, live from the stage of WrestleMania, from the stadium across the road. He laid in some Insults towards Kevin, and. Randy, calling them both toddlers in a sandbox. Logan said that he will retain his United States Championship. This caused Randy, and. Kevin to hunt him down. Both men left the arena, being chased by those awful versions of Batman villains. Austin Theory, and. Grayson Waller. This. Would act as a first hour storythread. Logan later turned up at the arena, he continued to taunt his opponents. But as it turned out. Austin Theory, and. Grayson Waller, had no luck finding them, because they were in the arena, hiding under the ring. Kevin, and. Randy attacked Logan, and KO helped put an RKO on him to end the second segment. I liked all of this.

The Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal

Ok. You know my thoughts on TV Battle Royals. I hate them, and this one was no differant. Bronson Reed got the win, and that hideous trophy. I get that this is to get more wrestlers on the mania card, but, this was flat, boring, and predictable.

The Final Testement segment

The Final Testement gave a stark warning to. Bobby Lashley, and. The Street Profits. I hated all of this segment. It was borderline unwatchable. Bobby and his mates answered this back later on.

Zelina Vega vs Electra Lopez

Electra Lopez, beat. Zelina Vega in an awful TV Match, but that wasn't the real talking point of the Match. Dragon Lee was found beaten backstage, later on it was confirmed that he has not been medically cleared, to compete at Mania with Rey Mysterio. Andrade would step into his shoes to face. Santos Escobar, and. The Human Oven. Dirty Dominik Mysterio. I'm not sure what to think of this.

Naomi. Bianca Belair, and. Jade Cargil segment

I liked this segment, even though Bianca, and. Naomi's chemistry was a bit awkward. The Inclusion of Jade Cargill helped put this back on track, when she thanked Damage Ctrl for stepping up, and looking into the eye of the storm. I know that Jade Cargill isn't the strongest of competitors, I feel she makes up for it in characteristics, now. Patrick cut the s***.

The New Catch Republic vs Waller and Theory

The New Catch Republic, beat. Waller, and. Theory, in a flat, and boring TV Match. Both teams were beaten down by. The Judgement in the aftermath. I'm still very excited to see the 6 pack challenge Match, because. I want to see my guys DIY crowned as new Tag Champs.

Bayley and Iyo Sky Promo video

We then got a promo video, focusing on Bayleys Match against Iyo Sky. I liked all of this.

LA Knight segment

After that was my highlight of the show. LA Knights segment, he called AJ Styles in the only way he knows how, by calling him a dummy, and dropping humerous bombs on him. I liked all of this. Yeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaah dummy. I wonder what it would be like if I had a dummy counter.

Jey Uso vs Solo Sikoa

The Match was thrown out, when Jimmy attacked his brother, and Mania opponent. Cody Rhodes, and. Seth Rollins came out to make the save. Cody then cut an impassioned promo, thanking the fans for believing in him, and told them that he is going to slap the taste out of Dwayne's mouth, and go on to shatter the foundation of The Bloodline, when he beats Roman for the belt, because when his story comes to an end, an even better one starts. Now, what is Cody elluding to? The Match was poor, but the end angle was excellent.

WrestleMania Night 1

Meek Hill intro video

Rap superstar. Meek Hill Introduced us to the show of shows, and I have to say. I really liked this.

Coco James sings the national anthem

Grammy award nominee. Coco James sang the American National Anthem, and she did a great job.

Becky Lynch vs Rhea Ripley WWE Raw Womens Championship

This. Was an excellent way to kick start the show. The links from NXT to Mania stardom is a real thing, and this Match examplified my point, because if you work hard enough, you can achieve anything. Both. Rhea, and. Becky put on a great showing here. From their entrances showcasing their heritage. Becky's voice giving a monologue from her just released autobiography, and. Rhea Ripley being played to the ring by Motionless In White. The Match flowed nicely, due to their chemistry being excellent, and the physicality followed the same pattern. The Match was given plenty of time to breathe. Both women had a minor chopfest. Becky reversed one of Rhea's submission holds. Becky hit Rhea with a manhandle slam, that led to a great nearfall, this would bring in some fantastic near falls, and awesome exchanges, that lead to Rhea to retain her belt, with a riptide. I liked all of this. What a great way to start the show.

6 Pack Challenge Ladder Match WWE Tag Team Championships

Oh my god. I had a lot of fun watching this. Awesome Truth. Balor and Priest. DIY. New Catch Republic. Waller and Theory, and. The New Day, all put their best foot forward, and put on a fun fast paced Match, that had me feeling thoroughly sports entertained. The ladder spots were crazy. R Truth proved why he is such a treasure. Tyler Bate living up to his name, as the big strong boy, with a ladder and human being sandwich. Bate and Dunne, doing a double moonsault from off the top of two ladders, onto a pile of humans. Theory and Waller, became the Smackdown Tag Champs. Waller was then thrown through a ladder by Tyler Bate, for his reward. Xavier woods then killed his own elbow, when he did an elbow drop on a ladder to Theory. Johnny Gargano then gave. Pete Dunne a slingshot through a table. Tomasso Ciampa gave Tyler Bate a widows peak from off the top of a Ladder, this would allow Awesome Truth to take the main prize on Monday nights. So much happened in this Match, so if I missed anything I apologize. This ran like a mile a minute, and I loved every minute.

Rey Mysterio Andrade vs Santos Escobar and Dirty Dominik Mysterio

This. Was another fun Match, even though last years, father vs son Match, holds a lot more weight, I did like this. Andrade and Rey hit a double stack crossbody, from the top rope. Jaquin Wilde went flying, is it a bird, is it a plane, no, it's Jaquin Wilde, the elevation he got here was immense. Dom got taken out by a couple of juice drinking luchadors, that turned out to Philadelphia Eagles Football players. Rey hit a 619 on Dom, and got the win for his team.

Jey Uso vs Jimmy Uso

With the build up looking electric through the TV screen, from the promo video, to Jey being walked to the ring by Lil Wayne. The option of family dynamics, have always had a mixed reception on the grandest stage. Owen vs Bret from Mania 10 is an all time classic, whilst, Matt vs Jeff Hardy from Mania 25 was, well, something. I think we can all agree with that. Fast forward 15 years, and I couldn't get into this. The story of the family dynamic, well flat, and the Match did not recover. The action was weak. Jey got the win over his twin brother, with a sphere and a frogsplash. This had a lot of potential, and it was a real letdown.

Bianca Belair. Jade Cargill, and. Naomi vs Damage Ctrl

Bianca Belair. Naomi, and Jade Cargill, beat. Damage Ctrl In a flat outing. But it did have its moments, Jade taking in a lot of the offence, whilst looking like Storm from X Men, as a comic book fan this popped me, and so did Bianca Belair cosplaying as Levar Burton from. Star Trek The Next Generation.

Sami Zayn vs Gunther Intercontinental Championship Match

This. Was my Match of the night, from Sami receiving love from his family, his wife and son, Chad Gable, and. Kevin Owens, before he went to the ring. Chad opted to not come out and be in his corner. But what came next, was a physical masterclass, both men put on a clinic in storytelling, and psychological violence. From Gunthers German Suplexes, Both men having a chopfest. Gunther acting like a backpack, whilst holding Sami in a sleeper hold. The near falls were well timed, and added drama to the proceedings, Both men exchanged hellouva kicks. Sami then performed an sick looking brainbuster on Gunther, that allowed him to hit another hellouva kick, and just like that. Sami Zayn ended Gunthers Intercontinental Championship reign. The emotion from was palpable as it radiated from Sami's face, to my TV screen. I have loved Gunthers Champion reign. It has felt relevant, and a great breathing ground for the Austrian, as he now should start to ascend to the main event scene.

The Attendance announcement

Adam Pearce, and. Nick Aldis then told the fans, that the attendance for the night. Which stood at. 72.543 fans in the building. Ok that's bulls***, I mean someone get onto the Philadelphia council to clarify this. I mean it's not like WWE to lie now is it, or shower on any other promotions parade.

The Rock and Roman Reigns vs Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins

With everything about the sunday main event, riding on this Match, this was a near hour long study in contrast in storytelling, and all of its malevalence, from the shield face off, to the battle of the families history, Both teams fighting all over the stadium, the slow methodic pace became enthrolling, the match was given plenty of time to breathe. The near falls were superb, and the story implications that could come from Roman sphering his cousin, will have dramatic consequences. The Rock taunted Codys mum who was sat at ringside. Cody put Dwayne through the announcers table, with a rock bottom. Seth got sphered through the barricade. This would lead to a sensational final sequence, that saw The Rock pin Cody, after shades of last year came back to haunt him. Cody dropped his guard, and was pinned after taking a peoples Elbow. Cody sat in the ring, wondering how he could have let this happen, again, as. The Bloodline walked back up the ramp, in a mirror image of how things ended last year. Bloodline rules will now reign over night 2, but could the implications of tonight be felt in another Match?

WrestleMania Night 2

The War And Treaty performance

The War And Treaty performed God Bless America, and my God. This. Was stunning. These guys have Incredible voices.

Stephanie Mcmahon is back

Night 2 off the show of shows, kicked off with. Stephanie Mcmahon taking tropes from her husband, by welcoming us to Night 2, by saying are you ready in his style, as a fan. I think this is the right move, that. WWE could have made.

Drew Mcintyre vs Seth Rollins WWE World Heavyweight Championship

I enjoyed all of this, from Drew, and. Seths over the top entrances, that highlighted the Highlander movie, and the other looking like a backdrop from an Elton John after party. Cm Punk joined the commentary team, and did a great Job. Drew wasted no time in giving Seth a claymore in the opening 10 seconds, this brought in a high level of physicality from the start, which gave me shades of Mania 28, but that quickly passed, and the Match grew to be a banger of an opener. The Near falls were great, the In ring work was solid, and the Match was given time to breathe, however, this brought Drews downfall into focus. He taunted Punk throughout the Match. Both men had a great back and forth encounter, with some fantastic exchanges, that saw Drew take the win with a claymore kick. In victory. Drew continued to taunt Punk, causing the voice of the voiceless, to attack Drew. But. Just seconds after that. Damian Priest came out, to cash in his Money In The Bank Briefcase, on a beaten Drew. Priest hit Drew with a south of heaven Chokeslam, to become our new WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Priest celebrated on the stage with his Judgement Day Family. Drew was left feeling shocked, and devastated. I do think that this is going to lead to a great program between the two, and with the adition of Cm Punk also in the fray. This World Heavyweight Championship scene, is going to look very interesting.

Bobby Lashley and The Street Profits vs The Final Testement Phily street fight

Ok. I'm going to be very honest, this was not a very good Street Fight, but there were a couple of highlights, 1. Bubba Ray Dudley as a guest referee. And 2. Snoop Dogg on commentary. Snoop Dogg was great here, he sounded like he was a bit tipsy, and I don't blame him. Because his and. Dr Dre's Gin And Juice drink was the Match sponsor. Snoop doing a Yogi Bear Impersonation was hilarious. The Match itself, fell a bit flat, in my opinion. Bobby and his mates got the win, and the ladies took an awkward bump through a table. Yeah. This was a real mix bag.

AJ Styles vs LA Knight

This to me, was a perfect example, of the build, being better than the Match itself. The in ring work fell a bit off to me, now I know I might be in the minority here, but just wasn't into this. Knight got the win, with his blunt force trauma finisher. This. Was a letdown.

Hall Of Fame

We then honoured the Hall Of Fame Class of 2024. I have to say. This. Was emotional to watch as. Bull Nakano. Muhammed Ali. Lia Maivia. Thunder Bolt Patterson. Paul Heyman all take their flowers, but what got me, was when. The U.S Express took their flowers. Both Greg The Hammer Valentine, and. Mike Rotunda, were visibly emotional. Windham is the father of the late Bray Wyatt, and Valentine is his godfather. The lantern spots using mobiles from the fans, were a great touch, throughout both nights.

Logan Paul vs Kevin Owens vs Randy Orton United States Championship

I left this Match feeling very entertained, even though I think the outcome was a tad weak. The Match, however was great. filled with great action, and hilarious entrances, from Logan driving a special Prime induced truck, complete with a pyro gunn. And Kevin giving Randy a lift, because walking down that ramp looked tiring. ( not ) Kevin was greated by Sami in a nice return spot from the night before. The Physicality was handed out in spades. Kevin hit a rolling double cannonball, on both. Logan, and. Randy, he and Kevin would later get their wires crossed. Randy turned back the years with a double ddt. Kevin hit a nice looking moonsault onto Logan. The near falls were well paced. I Show Speed, ( I have no idea who he is ) showed up in that Prime bottle, and was taken out by Orton, with an Rko on the announcers table. The energetic bursts sold the match, and Logan Paul retained with a frogsplash, after Randy and Kevin had a great final Exchange. I personally wanted to see Kevin take the Gold, because of were you could go in a fantasy booking sense. But given the fact that Summerslam is in cleveland this year. I think it's safe to say, that he will main event the show. So I guess it makes sense.

Iyo Skye vs Bayley WWE Womens Championship Match

This. Was very nearly my Match of the weekend, both ladies gave their hearts in this Match. Their Entrances looked great. Bayley looked like an Egyptian Queen, Whilst Iyo tapped into her character type perfectly. This. Was a fast paced fun, physical Match, that worked to showcase their excellent chemistry. What unfolded was superb game of chess. With excellent near falls, and with a final exchange that would not just see the victim overcome the bully, but would set a positive message, in times when it is needed more than ever. This. Was simply awesome. Bayley got the win, and is our new WWE womens Champion.

Attendance record

Snoop Dogg then informed us about the overall attendance for the weekend is. 145,420 had packed out the Financial Field in Philadelphia. Ok. Snoop. I think you're high here. It was actually 145,298 that actually attended over both nights. I think he had been drinking to much Gin And Juice, if he hadn't already. But what came next, is something that I will never forget.

WWE Universal Championship Cody Rhodes vs Roman Reigns Bloodline Rules

Over the many years of me being a wrestling fan. I have only cried a couple of times, and this was one of them. The last time was when Hogan turned heel in 96, fast forward 28 years later, I'm turning 37 in a couple of months, and when Hogan turned face I was only 9 years old, however these were differant tears. Life has a funny habit of catching you off guard, the tears that fell when I was 9, are now a study in contrast to how I feel today. Cody, and. Roman are revered, whilst Hogan is a nasty after thought. What we got here, was nothing short of special. From Codys entrance showcasing a broken Mad Max nightmare, of a world burning to its embers, to Roman being walked down accompanied by classical musicians, this would sharpen the scene for what was to come. Both men fighting in the fans. Their epic face off, and the physicality was on point. This. Was one year of storytelling, told to life affirming perfection. The Near falls told the story beautifully, as Romans empire slowly started, and eventually would fall down. The Cameos from the likes of. John Cena. The Rock, and. The Undertaker all made sense, and were woven into the story with ease. When you add all of this together, what you get, is what unfolded. A four year arc meeting its crescendo. This acted like a perfect TV series coming to an end, and with. HHH having a penance for utilising TV counteracting as acts. I feel like this is the end for The Bloodline. Because this was Codys time to crowned. He is our new Universal Heavyweight Champion. Cody beat Roman with 3 Cody cutters, and after the three count sounded, you could only hear the sound of a thousand cannons go off, when the fans lifted proceedings into another stratosphere. Cody was visibly emotional, and this was felt all around. Cody was met in the ring by Sami Zayn. LA Knight. Kevin Owens, and. Randy Orton, his family and friends, and. Negitive one, the son of the late Brody Lee. Cody took to the microphone, he thanked the fans, and HHH, for everything. The emotion was felt by all. Michael Cole. Corey Graves, and. Samantha Irvine clearly were taken by the moment. At this time, you could feel a sense of change sweep across the industry, gone are the days of backstage unrest, bullying, and late changes under the banner of, creative has nothing for you. The days of entertainment are gone, so now Pro wrestling can run.

Overview Of The Weekend

I have nothing else to add other than this was perfect, With the finishing of one big storyline, and the exciting prospects to come in the future. In this time we are living in, it's important to take stock into the past, and see how it can help the future. The Bloodline storyline has been nothing short of exceptional, and something that will shape WWE for the next coming years, and with another Mania filled with stellar action in the books, a new era isn't near. It's here, and it has a bright future. Then. Now. Together. Forever.

WrestleMania 40 night is a high 9/10.

And Night 2 is a perfect 10/10.

Etched In Blood how WWE saved itself, and came back to prominance

You Can Believe That humble beginings

In October of 2018, it was confirmed that. Roman Reigns battle with leukemia would rear its ugly head, causing him to miss nearly 5 months of TV. This came at a time when. WWE had put a lot of focus on Roman, to be the next John Cena, a good guy babyface, that was always willing to fight the good fight, by the time of his return Match  in the build to Wrestlemania 35, against Drew Mcintyre, after being cleared, and put in remission. Reports started to circulate towards the back end of the year that Roman, wasn't happy with his creative. This. Was also felt by the fans, who were sick of him playing the good guy, and were aking for him to change, and turn heel, however. The hands of change did come about. In unfortunate circumstances.

2020

In the early part of 2020. WWE found itself in a strange place, that would eventually get worse. The Royal Rumble was the only well received. PLE, at that time. Thanks to the return of Edge. And the burial of Bray Wyatt in Saudi Arabia, made the internet burn. But what was around the corner, would have long lasting effects. The Covid 19 pandemic turned the entire sports world on its head, and with. Wrtestlemania just around the corner, and the card near enough fully in place. WWE had to think on their feet, as the situation got worse. Many have said that, wrestling should not have taken place over this time, due to the health risks, and I understand the arguement. but. WWE has always had this mantra of. The show must go on. However, at what cost. Roman chose to stay at home, due to the fact that his wife was pregnant, and his prior battle with leukemia. Which meant his Match against Goldberg was off the cards, In this time it is reported that conversations between WWE, and. Reigns had started, about him coming back, when guidelines were put in place. It was at this time that Vince decided to turn Roman heel, and create his new alter ego. The Head Of The Table.

The right time, and the right place

Back in september 2020. I'm open to admitting that I was not in a happy place. My worklife was a mess, and. I was getting pulled from pillar to post as a result. This would mean that I was happy on the outside, whilst feeling sick, and unwanted on the inside. This did not make for a nice cocktail. But the one thing that worked as an escape, was wrestling. and what a time it was. Monday Night Raw, was recording its worst viewing figures in the company history. NXT was losing in the wednesday night wars to Aew Dynamite. And Romans heel turn on the blue brand, was being seen as a revalation. His days as a cool and calm good, were over, and here stood, a manipulative, controlling, puppeteer, that would use emotional love, to reel in his own family, by the order of acknowledgement. I was a fan from the start.

The Parralells of TV On Wrestling And Wrestling On TV

As the story would develop over the coming months, and years. Circumstances beyond anyones control, would take over. In the middle of 2021. Mcmahons out of touch booking decisions, would seep onto the blue brand. WWE at this time time, was starting to see a trend that started in 2019, continue, when fans were able to return to arenas, live show ticket sales continued to decrease, thanks to dodgy creative, and not even the return of big stars, like. Becky Lynch, and. Brock Lesnar, could help them. while Aew's were holding steady. After bringing in. Adam Cole. Bryan Danielson, and. Cm Punk. who made a tearjerking return to wrestling. Controversy would rear its head, when. Vince was outed of his own company, in disgrace. And HHH would take over the creative duties. Under the final days of Vince's creative. The Bloodline was dwindling at best, because when Vince created a stable. Hunter would turn them into a family, with the aditions of. Solo Sikoa, and. Sami Zayn. It was clear to me, and still is, even now, that. HHH was heavily influenced by TV shows like. Game Of Thrones. The Sopranos, and. Sons Of Anarchy, with the centre core of family, acting as the corner of manipulation. Roman Is Tony Soprano, and. Clay Morrow, two men who never rely on their convictions at the expense of others. Jimmy, and. Jey Uso are both. Juice, a character that has untrustworthy qualities, and a compounded heart, full of confliction. Paul Heyman is sherif unser, a bent police sherif, who would turn a blind eye for cash. Solo Sikoa is a prospect, who just wants to do his best to impress his leader, whilst Sami Zayn is. Jax Teller. A man who wants to bring in change, at the behest of the hand that feeds him. When you put together all of these ingridients. The storylines were given time to breathe, as, grooming, manipulation, and betrayal didn't just become the norm in WWE. It became must watch TV.

The acts

Like any good trilogy, for instance The Godfather, the stories to each film, are told in detailed acts, which explains. Sami being brought into the family, at the end of Survivor Series Wargames 2022, the levels of untrust that put him on trial, to his act of defiance at the Royal Rumble 2023, becoming a turning for what was to come. Sami losing to Roman at Elimination Chamber last year. Jimmy, and. Jey, losing their Undisputed Tag Team Championships, to. Kevin Owens, and. Sami Zayn at Mania. Cody not finishing his story. Roman, and. Solo losing to. Kevin, and. Sami in Saudi Arabia. And. Roman getting pinned by his cousins at Money In The Bank, only for one of them, to come back into the fold, one month later, made for one hell of a ride. If the Vince era of The Bloodline was act 1. Then the HHH era is act 2, and as we all know. Act 2 is superior to act 1.

The Dwayne effect and the rise of The Final Boss

In january 2024, on the same day that TKO signed the deal with Netflix, and two days before Janelle Grants Lawsuit was filed against WWE. Dwayne The Rock Johnson, was placed on the board of directors of TKO. Which makes perfect sense, given the fact that Endeavour has reprosented Dwayne, since the start of his acting career. Dwayne teased The Rock vs Roman Reigns, on the Day 1 edition of WWE's flagship show Monday Night Raw, by shutting up Jinder Mahal. And would later on, put himself in the main event of Wrestlemania, at the behest of the Royal Rumble Winner. Cody Rhodes. This caused major fan backlash. Which I get, but in hindsight, and in my opinion, It was a complete work, because it would be silly for WWE to throw away a years worth of storytelling, and build. Yes it would have brought in a lot of mainstream attention, but at what cost, this caused a major pivert, at a sensational Las Vegas press conference, that paved the way for excellent promos, with stellar deliveries.

Were do we go from here

At the time of writing, the Mania main events haven't happened just yet, because i'm putting the finishing touches to this piece on the afternoon of Night 1. But I think it's safe to say, that the plans for Mania 41 are already being set in motion. And with a Saudi Arabia Match also on the cards potentially. I think It's safe to say that the Blood will always run deep in WWE.

Dan vs Vince. The Downfall of two entertainment Juggernauts

Warning

I must let you know, that I will be discussing themes of. Sexual assault. Racism, and. Harrassment, so reader discretion is advised from this point on.

My thoughts

This past few months has been revealing, and heartbreaking, in equal measure, as the downfall of Vince Mcmahon, took centre stage in late january, the world watched as his house started to unfold, and eventaually burn down to the ground, after Janelle Grants lawsuit against. Mcmahon, and. John Laurinitis came to light. Back when all this came out. I took it on myself to read the whole 68 page dosier, that was made public. And as I sit here on a sunday evening writing this. I'm sorry to say that I have the same feeling of disgust, slither down my throat. Earlier on this week a 4 part documentary aired in the states called. Quiet On Set The Darkside Of Childrens TV, which looked at Nickelodeon, and their horrific standards and practices under one man, who would go on to make the network millions, with a plethora of shows, that he created. Dan Schneider. Even though the docu series is yet to air here in the UK. I have watched multiple Youtube videos on the subject over this past week, and the one thing that ran through my mind was this. Dan Schneider, and. Vince Mcmahon, in my opinion, are not as differant as you think. here's why.

Show creations, and the stars who were made

Back in the 1980's In the America, the political landscape was changing, and so was the TV landscape. Kids TV Channels were slowly becoming the norm, and. Nickelodeon was at the front of the Pack, and when it came to wrestling it was having a boom period. Vince Mcmahon had gained power from his Father, and turned the. WWF went from a small promotion, into what would later become sports entertainment. Vince created the careers of. The Ultimate Warrior. Hulk Hogan, and. The Macho Man Randy Savage. In that same time  his true colours to some started to come out, Which would meet the first of two heads in 2022, when accusations of rape, and hush money payments would surface. Fast forward to the 1990's, and. Nickelodeon is firing on all cylinders, with shows like. All That. Keanan and Kel, and. The Amanda Show, all becoming ratings powerhouses. These shows would go on to make stars of. Keanan Thompson. Drake Bell, and. Amanda Bynes, this time period saw both men degrade women that worked for them, from financial acts, to sexual harrassment, with some airing for the world to see on Vince's shows. Dan would also degregate females in my opinion in the worst way, by making them feel inferior to their male counterparts. In ways that I can't talk about.

Freedom and Power

With Vince being given a free pass to do what he wants by the USA Network. Schneider would lie to Nickelodeon executives, in order to hide sexual discrepencies. But. What he could not hide was something that was in plain sight, the abuse of one of his stars. Drake Bell. Now I can't say much about what happened to Bell, because it's truly awful. But. It's not the first time that abuse has happened in the entertainment industry, and unfortunately It won't be the last. Child abuse would also have impact on wrestling. In the early part of the decade. The ring boy scandal would act as something that the WWF, would try to bury, whilst the kids that worked on Dan's Shows, would have to suffer through racist, and inapropriate jokes, that would have long lasting effects into adulthood. Even though Dan didn't abuse Bell personally, it was the dialect coach that Nickelodeon employed that did. This. Has left me to ask one thing. Where was the protection for these kids, when all of this awful behavior took place, because. The parents were banned from the set.

The 2000s

With the then WWF's attitude era, slowly dying out, the company would take a more aggressive approach to their TV output, and empthasize even more on sexuality, which looking back on it with 2024 eyes, is not easy. Lita. Tori Wilson, and Trish Stratus, have all gone on record, to say, how degraded they felt after certain segments. In this same time Schneider would go on to create. Drake and Josh. Zoey 101, and. I Carly, all of which would come under scrutiny for sexualised content.

The 2010's and beyond

By the time the early 2010's. Both Dan Schneider, and. Vince Mcmahon, could both be looked at in a parallel space. Ego. Power, and. Greed, gave both men a nine lives complex. But This would become their downfall. In 2018 Nickelodeon parted ways with Dan Schneider, and his production company. Schneiders Bakery, after multiple allegations about Dan started to surface. Video footage of him acting strange with the stars, on the set of his shows would later surface, and with his focus on feet being the centre piece. Vince In 2022, retired from the WWE in disgrace, when those rape allegations surfaced in Time magazine. Vince would later bully his way back onto the board, in january 2023, but just a year later, he was out again, when. Janelle Grants lawsuit came out. Dan Schneiders shows, in no shock continue to get repeated on both sides of the Atlantic. Janette Mccurdy, and. Ronda Rousey. Have both given their thouights on both men respectivly.

Were do we go from here

All I want from both industries is this. I want sensibility, equility, and safeguarding practices to shine through, so that this doesn't happen again. In order to be human, we have to act human. TLL. Talk. Listen, and. Learn, and believe survivors.
