The Rise And Fall and Rise Again Of Cm punk

Intro

Real is a word that gets taken as a poisoned challice, in the world of Pro Wrestling, however, when you look at a character like Cm punk, the study is a fascinating look into the eyes of an underdog. His WWE exit would send shockwaves through the wrestling industry, and the aftershocks, are still felt, until this day.

Pettiness And hardship

In the following months that followed Punks exit from the WWE, would spell controversy and confusion, in the later days of 2014, he would appear on Colt Cobana's Art Of Wresatling Podcast. He reflected on his time in the company, whilst claiming this to be an honest talk, and not a shoot, this was a bare bones insight, into how a performer feels, when their back is being forced into a corner, but there was legal ramifications came with this, that would see the end of a friendship. Punk would label  WWE medic Dr Amann, as imcompatent, from being made to work whilst hurt, this would lead to some nasty legal backfire. WWE tried to sue Punk and Cobana, and the pair counteracted this. Punk flipped the bill for this, and when he stopped. Cobana sued his friend. Punk counter sued, but this dropped, when details of Cobana's living situaion, became known. A friendship had dissolved, for the world to see. Their friendship never recovered.

UFC

In the later part of 2014, it was announced that Cm Punk had signed with the MMA giant, the. UFC. As a big UFC fan, his two fight stint, could only be described, as a colossal failure, his stock had plummeted, and his perception was made even worse, when after his defeat to Mickey Gill at UFC 202, he cut a wrestling style promo in the octagon, and this would alienate fans. Punks business ventures would cross into the world of comic books, he lend his talents to Marvels Shang-Chi. Drax, and. Thor series, and Vertigo's Strange Stories. This would be met with a varied amount of success.

The First Dance

The year was 2020, the world had been chucked into a state of panic, and chaos, as the global pandemic, had taken a solid grip on society, as the world was told by health experts, to stay at home, it was at this time, when Netflix unveiled The Last Dance Documentary Series, in which the 98 season of The Chicago Bulls NBA team was put under a compulsive microscope. One year before this would debut, a renegade wrestling company would debut. AEW. In October of 2019 their flagship tv show Dynamite would debut on TNT, and would go head to head with With WWE NXT, in the what would be called the Wednesday Night Wars, but as AEW's success within the first year of being on air, would see the a glance of positivity, that would turn into a ground swelling move, that the wrestling world hasn't seen before, and it was at this time, that sections of the internet, would ask the question. What if the voice of the voiceless, came back to the industry, that he grew to despise? This would become a reality. Aew throughout the month of June. July, and. August, of 2021, would lay out small Easter Eggs, as the motion of his return would start to take shape, and on the 20th of August. AEW Rampage, came live from The Allstate Arena in Chicago. Punk was back, he had returned to the industry, that had taken lots from him. The emotion, was written all over his face, as the fans embraced him, back into the family, but it was his new found family that would let him down.

AEB

Punk was back in wrestling, and the world was starting to get back to some sort of normality, however. AEW was hitting it's stride, and giving fans something new, that was satisfying on a new level, however backstage issues and politics, would air its nasty head. AEW was also the home of Scott Colton, aka. Colt Cabana, this in my opinion would act, as a catalyst for what was going to happen. In Punks debut year, he would go on to have feuds, with the likes of Eddie Kingston. Hangman Adam Page, and of course his legendary run with MJF. The MJF feud would turn Max into a Star, whilst Scott Colton, was relegated to Tony Khans newly purchased ROH promotion, this would cause confussion, and, crossed wires. On the 25th 2002 of may edition of Dynamite. Page would cut a promo on Punk, that would start a verbal fire, as issues from  backstage, had started to play out in front of the world. Hangman had got his wires crossed, and thought that Scott had been let go. This was a marriage of misconduct, from all parties involved. Punk won their Championship, at that years Double Or Nothing, however he would injury his foot, during a trios match, when he was teaming with FTR. This would poor petrol on an already lit fire, when rumours about The Elite selling Stories adout him, would get leaked to the dirt sheets. I think this happened from day one, and if that's the case, then jealousy is a nasty thing. In his time off, due to injury. Punks anger would form, and when he returned in late August of that year, he let his feelings known, calling. Hangman Adam Page a Coward. Punk  then entered a programme against Jon Moxley for the AEW World Heavyweight Championship. Punk would win the belt in his home state of Chicago, at that years All Out PPV, and in the media scrum afterwards, he went all out scorched earth, as he verbally layed into The Elite, and the Company, this would start a fight, which is now known as Brawl Out. The Young Bucks, and. Kenny Omega kicked in Punks dressing room door, and a fight ensued, suspensions were handed out, and this left a blackeye on Tony Khans business. This is something that I feel could've been avoided, all involved were to blame in my opinion, and if Tony Khan had implented a better strategy, when it came to dealing with the media, things could have been sorted, but instead things got to the point were festering feelings, had become normality.

Firings And Fallouts

Nine months had passed since Brawl Out, and. AEW was getting ready to launch their new Saturday night show Collision. This. Was seen, as a big deal. Aew's tv deal with Time Warner was growing, and the impending return of a ice cream bar loving Chick Magnet, was on the horizon, however there were road blocks. Punk had told Tony Khan that he would only come back, if his friend Ace Steel could write his parts, clear deliberation then took place, and the head of Time Warner David Zaslof, and. Tony Khan, then put the wheels in motion, and. Punk would return for the first broadcast of the show, on the 17th of june 2023. This Summer was turn out to be an important turning for Tony Khan. AEW All In would be his company's first trip to these shores, and with Wembley Stadium being the destination, all of the wrestling worlds eyes would be looking at this show, with tribalistic fans, waiting for a sign, of a downfall, and, well they got it. The backstage situation during this time, was reported as toxic, and with a lack of leadership, things went array. Jack Perry wanted to do a stunt, in which he would plant his fist through a car window, using real glass, this got shot down, by agents, but then in came Cm punk, and things got worse. In my opinion, this had nothing to do with Punk, and he should've stayed out of it. Fast forward to the 27th of August. Wembley Stadium. Jack Perry did a spot in his match against Hook, in Which. Hook was planted back first onto a car widscreen, he then walked over to the camera, and uttered the words. It's real glass cry me a river. Punk, and Perry would get into a scuffle backstage, this would be see punk exit the company, as he and Perry would both be suspended. Punk was fired, as an air of confusion started to grow.

The Rise

Punk would stay quiet for at least 8 months, and by this point, he had already returned back to the WWE, at last years Survivor Series, which would cause the internet to suffer a meltdown, as tribalistic views continued to seep into the industries dna. Aew struggled to answer to this. The week of WrestleMania. Punk did an interview with Ariel Helwani, for his MMA hour podacst, and he laid bare what really happened at Wembley, he said that he shoved Perry a bit, and put him in a headlock, whilst saying  that Tony Khan, was not a boss, just a nice guy. Adam copeland, then went out on Dynamite, just over 24 hours after, and gave his best version of a ra ra speach, in a vain hope to tell fans, don't worry everything's ok. AEW the following week would then show the footage, and. Tony Khan came off looking like a petchulant child. Punks recent match, at the time of writing, was when he faced Drew Mcintyre at Summerslam, in a match that's divided fans, personally I liked it, but I get why some fans are divided, his lack of ring time due to injuries, is concerning, but from my perspective, with age, comes worry, and with worry comes ring rust, we as fans can't possibley comprehend that, because with Cm Punk, there comes controversy, and with controversy, creates cash, never a truer word has ever been spoken.

AEW Collision Review

Apologies

Ok, guys I'm going to have to apologise, for the lateness of this review. If you're living here in the UK, then you can understand, that were cooking, and after doing a full day in my day jod yesterday. I just wanted to take some time to myself, so I'm going to give this to you a day later, once again my apologies.

Darby Allin and Hologram vs The Premier Athletes

Ok. I think The premier Athletes would be proud of me this week, Whilst I was watching their match, against Darby Allin and Hologram. I ate a fruit, and not my usual of 2, packs of more to share Malteasers. The match was solid, and watchable. Darby, and. Hologram got the win, with a roll up, and one other thing. I love Smart Mark Sterling.

Thunder Rosa vs Deonna Purrazzo Texs Bull Rope match

This. Was, a, bloodsoaked, chaotic, fun ride, I loved all of this. Thunder Rosa came away victorious. This. Was my match of the weekend. You need to go out of your way to watch this.

FTR vs The Outrunners

FTR, beat. The Outrunners, in a fun match. You need to go and watch The Outrunners vingnette beforehand, because it's great.

Kip Sabian Segment

Am I the only person, who wants Kip Sabian to batter Nick Wayne, and to be honest. I don't blame him, the pair will meet on Rampage.

MJF Segment

MJF, cut a great promo after his match, this past wednesday, from Dynamite. He's in my country at the minute, lord help us.

Rush vs Preston Vance

Rush, beat. Preston Vance, in a decent tv match, and the only thing I could think of was. That's for Negitive One.

Jack Perry Segment

AEW, then reaired Jack Perry's segment from this past wednesday, and you know what, I'm hungry. I could murder a Taco Bell right about now.

Swerve Strickland vs Tomohiro Ishii Open Challenge

Swerve Strickland, beat. Tomohiro Ishii, in a solid Open Challenge match. This. Was a well booked, and crafted exhibition piece. I'm so pleased that I'm going to be able to see The Stone Pitbull, at. Wembley.

Claudio Castagnoli Segment

Claudio Castagnoli, and. Okada in Cardiff. How much does train travel from London to Cardiff cost. I'm not joking. I might call in sick for work.

Kris Statlander and Stokeley Hathaway

Ok. I loved this segment. Because it was so ridiculous. Lexi Nair, presented this segment. She showed them the footage from Rampage, this focused on how Willow has good values, whilst. Stokeley, and. Statlander, don't. Stokeley acted like a martyr, when Lexi tried to tell stokeley that he's in a match at Wembley, but he did his best Homer Simpson denial impersonation. And when the penny dropped he hated this development. Kris Statlander, then said that they accept Willows challenge for a match at Wembley. Her, and. Stokeley, vs her, and. Tomohiro Ishii. I love this development. Like I said earlier. I can't wait to see The Stone Pittbull, at. Wembley.

MXM and Top Flight Segment

Top Flight vs MXM in the battle of, who's the most stylish, oh go on then AEW if you must.

Hikaru Shida vs Aleah James

Hikaru Shida, beat. Aleah James in a squash match. Aleah James, working stateside, all I have to say about is this, if you work hard enough, you can achieve anything. Shida then called out Mercedes Mone, for a match this wednesday, for her TBS Championship.

JR Sits Down With Bryan Danielson

From blessings. Humble beginings, and health worries. This. was a facinating look into the eyes of a contender, and now for the elephant in the room. JR looked terrible, and like I've said before, this man needs looking after. I'm not trying to be mean, and I know he's faced his fair share of health issues of late. I'm just concerned. That's all.

The Bang Bang Gang vs The House Of Black

There was a lot riding on this match, from the good phy sicality, to. Christian Cage having the match thrown, when sphered Buddy Matthews. I knew something like this would happen, when Cage was announced as the special guest referee. I see what you did there AEW, so they've given up taking swipes at Cm Punk. I wasn't a fan of the finish, my god it was bad.

Overview Of AEW Collision

I liked this. In my opinion this was the best of the arlington shows, the action flowed nicely, and the segments didn't out stay there welcome.

This weeks Collision is a solid 8/10.

Friday Night Smackdown Review 10.8.2024

Dedication

Ok, guys i'm going to do something that I rarely do. This Friday Night Smackdown is dedicated to. Kevin Sullivan, his mind, and talent will always be missed. RIP to the taskmaster.

Cody Rhodes Segment

Cody Rhodes kicked off the broadcast, in the only he knows how, by basking in the admoration of the fans, he spoke about, asking, what happens next? He has someone in mind, who he would like to face at Bash In Berlin, for the Undisputed Championship, but, before he could get a word out. Solo Sikoa walked out, being flanked by his gaggle of p****s, he said that he would be champion, if it wasn't for Roman, and told Cody told, that he wants a rematch, but, Cody wasn't budging, and told Solo that he's delusional, if he thinks he's getting another shot at his belt, because he couldn't get the job done, when he had the chance, at the behest of his own family. Kevin Owens comes out, just when Solo's group of hyenas, started to gather around the ring. The Bloodline backed off, and. Solo told Cody, that he wasn't done with him, but first he has to deal with Roman. Cody then called Kevin into the ring, and offered him a chance, to face cody at Bash In Berlin. Kevin sold the look of confliction, he declined his offer, because he felt that he hasn't earnt it. Cody, told. Kevin, to listen to the fans, they were chanting. You deserve it, in unison. Cody told him, that he's going to talk to Nick Aldis, to make this official. Later on both men were seen talking to Nick, he was going to give the shot to Roman, this angered Kevin. Nick agreed with Cody, and made the match for. Bash In Berlin. I liked all of this.

Atown Down Under vs The Street Profits Tag Team Tournament

The Street Profits, beat. Atown Down Under, in a solid tv match. Austin Theory, later on put his foot in his mouth, when he got Nick Aldis, to put. Grayson Waller in a match against Kevin Owens next week.

Tiffany Stratton Segment

Tiffany Stratton, was backstage, starting her new side project, becoming a party planner. She was trying to organise. Nia's Championship celebration, for next week, when she was interrupted by Pretty Deadly, who asked if she would like to audition for Pretty Deadly the musical, this went down like a led balloon. Chelsea Green, and. Piper Niven, who wasted no time in acting like schoolyard bullies, by attacking Tiffany's dress sense, and calling her untrustworthy. Pretty Deadly the musical, is something I need to see.

Jade Cargill vs Alba Fyre

Jade Cargill, beat. Alba Fyre. In a flat tv match. Blair Davenport, then came out and attacked Jade. Naomi came out to make the save.

LA Knight Segment and Santos Escobar vs Andrade

LA Knight was out next, and he was in a jovial mood, he said that it felt great stomping on Logan Paul, last week at Summerslam, he's the champ, he's made it, and he has an understanding that he's now a marked man, he then said, that he hit it and quit when it came to Logan, and now, he can't stop being the champion. He was then greated by Santos Escobar, both men had a decent promo dual, as the fans told Santos what they thought of him, by chanting. You suck in unison. Santos would then face Andrade in a No1 contenders match, for Knights United States Championship. This. Was brilliant. The match flowed like a fine wine, and both men showcased their great chemistry. Yes, there were shenanigans, courtesy of. Corbin, and. Crews, taking out. Angel, and. Humberto, to an appearance from Carmelo Hayes, who caused the finish, when, he distracted Andrade. This would allow Santos, to roll him up for the win. I liked all of this.

DIY vs Pretty Deadly Tag Team Tournament

DIY, beat. Pretty Deadly in a standard tv match, with their shatter machine finisher. This was decent, also. DIY's walkthrough camera shot promo, was great.

The Bloodline Segment

This. Was. Excellent, from the promise, to its execution. Solo came out, and instantly got the fans to acknowledge him, he then wasted no time, in calling out Roman Reigns, by saying that if he wants his hulafala, then he's going to have to come and get it. Roman comes out, and instantly, Solo orders his Hyenas to feed. Roman proceeds to take all of them out, all whilst Solo looked like a pitbull, who got caught stealing the last biscuit. Roman gave him a superman punch, he picks up the hulafala, but it got taken away from him by. Tama Tonga, and. Tonga Loa. Roman deals with Tama, and then proceeds to beat the hell out of Tonga Loa, as Solo walked back up the ramp.

Overview Of Friday Night Smackdown

I liked this weeks show. The resurgence of Roman Reigns, was teased perfectly, and the rest of the show fell into place from there.

This weeks Friday Night Smackdown is a solid 8/10.

The Rise And Fall. And Rise Again Of Cm Punk Pt1

Intro

If you look into a mans eyes, what do you see, because if you're like me, then you suffer with a cult of personality, from the aspect of loneliness, that sparks a fire Inside, to the killswitch, that burns, to the point, that a society can be built, however, Controversy, has followed this man around, like a moldy old Muffin, from quitting a major company, at the height of his fame. Tiresome ethics, breaking up a friendship, and all the legal ramifications that came back, to this mans everloving ability, to hold the fans attention in his hands. This is. The Rise And Fall. And Rise Again Of Cm Punk.

Uneasy Early beginnings

Philip Brooks, aka. Cm Punk has had storied career in Pro Wrestling, started at a young age, he wasn't the most liked of children, whether it was at school, or at home, even though Punk wasn't abused, he did see alcoholism in his own family, from a young age, unfold in front of his eyes. The Family aspect, is what you make, and when things got bad, he went to live with his friends, after favouritism took a toll. It was here when he looked at his life, and realised that he was never going to drink alcohol. So he ventured to go down a differant path. Wrestling, so he and his friend, started up their own backyard promotion, that would use, fields, and. Backyards, as their Allstate Arena. But, this wouldn't last, as family mistrust would end the promotion, and his relationship, with his brother. His Brother stole money from the pair, when he was managing their funds. This would end their relationship. But it was Punks love of. Wrestling. Comics, and. Punk music, that carried him through, at these times, as the he embraced the straight edge lifestyle, and used the tools that came with that. A fire was starting to strike, as the first match was then lit.

ROH 2002-2006

Punk, would then get signed to ROH, after working his way around the states on the indie scene. It was here when he got noticed by Gabe Sapolsky, who at the time was taking the bookings for ROH. It was here when Punk really learnt his craft, from the detail within physicality, theory, and of course, the art of storytelling. Punk was an old school fan, who has sighted Rowdy Roddy Piper, as his favourite wrestler, because he could relate to him, on a personal level. Punk would go on to have rivalries, with the likes. Chris Hero. Eddie Guerro. Bryan Danielson. Austin Aries. AJ Styles, and of course. Samoa Joe, his matches with joe, were stunning, and a masterful look at were the industry was head, or could, be heading, however. Punk would leave ROH, and go and work for OVW, which was at the time the developmental brand, for the WWE. I Think Punks air of hypocrisy also came to light at this time. Just months before he would make the jump, he and Samoa Joe would sit down, and do a shoot interview, in which both men would lay into, their future employers.

Paul Heyman

During Punks time in OVW he would get the chance, to work with Paul Heyman, a man who is responsible for the careers of. Stone Cold Steve Austin. Chris Jericho. The Dudley Boyz, and. Rey Mysterio, he was also the mastermind behind ECW, a roughneck, renegade promotion, that emmulated from Philidelphia. Punk relished the oppotunity, and has gone on record, calling himself a Paul Heyman guy. Paul would go to bat for Punk, by saying to the main office, that they had a guy who's ready to go, so it was inevitable that Punk would be debuting on WWE's main roster in the near future.

Punks 1st WWE Run

Punk would make his debut on WWE television, for. Paul Heymans revamped ECW brand, a brand that was a shell of its former self, however some talent, did benefit from this type of exposure. Punk would be one of this guys. He would matches with the likes of John Morrison, and. The Big show. By the time 2006 had finished. Punk had gone from Internet darling, to a bonafide star, on the rise in WWE, 2007, would also take on significance, as he was entered in the WWE's picture for the intercontinental Championship, his star at this time was getting brighter, his matches at this were starting, to give him a bigger platform, his triple threat match, against. The Miz, and. John Morrison, from that years Survivor Series, is a match that shouldn't be slepped on, and his 2006 match against Justin Credible, is another underrated affair.

Misfires and mistakes

In 2008 Punk was entered in that years Mania MITB Ladder match, a match that he would go on to win, This would allow Punk a Championship, for what belt he felt like, at anytime, this would a catastophic mistake on WWE's part, because after he had cashed in on a weakened Edge, and became Champion. WWE would pull a nasty creative, they had no plans for him, so instead of having him defend his new found prize, at that years Unforgiven PPV, against six other opponents, he was involved in a pathetic beatdown segment at the hands of Legacy, that would lead to him being stripped of the belt. This is something that, at the time, fans, and Punk hated. It felt the ground had opened up, and if you wanted something nice, then you were looked at like a chump, these were'nt great times for WWE, there failure to create new stars, was starting to become evidentally clear, as there cereal chumping cash cow, was starting to get parents to part with their hard earnt cash, turning their little prides of joy, into multicoloured little minions. This would be something that punk would go on to attack, in his Pipebomb promo. Thankfully 2009 and 2010, would see his star rise, feuds with the likes of. William Regal. Jeff Hardy, and. The Undertaker, would elevate him even more, and then he was told, that the company were going to turn him heel, this would be met with a sigh of relief, he would be given the challenge to become his heel persona, this was met with confusion, as he asked the question. Were's the challenge, and that's how the. Straight Edge Society was born, he would be joined by. Sareena Deeb, and. Luke Gallows, this would be Punks calling card. He would go on to become the most hated man in the company, by preaching his solitude, of how to live your life, he had become a preacher man, and this would carry on into his Rivalry with Rey Mysterio, in the build up to Mania 26, even though the match varied in quality, his heel work was great, as he hit home on the importance of family. Punk as a heel, was just perfect to. It was at this time, that his frustration was starting to build up, as 2011 rolled around. The WWE was in the duldrums. They were failing to create new stars, and this would be compounded, when The Miz, was placed in the main event of 27. Punk felt like he had been robbed of the position, as the old school fan in him, thought that tradition should prevail, as the top heel, should face, the top babyface. This didn't happen, as punk would have to work with, what he has been dealt with. Randy Orton. The pair would have a decent match, whilst. The Miz, and. John Cena, would stink the stadium out, as. Punks frustration grew, it would get worse, when The Rock, was announced as the headliner for Mania 28, this compounded, the fans, and. punks thoughts. The WWE were failing to make new stars.

The Summer Of Punk

As 2011 continued to drag on in WWE, the fans support for Cm punk, was entering fever pitch levels, but, Punks frustrations were clearly evident, and fan interest in the product, was starting to come under scrutiny, because of the lack of star power. July of 2011, would become a milestone in Punks career, his contract was coming up for renewal, and his frustrations were palpable. He was having the best matches on every card, and yet he was being unrecognised, by the company, who he was, making millions for. So one night, before they went live for Monday Night Raw. Michael Hayes told that the company were going to let him air his opinions, and this is how The Pipebomb was born, as promos go, this was ground breaking, he pulled back the curtain, and laid the forth wall completely bare, from mentioning other promotions, which was a big taboo in WWE, saying hi to his mate Colt Cabana. Given their history, this nowadays takes on a hole new meaning. Punk sat on the top of the rampway, putting the company on blast, predicting the future, whilst watching over a weakened John Cena, a new dawn was coming, and its due date was the Summer of 2011. Punk won the Championship at that years MITB PPV, because the Summer of Punk wasn't near. it was here.

The Title Didn't Make The Man

Punk was the new WWE champion, after he took it from the company's golden cereal chomper. This would last for over 17 months. In 2012 I thought Punk had a great year in ring, and outside he was the guy, that WWE would send to the fan conventions, but this was having its toll, Punk was working injured, throughout most of his later years in the company, and with. The Rock, and. John Cena's one year build to their match at Mania 28, this would mean that everything else, would become second fiddle, and beyond that Punks frustrations would continue to grow. The fans loved him, but the company that he worked for, had other ideas. But the fans love for him, never wavered. In 2012. punk came in at no1 in Pro wrestling Illustrated's top 100 wrsetlers of the year. His status in the company, was still high, but punk would come to a heart breaking realisation, he had peaked. In 2013. Punk would get dethroned at the top of the mountain by. The Rock, at that years Royal Rumble, this confirmed fans theories. The WWE never believed in Punk. And looking back in hindsight, it feels very much like that. In the WWE eyes, this is what the fans wanted, this would start the trend, of The WWE losing touch with their fanbase. Punk would have a decent 2013, as the fans love for him never died, the WWE would continue to alienate its longtime fanbase. John Cena was being hailed as the light of excellence, and this would have a lasting effect. Punk, would face. The Undertaker, at the show of shows, whilst the office favourites, would take the prime spots. the rest of 2013, Punks Distain for the company couldn't be hidden, and as 2013, came to a close. Punk had mentally checked out, the life, and riggers of life on the road, had taken its toll. So the night after, the Royal Rumble 2014, he handed in his notice. He was done. The machine had made him feel like less of who he is. The Cult of Personality was over. ( well not really )

Aew Dynamite Review 8.8.2024

Intro

With All In new just over two weeks away, I'm starting to feel the excitement in the air, whether it's me attending the meet and greet, the day before, or listening to Bryan Danielson on TalkSport radio here in the UK. I can't help but feel like, the male version of Jessie spano, because. I'M SO EXCITED.

MJF vs Kyle Fletcher AEW American Championship

I loved this match, from. Damn It Don Callis, being on commentary, to max getting pissed off with Kyle, and taking to the mic in the early going, telling him to hook up like a man. I don't think that Tony Schiavone could hide his distain for the title, the match however was great, from Max having a nice little sit down mid match. Kyle Fletcher launching himself over the barricade, onto Max. Max giving him a ddt, whilst he had kyle's arm trapped in a hammerlock. Max later on spat in Fletchers face. Kyle then sold the look of confliction, as. Damn It Don, gave him the screwdriver, Kyle couldn't use it, and he ended paying for it, when Max hit him with a Kangaroo Kick, and then a Brainbuster for the win. Will Osperay came running from the back, as Max started to beat down on Kyle. Max goes to give kyle the tiger Driver, but Will gets there just in time. Don gets into the ring, and shows clear concern.

Marieh May vs Viva Van

Marieh May, beat. Viva Van, in a squash match, and then had a pull apart brawl with her mentor Toni Storm, after May, opened a nice gift, which was a picture of the pair together, in the good old days, but on the back the message read. DIE MARIEH DIE. I liked all of this.

Jack Perry segment

Jack Perry, then showcased his new favourite hobby. Smashing up old tv sets. Darby Allin would later on counteract this later, by saying Perry can't hide, and he will see him at Wembley Stadium. Ok. I get the feeling that some crazy s*** is going to go down in this match. Because. Darby Allin is the reincarnation of Keith flint, a twisted firestarter.

Bryan Keith vs Katsuyori Shibata

Katsuyori Shibata, beat. Bryan Keith in a fun match. Chris Jericho, and. Big Bill took on commentary duties, thanks to the evp's, allowing security to take Taz away during the ad break. Shibata was beaten down in the aftermath, only for a returning Hook to come out, and make the save. This. wasn't bad.

Hangman Adam Page Segment

Renee Paquette interviewed Hangman Adam Page, and he told her, that he's not going to stop, until he gets what he wants. Swerve Strickland, at. All Out, this makes perfect sense.

Swerve Strickland Sit Down With JR

I. Thought, that this was a highly effective segment, that wasted no time in getting to the point, as it showcased Swerve's day and night transformation, from last years Wembley, he spoke about Danielsons must fight legacy, and the person he could be if it gets taken away. Ok. I'm just going to adress the elephant in the room. JR looked and sounded awful. I understand that he's not been in the best of health. I just think, he needs looking after that's all.

Orange Cassidy and FTR vs Rush Roderick Strong and The Beast Mortas

Due to some talent not being able to get to the show, due to bad weather, this match was thrown together, and it was a blast, from. FTR cosplaying as Orange Cassidy, the great physicality, and the exchanges between all six men, being cleverly woven together like fine art. cassidy and friends got the win. The Acclaimed came out in the aftermath, no words were needed, because both FTR, and. The Acclaimed had a fight. All of this, was excellent.

Christian Cage Segment

Christian Cage announced, that he will be the Special Guest Referee, for the match between. The Bang Bang Gang, and. The House Of Black, and just to ad a little bit more sizzle to that delicous steak, the winners will face The Patriarchy for the Trios belts at Wembley Stadium.

Camille vs Jazmyne Hao and Clara Carter

Camille beat these two jobbers single handed, and then. Mercedes stepped in the ring, and cut a promo on an absent Britt Baker. Mercedes mocked Britts feal life suspension, and. Tony Schiavone had the task of telleing her, that it's been lifted, by. Tony Khan, and. Britt was able to talk via satellite. Britt mocked Mercedes back, in a form of art echoing real life. I liked this.

Jeff Jarrett vs Bryan Danielson No Dq Match

I loved this, from the moment Jeff attacked Danielson, before he could get to the ring, the pair, brawling in the fans, and the consession area, to both men having a an all out barnburner in the ring. Danielson got the win, with a Bopsycho knee, with an added ingridient. A steel Chair. Swerve then came out, and he cut a great promo on Danielson to end the broadcast.

Overview Of AEW Dynamite

I liked this weeks Dynamite. It wasn't the best show of the year, but it did the job it needed to do. The promos were solid, and the in ring work was decent.

This weeks Dynamite is a solid 8/10.

Wrestling film and tv counteractions

    Intro

Phrases and scenes in any form of medium, can at times be over used, but on occasion both, film, and, tv, have been used in Pro Wrestling, whether it's themed tv shows, or film parodies through cosplay, this, to me is something I find interesting as a film fan, so with that said here are some examples.

Rey Mysterio Wrestlemania 25 The Dark Night

Roughly 16 months before Mania 25. In January of 2008, the world woke up to the news that Heath Ledger had passed away, he had finished filming The Dark Night, in which he played The Joker, in christopher Nolans Batman trilogy. This sent shockwaves throughout Hollywood, and the world over, this would start off a chain of events in which critics would call the film cursed, after Morgan Freeman, who played Lucius Fox in the film series, would also go on to be hospilitised, after he had a car accident. Morgan would go on to make a full recovery, whilst the loss of Ledger, is still felt until this very day. Rey Mysterio would go on to pay tribute to Heath Ledger, when he came down to the ring, in gear inspired by The Joker Character, for his match against JBl, this wasn't someone latching onto a popular film, this was someone saying, It's ok for someone to inspire others, even though their gone.

Chucky NXT Halloween Havoc 2021

Agh yes. Chucky. Everyone's favourite foul mouthed Good Guy Doll. Chucky has had an interesting history with Pro Wrestling, from appearing on a WCW PPV, in the early 90's, for the promotion of Childs play 3, a film that was highly controversial here in the UK, when it was sighted in the murder of Jamie Boulger, as being an influence of evil, that forced the film to banned for a period of time on VHS here in the UK. Chucky would also go on to appear on this broadcast of WWE NXT, in the carnation that saw. He Who Shall Not Be Named, and his minion Bruce Pritchard, take full control of, after HHH, had suffered a heart attack. Ok this show wasn't very good if I recall, but seeing everyones Good Guy Doll decide who faces who in Halloween themed matches, was a bit of cheaptrick, because. I would have put him on commentary, instead of Boooker T, so he could piss off Vic Grimes Joseph, did you get The Walking Dead Reference, oh forget it.

Leatherface AEW Fight For The Fallen

What Can I say about this segment other. Karen Jarrett getting chased by Leatherface, well as it turns out not a lot.

Chris Jericho Wrestlemania 25 The wrestler

In the build to his match against Ricky The Dragon Steamboat, at the 25th edition of the show of shows. Chris Jericho would taunt the legends of yesteryear, by saying that all of their old achievements, were just that, old achievements, from the past, that replocated everything that was seen, In Darren Afronofsky's The Wrestler. Mickey Rourke played Randy The Ram Robinson, a down and out Wrestler who was coming to terms with a normal life, after his fame had fleeted. Jericho was chinned by Rourke at the show.

Chris Jericho A Clockwork Orange

Even though. Chris Jericho's run in Tony Khans little promotion that can, has screamed please go away, over the past 18 months, it hasn't always been this way, back in 2019 when signed for the promotion, this started off a resurgence in his career, that had flagged under the WWE banner, his stint in NJPW, was seen as a good move, but it was the 1st episode of AEW's flagship show Dynamite, that he would Debut. The Inner Circle, a roughneck group of villains that echoed aspects of the droogs from A Clockwork Orange, everything from their attitude, to the attraction of gang violence, with Jericho acting like an all seeing eye in the same way, that Malcolm Mcdowells Character Alex delarge did. I loved this, as it had me saying at the time. Viddy well Chris, Viddy well.

My top 5 WWE PPV's  From The noughties

Intro

Agh, yes, the noughties, the decade that brought us the birth of live reality tv, the rise of online dating, and of course. Daphne And Celeste, but, like milk under the sun, some of these have aged badly, but the question that I have is this, have my favourite ever WWE PPV's from the noughties aged badly. Well lets find out.

5 Royal Rumble 2000

A botch finish to the Rumble match, that had everyone in my school was talking about. The Hardy Boyz vs The Dudley Boyz. HHH, and. Cactus Jack, having a classic of a Street, to. Mae Young doing the thing, that if I talk about it, all of those years that I have spent in therapy, in order to forget about it, will be for nothing. Don't Google it kids. I don't want to inflict those memories on to you.

4 WWE Backlash 2000

Chris Jericho, and. That Monster, had a great match for the Intercontinental Championship. The Big Show cosplayed as a racist, and. HHH, and. The Rock had a barn burner of a main event, which saw the second public appearance, in nearly six months, for. Stone Cold Steve Austin, this was special, because at the time, it was unclear, whether or not Austin would return at all, he was the guest enforcer, that had been brought in, to give some order, to a main event, that had been infested by The Mcmahon family. The Rock became the WWF Champion on this night, after he delivered a Rock Bottom to The Game, and then he and Austin, drank it down with liquid refreshment. You love to see it.

3 WWE Fully Loaded 2000

The Rock, and. The Monster, had a class main event. Kurt Angle vs The Undertaker was fun, and. HHH, and Chris Jericho, had a brilliant Last Man Standing Match, need I say anymore.

2 WWE Wrestlemania 16

Yeah, alright I know that this isn't the best Mania, but the reason this even gets on my list is because, It's the first one I watched with friends. The card on paper looked good, however it was poorly executed. The Triple Threat Ladder Match between. The Hardy Boyz. Edge And Christian, and. The Dudley Boyz, however, saved this card.

1 WWE Wrestlemania 17

Kurt Angle vs The Monster. TLC 2. HHH vs The Undertaker in a. No Holds Barred Match. And. He Who shall Not Be Named vs Shane Mcmahon, ian a Street Fight, and of course. The Rock vs Stone Cold Steve Austin, need I say anymore. Nope I don't think so.
