My Top 5 Takeaways From UFC Fight Night Kansas City.

       Intro.

As I sit here writing this piece. I was wondering what is Kansas City famous for. Well as it turned out, quite a fair bit. Football. BBQ. The blue collar attitude of America, and of course fighting. This was a great fight card, and a solid show from start to finish, so lets dig into the weeds of it.

5. Aliskerov Scares Me.

Ikram Aliskerov legit scares me, his performance against Andre Muniz was frighteningly good, what a TKO finish.

4 Holloway vs Poirer 3 Coming This Summer.

Max Holloway vs Dustin Poirer 3 for the BMF Championship, oh Dana White you tease, this turned out to be true. I was listening to the Fighting MMA podcast, whilst I was in the middle of Tesco's doing my weekly shop, when this got announced. I dropped a bottle of Coca Cola, because this was a oh s*** moment. The drinks aisle was a complete mess.

3 Randy Brown Is A Savage.

Randy Brown's knockout of Nicholas Dalby, was nothing short of a work of art. In the words of Mick Foley, oh my, oh my.

2. Ian Machado Garry.

Ian Machado Garry, beat. Carlos Prates in a solid 5 round war, and is now the back up fighter for the Welterweight title fight in two weeks time. The fighting Irish are so back.

1. Antony Smith.

In defeat Smith shows nothing but class. I can't believe that this the last time that were going to see him in the octagon. He lost to Chang Ming Yang. Yang was a gracious winner, as Antony was left in the octagon realing after a great thank you video, that featured Jellyroll. Chael Sonnen. Rashad Evans, and. Bruce Buffer all were seen saying thank you, as the emotion ran down Antony's face. From facing a hard loss at the end of last year, to leaving his gloves in the cage. Antony us fans will miss your fighting tenacity. Godspeed mr Smith.

My Top 5 UFC TUF Fighters That Didn't Seize The Oppotunity.

Intro.

The Ultimate Fighter has made stars, and it's also broken some fighters, who didn't seize their Oppotunity, so this got me thinking, which fighters failed to seize the oppotunity.

5. Gabe Rudiger Season 5.

If you're going to be on national TV in a fighting reality show, then it's best that you show up on weight, and avoid unhealthy trappings. Gabe failed on both levels, and was eliminated from the show, after he failed to make weight.

4. Matt Mitrione Season 10.

When you act like an idiot, waste your team mates , and coaches time, make it all the way to the semi-finals, and then get smashed by James Mcsweeney, then that lands you on this list.

3. Bobby Southward Season 1.

I don't know about you guys, but I couldn't stand watching this guy. I mean he was a bully.

2. Chris Tickle Season 15.

This guy had a lot of heart on the show, but when you act out, lose your fight, and annoy your headcoach Dominic Cruz, who was trying to help you, then this gets you on this list

1. Jessie Taylor Season 7.

This guy won the show, got kicked off the finale card for being an idiot, coming back eight years later winning the 25th season, and then peaking for failing a wellness policy violation. Yeah I know. Can you say what.

My Top 5 Takeaways From Friday Night Smackdown.

      Apologies.

Ok guys it's another Top 5 Takeaways list, this is because life is being life for me at the moment, normal service will resume next week. I hope. I don't make these decisions lightly, because I love creating content for you guys, and this is the direction that I want to take my life, so here goes nothing.

5. Zelina Vega is the new United States Womens Championship.

This was the right move, and direction. And a form of fantastic representation for Porto Rican wrestling.

4 Tiffany Stratton Segment.

I hated all of this. This fell into the realm of predictability, from Jade Cargill and Tiffany having, an impromptu Match, and then it getting wrecked by Naomi, as Nia Jax's return just got lost in the miere.

3 Triple Threat TLC Match WWE Tag Team Championship.

This. Was simply fantastic. And arguably the best TLC Match in recent years. The street Profits are our new Tag Team Championships. Well done WWE.

2. The Shaqaroni Pizza Is Back.

Americans, you don't know how lucky you've got it. The Shaqaroni Pizza is back at Papa Johns, and my god It looks like a right old feast. I want one. Uuuummmmm Pizza.

1 John Cena And Randy Orton Segment.

This was fantastic. The performer and fan dynamic, was put on full display here, as both men battled back and forth on the stick. Both men will face each other at Backlash. Fair play that 6 year old who gave John the finger, that must've taken some guts. I think that this was fascinating, and I can't wait to see how this unfolds under HHH's creative guidance.

My Top 5 UFC Fighters That Defied Age.

Intro.

The passing of father time is a real thing, and at times MMA Fighters can easily feel this strain, because from the moment that a fighter starts training, the clock starts ticking. With the added preassure of Injuries, and family life, this is a list of the Fighters that defied age.

5 Randy couture.

I have said this once, and I will say it again. This man is my hero. He started training in MMA at the age of 34, and he became the UFC Heavyweight Champion, just a few years later, and by the time he was 39, he battered Tito Ortiz, to claim the UFC light Heavyweight Championship, after Tito tried to become a businessman, whilst screwing Chuck Liddell in the process.

4 Tito Ortiz.

In the twilight of Tito's UFC Career he went on a five year losing streak that came at the end when he beat Ryan Baber at UFC 132, he would then lose to Rashad Evans. Antonio Noguiera, and. Forest Griffin as he bowed out of the Las Vegas outlet. He took time away from the sport, and then at the age of 37, he debuted in Bellator MMA, and went on to have a decent run in the promotion, that saw him become the No1 contender for Their light Heavyweight Championship, this happened in his late 30's to early 40's.

3 Stipe Miotic.

From being a real life hero, to becoming the UFC world Heavyweight Champion in his late 30's. This man should be everyones hero.

2. Frankie Edgar.

It's no secret that i'm a big fan of the Tom's River New Jersey resident. This guy isn't normal. His championship reign at lightweight lasted for just under two years, whilst he was entering his early 30's, and when he entered the twilight of his career, he proved that age is nothing but a number.

1 Alexander Volkanovski.

A couple of weekends ago Alexander Volkanovski beat diego Lopes, to become a two time UFC Featherweight Champion, at the age of 36, this in incredible, because Volk has taken quite some time away from the sport. The fight earned fight of the night rewards, proving that you can do anything regardless what age you are.

    AEW Dynamite Review.

      Intro.

With Wrestlemania now in the rearview mirror, this is the time of year when complacantcy  normally steps in. If years gone by are anything to go by. Yes the standards of American Pro Wrestling fans has in some way declined over the past twenty years. I feel that now is the time both company's need to take a look at one another, backwards copycat tactics, and booking shows to counteract your rival promotion, this leads me to say this, why can't we all just get along.

Master P Segment.

I haven't listened to this guy in nearly 25 years. The last tune I heard him put out was Kenny's Dead from the South Park Chef Aid soundtrack. He brought out The Opps, and Joe was in a celebratory mood, as he put over his faction. He also brought up the fact that Master does a lot of work in his local community for young athletes. The Deathriders came out and attacked The Opps, and Master P had fun mugging off Jon Moxley, you love to see it. The Elite joined in, so did Swerve Strickland, and. Kenny Omega. Joe then challenged Mox for the belt, this was later confirmed for Beach Break in 3 weeks time. Oh and one other thing, recently Rap has been crap, shout out WrestlingBios. This was entertaining.

The Patriarchy Segment.

Christian Cage gave his son some tough love, whilst telling us how he and his mum celebrated his ROH TV Championship win. Christian Cage, mate, tell me your secret.

Ricochet vs Mark Briscoe.

This was a lot of fun, and a great opener. From the solid in-ring work, the fans acting like rude little so and so's, chanting bald bald bald, back to back. This was a well paced exscurtion that built into a decent mid cruschendo, filled with fantastic chemistry. Mark got the win, after a great series of exchanges.

FTR Segment.

This was great. I'm loving heel FTR, and the added edition of Stokeley Hathaway has pushed this to be one of my favourite things in Pro Wrestling at this moment. Dax and Cash were on fire here, as they laid waste verbally to Daniel Garcia. The Rock'n Roll Express were in attendence, and were called into the ring, only for Dax to Humiliate them, and then attack them. This was great, and a good way to use legends, because heroes give way to hate in some worlds. Adam cole made the save.

The Young Bucks vs Kevin Knight And Speedball Mike Bailey.

This was easily the best thing Match on the card. The pacing was performed at a moderate to rapid pace, as the airing of styles made this Match, allowing it to have time to breathe. The bucks got the win with an EVP Trigger, after a great series of exchanges. Ricochet tried to attack Knight, which led to the finish. This was excellent.

Toni Storm Segment.

I took away a few of things about this segment. No1 Toni Storm wished both Ladies in the main event Luck, because the winner will be in the Owen Hart Tournament final. No2 She will face Queen Aminata on Collision in a title eliminator, and the 3rd, just like me, she's a Star Wars fan. Funny old world isn't it.

The Hurt Syndicate Segment.

I loved this. MVP puts over the dominance of his faction, the camera cuts to the big screen as MJF showed up in a nice looking car. Stopping Lashley from talking. Max gets the seal of approval from Shelton after last week, but he didn't give in for Max, he did for MVP, Max said that he gets it, but if Lashley gave him the thumbs up, then the car that he turned up in would be his. Bobby wanted to take a closer look, so Max took him to the back. Bobby got in the car, he gave Max the thumbs down, and drove off. This reminded me of the opening scene in the film Commando, because the one thing that Bobby liked about this car was the price. Max was livid, as MVP told him, sometimes in life you have to give people what they want.

Hangman Adam Page Segment.

Hangman Adam Page, and MJF in the near future, oh AEW you absolute tease.

Will Osperay And Brody King vs Konosuke Takeshita And Josh Alexander.

I liked this. The Matches within the Match was sublime, and this was elevated by the red hot chemistry between all for men. Josh got the win for his team when he gave Brody a spike. The aftermath was filled with the usual plunder, that came from the Damn It Don Callis family, attacking Hangman Adam Page, after Lance Archer attacked Osperay, which allowed Carl Fletcher to stand over him.

Jamie Hayter vs Kris Statlander Owen Hart Tournament Semi Final.

This slugfest started off a bit quiet, but when it got going things warmed up, and both ladies put forward a steller effort. Hayter got the win, and will face Mercedes Mone at Double Or Nothing next month. Mercedes came out, and staired down the Brit as the show came to an end.

Overview Of AEW Dynamite.

I liked this broadcast. The In-ring work was steller, and the promos were great.

This weeks AEW Dynamite is a solid 8/10.

My Top 5 Takeaways From Monday Night Raw.

Apologies.

You guys know that I hate this. I had to push this back until today due to life taking over, I've had to push this back. I thrive on trying to give you guys the best content I can, so if I fall ill, or have to push things back. It's not a decision that I take lightly. So here's my top 5 takeaways from From The Monday Night Raw After Mania. Apologies for the delay.

5 Becky Lynch Is A Heel.

As the aftermath of Becky Lynch, and Lyria Valkyria losing the Tag Team Championships back to Liv Morgan, and. Raquel Rodriguez. Becky turned on her Irish brethryn. I thought this felt a bit forced. Look, i'm excited to see Becky back, but if i'm honest this fell flat in my opinion.

4. Rusev Day.

He's back, and it was glorious, because Monday was Ruuuuuuuuusev Day. Shame about how it all came about though.

3. Stephanie Vaquer vs Iyo Sky.

Iyo's Promo was what the build to the threeway at Mania should've been, and her interaction, and. Match with Stephanie Vaquer was excellent. Vaquer has a cold and menacing style to her in ring work, and promo style, and when you mix it all together, it just makes magic. Yes the interference from Giulia, and. Roxanne Perez was a bit predictable, but overall this was great.

2 Seth Rollins Segment.

Some people would put this at the top of their lists, but for me what comes next is better. I'm not going to ruin this for anyone who hasn't seen this, but you need to go and check this check out.

1 John Cena Segment.

This was vile vitriol, that centred around the back and forth of abuse, that sang the song of a dodgy break up. The fans were on form here, as Cena ran down his remaining dates, that he has left in WWE, to everyones saviour Randy Orton RKO'ing the daylights out of him. I can't wait to see how HHH is going to weave this story.

Honourable Mention.

Ok Gunther, it's one thing to beat up the brother of the man who says yeeeeeeeet a lot, but you leave Michael Cole, and. Pat Mcafe alone you bully.

My Top 5 Matches That Happened During The Undertakers Streak At Mania.

Intro.

In the stadium, the lights go down, and the sense of dreading fate and doom echoes around the place, and goes around all fans senses. Metallica made the phrase For Whom The Bell Tolls, but as the fear of neverending doom comes close, the reaper from Deathvalley has moulded Mania history, into his own path of Hell, and in hindsight it has been a pleasure, and a nightmare as the numbers grew into existance.

5 Boneyard Match Mania 36.

As the circumstances of the worlds reality grew in 2020. WWE faced a Challenge for the show of shows. As the situation got worse, the company was forced to make a drastic change in how Wrestlemania would be pressented. Instead of it being hosted at Raymond James Stadium in Florida, they went  behind cloesd doors, and filming it from an empty performance centre. This ment that The creative had to come up with ideas. And this in my opinion was one of the best. The Undertaker vs AJ Styles in a Boneyard Match. This was a visual treat, and an all out fun ride, that was soundtracked by Metallica. This may not have been the best way to send off The Deadman, given the circumstances. I think WWE did the best they could. I know this isn't in the streak, but I just love this Match.

4. The Undertaker vs HHH Mania 17.

In late 1999 due to gaining a shopping list of injuries that Mark Calloway had collected over the past decade. He took time off, and didn't come back until May 2000's Judgement day PPV. This wasn't the same old Taker, he had donned a new persona, instead of the drench of impending doom, we were greated by a blueprint of American Freedom. The American Badass. Fast forward ten months, and he was getting ready to play The Game at Mania in the confines of a No Holds Barred Match. From Motorhead walking down the future COO, to both men crafting a fun Match, that still holds up today.

3 The Undertaker vs Cm Punk Mania 29.

Even though this Match is heralded as a work of genius. The build was less so in my opinion. Paul Bearer who's real name is William Moody, sadly passed away. The build was extremely raw and uncomfortable to watch, as Punk played with Takers Urn, I get this was a planned spot, but to me this was a bit distasteful, and as the weeks went on, this elevated the hype around the Match, I just think that there was another way to go about this. The Match however was a stellar look at how Taker was aging, and how a career at this time, we may have reached its peak. I rewatched this Match recently, and it is a reminder of what i've just mentioned, and it got me thinking. Age is nothing but a number.

2. The Undertaker vs Batista Mania 23.

This was a rivalry that shaped the landscape over on the bluebrand, over the space of 2007, in a time when the industry would undergo a massive overhaul, but three months before this happened, this Match took place at Mania 23. Both men were pissed off when they were told that they weren't going to be getting the main event slot, so they went out there and stole the show. And they call HBK The Showstopper.

1 The Undertaker vs HBK Mania 25.

This Match is a true test of wills, from start to finish. There's a reason why fans say that this is a classic. Those who were in attendence were on their feet from the moment when both men made their entrances, and throughout the entire 20 plus minute duration of the Match. Timeless people. Just timeless.
