WWE Monday Night Raw Review 5.3.2024

Intro

With the weekends craziness, and sadness, now in the rearview, it's onwards and upwards on the rd to Wrestlemania. With many more twists to come. Their is a reason why this time of year, is one of my favourite times to be a wrestling fan. Things are going to be very interesting.

Cody Rhodes segment

Cody Rhodes opened up the show, he basked in the fans adjulation, as he asked, what do the fans in San Antonio want to talk about. He spoke about himself facing Roman reigns in the main event of Wrestlemania, and wasted no time, in calling out a distraction. The Rock. He took shots at Dwayne, for his promo uploads, to him not accepting his challenge for a one on one match, fans started to chant. Cody. Cody. Cody, in unison. This lead him to ask ,if their was any Cody crybabie in the arena. Cody then brought out. Seth Rollins, who looked like he was dressed like the topping of a lemon cheesecake. He welcomed us to Monday night Rollins. Cody weighed up all of options, but to quote Rage Against The Machine. Seth told Cody that they must take the power back, so that Roman could not become more powerful, because now that Dwayne is involved. that future could inevitible, so they have to take down. The Bloodline. Seth gave Dwayne a rather nice nickname, that was petty and childish ( which is the point ) called diarhea, which got a nice chant from the crowd. Seth then spoke to the camera, and told Dwayne, that he is not going anywhere, because he is 100% medically cleared. And he will be at Smackdown, and so will. Cody. And will answer what him then. I loved all of this. Smackdown has now become appointment viewing. My Saturday has become clear.

Dominik Mysterio vs Gunther

Gunther battered The Human Oven, He only got in a bit offence, and the rest of the time. he was getting mullered by the ring general. Gunther finished with a T Rex dropkick, powerbomb, and Boston crab combo. Dom was seen getting medical attention with his family. Mami was not happy, and. Jd was put in a tough spot, he must deal with Gunther. Nice knowing you Jd.

Damage Ctrl segment

Damage Ctrl were then seen showing up backstage, to the annouance of Adam Pearce, and as it turned out, they're here to do a bit of scouting, basically they're WWE's answers to premier league scouts. Adam pearce then had a word with Shinsuke Nakamura, about Gunthers IC Championship. More on that later.

Kayden Karter and Katana Chance vs Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark

Shayna Baszler, and. Zoey Stark, beat Kayden Karter, and. Katana Chance, in a flat and boring TV Match. Damage Ctrl then made their pressence felt, and told the victors, when. The Kabuki warriors retain their tag titles on NXT, they will face them next Monday. I hated all of this.

Becky Lynch vs Nia Jax

This. Was pointless, the Match was thrown out, when Liv Morgan caused an Interference. What was the point of this.

Adam Pearce annouancement

Adam Pearce the announced that, their will be a gauntlet Match next week, to decide who Gunther will face at Mania, for his Intercontinental Championship. Sami Zayn. Chad Gable. Jd Mcdonagh. Shinsuke Nakamura, and. Bronson, will all battle it out next week. Sami Zayn spoke to Jackie Redmond later on, and he sounds a bit more optimistic, and hopeful. I think it should be a 3 way at Mania, between. Him. Gunther, and. Chad Gable. Valhalla and Ivor, then satepped, and said that he can't beat Gunther. Sami challenged him to a Match later on in the evening. A Match that he went on to win. And was beaten down by Bronson Reid in the aftermath.

Andrade vs Apollo Crews

Andrade, beat. Apollo Crews in a flat TV Match that fell into the realm of predictability. Thanks for showing up Apollo.

Damian Priest and Finn Balor vs Ludwig Kaiser and Giovani Vinci

This. Was. A solid well worked Match, that had a lot of fluidity, that gave way for the pace of the Match to breathe. One part of me thinks, this could be a warm up for Mania. If this had more time, and was on a PLE, you could be looking at decent PLE Match. Finn, and. Priest got the win.

Paul Heyman segment

It was announced earlier in the day that. Paul Heyman is 1st Inductee into the WWE Hall of Fame. This makes a lot of sense.

Fun and Games

I love R Truth, he was having fun playing the new WWE videogame, with his mates. DIY and Xavier Woods. And. The Miz, and just like all best friends forever scenes in teen films, all put their hands together, and said that they're going to take the tag belts off of The Judgement Day. I got real Saved By The Bell vibes from this.

Jey Uso vs Drew Mcintyre

I had a lot of fun watching this, from Jeys walking promo, to his woefully bad Kanye west glasses. ( get them off of him asap ) Drew lobbing Jey over the announcers table, the fluid pace that it was worked at, and the decent chemistry both men showcased was great, and the added extra of Jey getting ragged dolled, between the barricade, and the ring apron. Solo came out from the crowd, echoing shades of Cardiff. Cody comes out, and takes him out. Drew then ate 3 superkicks. Jimmy Uso then showed up. This distracted Jey Causing him to take a claymore, as. Drew got the win. furthering his decent into Narsacism. Seth Rollins came out, ran past Drew. To take out Jimmy, he also ate a claymore to send the show off the air.

Overview Of Monday Night Raw

From humerous drug references, poor to good in ring action, shouting out a legend, and wishing him well in his retirement, to. Michael looking like a complete tit. This weeks raw was a lot of fun. Not a goog show, but fun.

This weeks Monday Night Raw is a solid 7/10.

WWE Smackdown and Aew Revolution Review  3.3. and 4.2024

Intro

With the weekend starting to wind down, my thoughts are slowly turning, to those of reflection. I'm writing this intro on a Sunday afternoon in the UK. just hours away from Stings retirement Match. Last night I watched Smackdown. Now I know what you're thinking, what does a WWE product, have in comparison with an icon, well, in reflection both the man Sting, and Smackdown of late, have made me feel like the kid watching from behind the TV screen. And if you ask me, their is no better feeling than that.

Smackdown

The Bloodline segment

From heel dynamics being laid bare, and being performed with ease, to the promise of it's emperors world coming crashing down around him, left me with sence of. It isn't near. It's here. The end of The Bloodline as we know It. Roman came out to a mixed reception, he asked for acknowledgement, from the hot Arizona crowd, on three ocasions, and on each one, he got increasingly pissed off, chants of you suck, and. Cody, started to echo out from every section of the area of the arena. Roman then said that he was done, he had lived up to his end of the deal, so he was just going to leave. But Paul Heyman reminded, that they can't leave, because. Dwayne was due to come out, after the commercial break, and when they came back from the break, business picked up. The Rock came out, he embraced his heel persona, all of this was Gold, pure electric. Gold, from calling Arizona, and it's residents crack addicts, bringing some class to proceedings, with his pressence, because they can shoot him into their arms, instead of crack. The Rock played fans like a fiddle, as they hung on his every word. He got over how pro wrestling is cool again, with multiple WWE shows that he is appearing on, having completely sold out. And it's all thanks to him, and. The Bloodline. Then came the snag, Cody is not cool in the eyes of. The Great One, he spoke about how Cody, had the audacity to put his name in his mouth. The Rock refused his challenge for a Match at mania. But instead he counteracted this with, his own proposition. A Tag Match, he and. Seth Rollins vs. The Bloodline, for night 1 at Wrestlemania. If they win, then night 2 will be a clean Match, but if they lose, then the Match will contested under Bloodline Rules. The Rock said what it could mean, whilst delivering some fine trashtalk, the only way he can, with fire grace, and doses of venom. He put over his relevance, from the front office, to the ring. The Rock is the boss, and If Cody and Seth don't accept this, then Cody's story may not come to an end, because. The Rock, will do everything in his power to make sure that he doesn't win Romans. Universal Championship. He went to deliver his Catchphrase, but halfway through. Roman Stopped him, and asked his cousin to acknowledge him. The Rock acknowledged his cousin, as the head of the table, and his Tribal Chief, Dwayne then tried his catchphrase for a second time. And Roman finished it, by saying what his family was cooking. I have been a wrestling fan for nearly over 30 years of life, and I have to say. I'm loving seeing The Rock at the moment. Yes. I can understand fans anger over the past few weeks. But all this did, was confirm my thoughts. It was all a work. Yes. This. Was a great promo, and arguably one of the best in recent years, in the build up to Wrestlemania, but all of the faulsifying of the audience, could be detrimental on first viewing, however, whether WWE pivoted, or not, is not something that I care about, because as a fan. I just want to see a great Match. This means that the next couple of weeks, are going to be ground breaking, this story needs a conclusion. From the son of a plumber, to the legacy of a Samoan dynasty, their is a lot on the line, from all aspects, up and down the company, and it's going to be an awesome sight to see.

LA Knight. Grayson Waller. Austin Theory and Randy Orton segment

Austin Theory, and. Grayson Waller, were backstage, having a laugh at others expense, watching back the eliminations from Elimination Chamber, LA Knight came in, looking for Aj Styles, but they hadn't seen him. Randy Orton came in, and Waller put his foot were his mouth is, and put Theory In the main event, against Orton. Randy was impressed with these two Idiots.

Tiffany Stratton vs Naomi

Tiffany Stratton, beat. Naomi in a flat TV Match that offered nothing.

Bayley and Dakota Kai vs The Kabuki Warriors

Even though all of this was predictable, and story based it has delivered on its promise, turn Bayley into an underdog. The Match was thrown out, when dakota Kai turned on Bayley. Bayles attacked Dakota, but the numbers game caught up to her, Damage Ctrl attacked its former leader. Whisper It. Iyo, and. Bayley at Mania will steal the show. Iyo then duped into Jade Cargil backstage. But. Nick Aldis has a lot on his plat dealing with LA Knight.

Bron Breakker vs Xyon Quinn

Here lies Xyon Quinn, he came, he saw. He was murdered by a debuting bron Breakker.

Legardo Delfantasma segment and Carlito vs Santos escobar Street Fight

I liked all of this, from. santos wanting to take out Rey Mysterio, and rid the world of his Lwo, to this Street fight being a lot of fun, Chair shots, Kendo sticks, and of course, all being used to great extent, all because of a stolen apple. The Match had its fair share of shenanigans, from. The sexiest Bastards in WWE. Angel, and. Humberto getting involved. The Lwo, making the save, this acted as a rouse, for the return of. Rey Mysterio. Rey played possum. Making Santos think that he was still hurt, but just like the priest from the film Braindead, he kicked arse, taking out. Angel, and. Humberto with his crutch. Carlito got the win, thanks to Rey. He put Santos through a table, with a spinebuster, after Rey hit him with a 619. I enjoyed this a lot.

New Catch Republic segment

New Catch Republic. Pete Dunne, and. Tyler Bate were backstage, telling. Nick Aldis, that they want another shot at the Universal Tag Team Championships.

Randy Orton vs Austin Theory

Even though I can't stand Austin Theory. I thought this was good, not great, but good, Kevin Owens was having a good time on commentary, he smashed Grayson Waller onto the announcers desk, after Waller tried to get involved, Randy reversed a blockbuster attempt into a suplex, which was a genuinely cool spot. He went on to get the win with an RKO from out of nowhere.

Aew Revolution 2024

TNT Championship Daniel Garcia vs Christian Cage

This. Was a great opener. From. Garcia getting to hold the belt. Christian having a family team meeting, the decent back and forth. Nick Wayne getting launched into the time keepers area. Garcia kicking out of a killswitch, and chokeslam nearfall. Daddy Magic, and. Nick Wayne's mum, ( who's got it going on) having a face to face, after a fight with Killswitch. Christian maintained his act of being everyone's favourite top guy, by cheating. Nick Wayne helped his real dad get the win with an interference, Cage hit Garcia with a killswitch to retain his belt.

Continental Crown Match Eddie Kingston vs Bryan Danielson

When the full card was rumoured, to my eyes, there was at least four Match of the year contenders, and this was one of them, and I wasn't disapointed. Both men in their backstage moments were a study in contrast. From Danielson battering Kingstons knees, to the physical nulification both men put each other through, but what we did get was, a technical clinic, that had me enthralled. The Match was centred around respect, which had the fans split down the middle, which added to the drama, they eventually came round with the this is awesome chant, Danielson tried to hit Kingston with a bopsycho knee, but he reversed it into a powerbomb for the win. Kingston shook hands with Danielson in a show of class in the aftermath. Kingston revelled in the fans applause and adjulation. Which was a sight to behold.

Allstar Scramble Match

Wardlow, beat. Hook. Powerhouse Hobbs. Lance Archer. Magnus. Brian Cage. Dante Martin, and. Chris Jericho, to become the no1 Contender to the Aew heavyweight Championship, the Match was two formulaic for my tastes. It was also messy, and took way to long to get started.

Aew International Championship Orange Cassidy vs Roderick strong

I liked all of this, from the superb physicality, the flawless exchanges that both men shared, to the Match flowing like a fine beer. Strong dethroned the Orange one, to become the new. Aew International Champion. Oh and Kyle O'reily showed up, and denounced his relationship, with The Undisputed Kingdom, yeah. I can't blame him. I mean that t shirt is f****** hideous.

Ftr vs Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli

Next came one of my Matches of the night. Ftr, had a war with Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli, from Dax and Claudio having a Match, within a Match, Claudio, and. Jon playing dress up as their favourite Tag Team. The Road Warriors, to everything that came in between. Dax getting busted open. Dax taking a doomsday device, and the flawless exchanges that sold the violence perfectly, after a big rig nearfall. Dax spat blood in Moxleys face. to the near falls being played out to perfection. Mox, and. Claudio got the win, with a both of them performing rear naked chokes for the win. This. Is one of my Matches of the year.

Aew Womens Championship Match Toni Storm vs Deonna Purrazzo

This Match had a lot of promise going into it, but it failed to lift off, in my opinion. Marieh May looked like she was going to a halloween party, as the old. Toni Storm. The spot in which. Purrazzo, took out Storm, and. Luther, was cool. But overall, parts of the Match fell flat, and that was resounded with the fans, looking bored throughout this. Storm retained, thanks to. Luther interfering.

Will Osperay vs Konsuke Takeshista

Then came my Match of the night, and the year so far. Will  Osperay, and. Konosuke Takeshista, had an all time 5 star Match. Their really isn't much else for me to add, It was a fast paced, with great fluid exchanges, with superb back and forth, which helped create this masterpiece, that was drama personified. Will got the win, with his hidden blade finisher, the result didn't matter, because. This. Was an epic reminder, of how great Pro Wrestling is. osperay will, now face his. United Empire brother Kyle Fletcher, on. Dynamite this week.

Samoa Joe vs Hangman adam Page vs Swerve Strickland

Samoa Joe. Swerve Strickland, and. Hangman Adam Page, then had a barn burner of a three way Match, for the Aew World Heavyweight Championship. From. Swerve and Hangman, stairing daggers at each other. the great storytelling within the Match, and all of the possibilities that come from off the back of that. This Match had a tough task, following what it had to follow, but all three men pulled out a great Match. The physicality was off the chart, Joe took two buckshot lariots, the near falls fell in with the storytelling, and were great to watch. Joe also took a double sided powerbomb, from. Hangman, and. Swerve. Hangman took out Swerve. and then screamed, you will never win this belt. On multiple ocasions. Hangman battered referees, this acted as an aid for his heel character. Swerve refused to cheat, and turned away Nana's Crown. This would play into the finish, as Hangman tapped out of a Kahuna clutch. Joe retaind, and. Swerve could only look on in horror. This Match will have many avenues to go down, in the coming weeks, and It's going to be Interesting to how it unfolds.

Stings final Match

Over the course of this weekend, I kept thinking to myself, how was I going to write this part of my review, well, as it turns out with difficulty, This. Was an emotional ride from the outset. But the time had come to say goodbye. Because. Sting, and. Darby Allin, vs. The Young Bucks, for the Aew World Tag Team Championships. The entrances were someting, to marvel, and cry at, in equal measure. The Young Bucks found Cody's old elevator entrance, in the lost and found, while Sting watched his career in a cinema. Sting then made his entrance to my favourite band Metallica's Seek And Destroy, Both of his sons joined in the celebrations, embracing their dads past gimmicks, the escopades of violence were a family affair, from Insane Ladder, tables, chairs, and glass spots. Both men fought through the fans, and both Sting, and. Darby were put through tables, by the stage. Matt Jackson, then saved his brother from death, after Darby attempted a swantomb bomb, from the top of the 30 foot ladder, which means he took the full impact, landing through glass, placed on chairs. Sting then survived a table spot. and stood up afterwards. So Matt Jackson chucked him through glass. After that Sting ran through his greatest hits with ease. Nick was launched through a table by. Darby Allin. Sting hit a scorpion deathlock on Matt Jackson, for the win. Sting gave a speech to the fans In attendance, which left me nearly in tears, this man has meant so much to the industry, and to see him go out like this, on his own terms. was something very special, and evenings like this are  rare, enjoyable, life affirming affairs. God speed. Sting. God speed. Steve Boardman.

Overview Of The Weekend

Both shows were differant studies in contrast, one featured an icon, imposing his will on one of the years biggest cards, whilst the other said an emotional farewell to a true legend. Sting has been a part of my wrestling fandom, since the first time I sat down to watch WCW, on. Saturday afternoons on ITV here in the uk, almost over 30 years ago. And as time has gone by. I have changed as a person, and so has. Sting, from surfer Sting. The Crow Sting, and even joker sting, the character, much like the man who portrayed him for over 39 years, has changed alongside us fans. If this weekend has taught me anything it's this. If you get a ball in life, you have to run with it. One man this weekend has done that, and proved that it was showtime everytime, that he was given a chance.

WWE Smackdown Is a solid 8/10

Aew Dynamite Review 29.2.2024

Intro

With Revolution just 3 days away at the time of writing. I found myself in a reflecting mood. This Sunday a 39 year career will come to an end, when. Sting takes part in his last Match. As a fan of nearly 30 years. Sting has played a large part in my life as a fan, from a little kid watching from behind the TV screen, seeing him in person, when he was TNA, to his embarrassing WWE run, which was cut short, due to injury, until now. In December 2020. Sting made his return to wrestling with Aew, in a moment that would become, a crowning achievement in the young company's history, since then he has teamed with Darby Allin, after some fans had written him off, this confirms my belief, that sting is a one of a kind, because what he has done for Darby is unparalell, taking a chance on someone, who worked to turn there life around. This proves what type of man Sting is, and in a world that runs on chaos, he will be sorely missed.

Hangman Adam Page. Swerve Strickland, and. Samoa Joe Promotrain

I'm not a big fan of Promotrain segments, but this held my interest. It got to the point, and didn't waste any time. Hangman came out first, selling his injury from last week, and told the fans that he has not been medically cleared to compete, he spoke about what he thought of the Match being a 3 way, whilst putting over his own history with the promotion. Swerve Strickland came out, and talked about their rivalry over the past six months, from battering each other, to baby threats. Strickland said winning the world title on Sunday is his destiny. Samoa Joe then came out, and he dropped truth bombs, on both of them, saying that they are both battle tested, hungry wrestlers, but, none of that matters, because he is going to whip both of their asses. Hangman played possum, and attacked Strickland with his crutch, to end the segment. I liked all of this. It was a great way to send the Match, off to the races.

Renee Paquette Interviews The Young Bucks

Renee Paquette Interviewed The Young Bucks, after they had arrived at the arena, they then went on the hunt for Sting. From bodyshaming Eddie Kingston, to breaking into Stings bat room, this was a great episode long angle, that combinated with the main event segment. More on that later.

The Bcc vs Ftr and Eddie Kingston

I loved this Match, from each man facing one another, to the single Matches, that were woven Into this. From the quick pace it was worked at, the energetic bursts that sold the physicality. Kingston, and. Danielson having a Match, within a Match. This would be Kingstons downfall, as he succumbed to getting his head kicked in, and submitted by Danielson. This. Was a perfect tease for Sunday's Matches. And I can't wait to see either one.

Tony Schiavone Interviews Will Osperay

Tony Schiavone interviewed Will Osperay. I liked all of this, from being done with. NJPW, losing his luggage in an airport, to having a piss up with his mrs in Barbados. He spoke about his history with the Company, from his debut against Orange Cassidy, to beating Kenny Omega in his home country, which was my Match of the year, last year, to beating Jericho at Wembley Stadium. Damn it Don Callis, then came out, and hyped up. Takeshista vs Osperay this Sunday. How do you top, having Match of the year contender from last year. You have Will, face off with Takeshista, this was dynamite, and was excellent to watch, who wins, it's not the Don Callis family, it's the fans.

Orange Cassidy vs Nick Wayne Aew International Championship

This. Was all over the place. Yes, the physicality was good, but. All of the interferences, made the Match feel a bit two convoluted in my opinion. Christian Cage, and. Nick Wayne's Mum, who's got it going on, and. Killswitch. The Best Friends. Daniel Garcia, and. Matt Taven, and. Mike Bennett, all made appearances. Cassidy retained with an orange punch, from a distraction, caused by. Daniel Garcia. Roderick Strong tried to perform a beatdown, but failed.

Bang Bang Scissor Gang segment

More Members of the Bang Bang Scissor Gang, will be in action on this Saturdays Collision.

Krist Statlander vs Skye Blue

Skye Blue, beat. Kris Statlander, in a suprisingly competitive Match, that had. Skye Blue, getting launched into the fans by Statlander. And Julia Hart helping Skye get the win, thanks to Stokeley Hathaway.

Chris Jericho vs Atlantis Jnr

I didn't like any of this. It felt like a Cmll fever dream, and a desperate way to get Jericho on this weekends PPV card. In recent months, I haven't cared much about Chris Jericho, from his act becoming dull, to dangerous alligations, being aimed against him. If the past few months have taught me anything. It's this. Nothing suprises me anymore. Chris needs to go away, for a good length of time. He beat Atlantis with the walls of Jericho. And showed respect to his dad.

Stings Final Dynamite segment

39 years, multiple Championships won, and a legacy that has endured a lifetime, this Sunday comes to an end. And this was a great way to set up the end as we know it. Matthew and Nicholas Jackson came out, taking masks away from fans, but one fan was. Darby Allin. The Bucks beat him up. The old man who should have nothing to do with wrestling then came out, and turned on. The Bucks, with. Nick Jackson shouting we had a plan. and beating on him. Stings Music then played over the PA system. The Bucks walked up the ramp way, to meet Sting. But he came down from the rafters behind them, making me feel like a kid, watching from behind the TV screen. He beat The Bucks down, to take the show off the air. I loved all of this.

Aew Dynamite Overview

I enjoyed this weeks show, from the decent in ring work, to the teases for the PPV, that has made me think. Aew, take my money.

This weeks Dynamite is a solid 8/10

Monday Night Raw Review 27.2.2024

Intro

With Perth's stunning backdrop, now must a memory, it's full scale on the rd to Wrestlemania. With Matches now officially confirmed, and rivalies set to end, the focus is now being focused on post Mania, with stars like. Liv Morgan. Chad Gable, and. Drew Mcintyre, all looking set to get the post Mania rub. I think it's safe to say, that life after The Bloodline, is starting to take shape, as the rd to Mania 41 in over a year, can focus on. Roman vs Dwayne. Oh the times are getting Interesting, and i'm going to have fun with it. Roll on the good times.

Rhea Ripley segment

I liked all of this, from. The Human Oven. Dominik Mysterio introducing Mami. Rhea came out, she said that on Saturday, she went into her home country, of. Australia as WWE womens Champion, and she left as Champion, when she beat Nia Jax. whilst wecoming us to Monday Night Mami, she wasted no time by burying Nia, and putting herself on top, this brought out. Becky Lynch, and the pair had a short promo dual, which was excellent, from. Becky putting. The Human Oven in his place, and almost making him cry. The importance of family being put over, and Mami maintaining her stance of always being on top. I liked all of this. It's important that WWE start like they mean to go on, and by acting on the back of what happened on this past Saturdays PLE, is a great step in the right direction, and a good way to start the show. Nia Put a beating on Becky In the aftermath.

Sami Zayn vs Shinsuke Nakamura

I liked this Match. It was a lowfi burner, that turned into a quick paced banger. From Blue Thunder Bombs, and chinchasa kick outs, to the great physicality, and In ring awareness from both men. Sami got the win with a Halluva kick. He continued to put over his doubt for Mania in the aftermath.

Chelsea Green vs Raquel Rodriguez

Raquel Rodriguez, beat. Chelsea Green in a flat TV Match, with a tahuna bomb. Chelsea Green cut a standard promo beforehand, placing herself as the leader of all the Karens.

Imperium segment, and streetfight with The New day

I loved all of this. Gunthers promo came with a lot of promise, with many differant opponents, on the list for him to potentially face at Mania. But. I didn't have anyone from the Judgement Day on my that list. But, oh my god do I want to see. Gunther vs Damian Priest for the belt, as a TV Main event. Dom tried to step forward, after Priest said The Judgement Day want more Gold. Gunther then proceeded to piss himself with laughter. However, what wasn't funny was the street fight. Imperium had, with. The New Day. Because it was awesome. From both teams fighting on the stage, and in with the fans. Imperium getting battered with kendo sticks, and trumbones, The New Day coming out with wearing San Jose Sharks Merch. I had a blast watching this. It was a lot of fun. The table spots were great, and the near falls made sence to the Match, and helped it flow. Imperium got the win by roll up, after Xavier was launched into propped up steel chair. This. was awesome. On the subject of Imperium. Chad Gable wants another piece of Gunther. And all I have to say is. Yes, f****** please.

Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark vs Indi Hartwell and Candace Lerae.

Shayna Baszler, and. Zoey Stark, beat. Indi Hartwell, and. Candace Lerae. In a flat, boring. TV Match. By submission.

R Truth segment

Arrggghh poor old R Truth, he has been outed from The Judgement Day, well kind of, ( I guess ) but he will always get by, with a little help from his friends. Regeneration X. I have no words. DIY are better than this. I'm suprised that The Miz made it to the segment though, because, it wasn't in a locker room. Miz I hate getting stuck in elevators, so I feel what you went through. If you know, you know.

Drew Mcintyre segment

This. Was another great segment. Drew came out first, he thanked the fans for his win in perth, as he continued to push through his narsacistic heel persona, he spoke about, how on Saturday he injured himself at the PLE, and he was told that, he may have to miss Mania, and he replied by saying. Who do you think I am. Cm Punk. He took digs at Cm Punks straight edge stance on life, by saying that he drank his own bodyweight in beer. He then called out Seth Rollins. Seth came out, wearing a sumptious looking bathrobe, the two had a great promo dual. From Drew wanting Seth at 100%. Seth talking about how the relevance of risk is worth taking, and how his life is now fulfilled, since the birth of his daughter, to how taking down The Bloodline, will protect what Drew could win, and the future of the business, this left Seth to say one thing, may the best man win.

Liv Morgan vs Nia Jax

The Match was thrown out when Becky Lynch got Involved, now don't get me wrong, i've heard all of the Becky and Liv complaints, especially after Liv confronted Becky later on. But to be honest, this looks like a post Mania fued, being built up, to be taken down after the show of shows.

Jey Uso segment

Jey Uso was backstage being Interviewed by Jackie Redmond, when who should turn up, none other than. Drew Mcintyre, who told Jey, that everything that he is going through right now, he deserves, the then had a fight, which was seperated by security.

Cody Rhodes vs Grayson Waller

Using this as a main event was a brave move, but it's one that can pay off. The Match wasn't up to much, because Cody won with ease. However It was the detail of what came next, that was stupid, but also, awesome in the same measure. During the Match Michael Cole got the word, that Paul Heyman was Backstage, he came out in the aftermath of the Match, complete with bent police officers, to act as his heavies. Cody's spider sense started tingling, because he thought this was a set up. Paul proceeded to beg Cody, to keep Dwayne's name out of his mouth, and withdraw his challenge for a Match against him, or else. Cody fired back with passion and fire. Paul tried to get in the ring, but. Cody wasn't interested, he said that if anyone comes close to him, he would drop everyone. Paul over stepped the line, so everyone got taken out. Paul made two calls on two phones, ( how is that possible ) one to Roman, and the other to. The Rock as the show went off the air. This to me, felt stupid, but necessary, and I loved it.

Overview Of Monday Night Raw

I enjoyed this weeks Raw. When I was a kid my mum, would take me and my brother, to. Princess Risborough every Saturday, to spend our pocket money, we would go into Fourboys a local newsagents, my brother would buy a Mars Bar, and football stickers, whilst my mum, would get me to look at pick'n mix and comics, when I would look at the comics, my eyes would wonder to the magazines. Saturdays is when wrestling would come Into my life, from buying Magazines as a treat, to watching WCW on a Saturday afternoon, both things would be a study in contrast, Which is why this weeks Raw was a Mix bag, because a TV show is done In 3 hours, whilst a magazine can inspire you, for years to come.

This weeks Monday Night Raw Is a solid 7/10

WWE Elimination Chamber Review 24.2.2024

Intro

This weekend has been an enjoyable ride, from one of my favourite bands of all time. Linkin Park releasing a new song called. Friendly Fire, to WWE taking a trip down under, for their last PLE trip on the rd to Wrestlemania. Perth made for a stunning backdrop, the silouette of day turning to night, made this evening even more special. Were ever WWE goes globally, their initives and values are matched in local communities, and given all of the negative press attention that has gone around of late, and rightfully so, it's nice to see fans triumping over adversity, If WWE are planning on becoming an even bigger force, then relationships like this are vital, yes the deal with Netflix, is also vital, but without the sense of community from global partners, deals like that are not worth the money they're printed on, fans and community are far more important than anything.

The Womens Chamber Match

Becky Lynch. Liv Morgan. Tiffany Stratton. Raquel Rodriguez. Bianca Belair, and. Naomi, all entered the womens Chamber. I liked all of this, as I thought this was the strongest of the Chamber Matches on the card, from. Naomi. Raquel Rodriguez, and. Tiffany Stratton, all giving good accounts for themselves, to. Liv. Becky, and. Tiffany, all using the pods for their benefit as launchpads, Bianca acted as an unsung hero in the proceedings. The Match was given plenty of time to breathe, clocking in at over 48 minutes, Including entrances. The In built story didn't matter, because with a stipulation like this, it's important that the steel structure becomes a background player, whilst acting as the storyteller, in the battle of who wants it more. Becky got the win, and will go on to face the winner of the main event, the final exchanges were solid, and helped set the tone for the rest of the evening.

Balor and priest vs New Catch Republic Universal Tag Team Championships

With this Match acting as the only mid card Championship, on the main show, the preasure for these two teams just doubled up. This. Was fast paced fun. Both teams styles meshed together perfectly, acting like a perfect American, and. European Combo, from. The Human Hoven. Dominik Mysterio, causing trouble at ringside. Pete Dunne have some joint manipulation fun. To the great near falls, elevating the stakes, and the drama, to the Champs. Balor, and. their Priest retaining belts with, a south of heaven, and coup de grace combo. Both teams rose to the challenge, and on a night like this, it's important to have that mentality.

The Grayson Waller Effect Aussie Special

I enjoyed all of this, from. Austin Theory, acting like a master of ceremony, Insulting their snacks, and rightfully so, because Veggiemite is truly awful, and later getting decked, to the ovation that Waller got from his home country, and that delicous looking shoey, he had with UFC Fighter, and Australian native. Tai Tuibasa was a humbling treat. The fans were truly at his mercy, they ate everyword, from out of the palm of his hand, he introduced his guests. Cody Rhodes, and. Seth Freakin Rollins. Grayson asked for acknowledgement, and asked Cody, does he think that it was a bit selfish of him, ruining the Mania main event for his own gain. Cody explained what he thinks of Dwayne, and the hole situation, going through all of names that he would call the fans, Waller was in his element, when he reminded him, that he called them cry babies. Cody then asked, how many Cody Cry babies are their in attendance, he was then met with an overwhelming response, from the strong Aussie crowd, the emotion on his face was palpable, you could see what it meant to him, he then challenged. The Rock to a Match whenever he wants to answer the challenge. Seth earlier in the promo said, that he is nearly 100% cleared, which means if Cody needs him he will be their, because he admires him. Theory then took over, and did some of the worst impersonations of The Rock, that I have ever heard. This acted as his downfall. The funny thing is, when. Theory was getting decked. Grayson did nothing. I thought this was awesome.

The mens Chamber Match

Even though this followed the same formula to the womens Match. I thought it fell into the realm of predictability, the eliminations fell on that, because I could tell who was going to go, and when. But it did have it's fun moments, from. Kevin Owens welcoming Logan paul to hell, Aj Styles coming out, and battering Drew, furthering his heel turn. To logan eating an RKO, after contemplating having some fun with his good mate brass knuckles. Which would come into effect when, he knocked out Randy with them, allowing Drew to slither over and get the pin.

HHH Segment

HHH came out, and told the fans that the attendance for the show was 52,590, and at that point, my bulls*** omitre went into overdrive, because WWE have a long running history of lying about the attendace records.

Rhea Ripley vs Nia Jax

I didn't like parts of this Match. I thought some parts fell flat, but when it did get going, it turned into a lowfi burner of a Match, from Rhea struggling to hit rhea with her riptide finisher. Nia putting her through a table with a samoan drop, to both women selling their near falls to great effect. Rhea got the win with her riptide finisher. Even though this was not for me, the sight of Rhea, celebrating at ringside with her family, is a sight that no one should take away from her. As the evening came to a close, the rd to Wrestlemania continued wind, and with many more corners to turn, we are nowhere near the end of the rd, because we're just getting started.

WWE Elimination Chamber 2024 is a solid 8/10.

Aew Dynamite Review 22.2.2024

Intro

Over the past few months, I have started to notice that. Aew, is starting to get its spark back, which is what made it so beloved in the first place. from good booking, to excellent in ring work, the only thing that is missing is. Cohesive storylines, which is something that fans have been calling out for, personally, I think their already doing that, when you dig beneath the surface, The devide and conqeuring of the Don Callis famiy. Darby Allin turning heel, and everything that comes with. Mercedes Mone, and. Kazuka Okada both expecting to be arriving iminately. I think the future is bright for Aew, and their time to strike is now.

Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli vs Ftr

What can I say about this opener, other than, this was one hell of an opener, well as it turns out, not a lot. This. Was a well crafted smooth opener, that went to a time limit draw, from the energetic bursts selling the physicality. Mox and cash working hardstyle. Cash trying to ralley the fans. Claudio becoming a one army, and slamming both Cash, and. Dax, to. Ftr performing superb double team spots on Mox, the near falls were performed with grace, and were perfectly woven into the story of the Match, however it was the final exchanges that had coming unglued. I wanted more, the fans in attendance wanted more, but, we couldn't have anymore. because time ran out. A fight broke out between both teams in the aftermath, which led to security and. Aew personal coming out to seperate both teams, this continued later on in the back, during. Ftr's interview time with Renee Paquette, this gave real Hal from. Malcolm In The Middle Vibes. Revolution Iron Man Tag Team Match me thinks.

Orange Cassidy segment and Match with Mike Bennett

Orange Cassidy confirmed to Renee Paquette, that he's kind of cleared to wrestle, he went on to beat Mike Bennett, in a great match that followed after, and was then beaten down by. Roderick Strong, and. Matt Taven. The Match was decent, and had good physicality.

 Angelo Parker segment

Angelo Parker is taking Ruby Soho out on a date, and in my experience, it's a trip to Dominoes, a car pulls up in the background, and Ric Flair gets out, he later stated to. Renee Paquette, that he is unhappy not being used as much, so he went to speak to members of upper management, Matthew, and. Nicholas Jackson. Here's my thoughts on this. Ric Flair is complaining about not being used enough, in the build up to Stings final Match. I think Aew have listened to fans concerns, when it comes to flair, who has a plethora of sexual assault accusations against his name, this screams damage limitations, and Aew have taken stock into this, by removing Flair, which is a sensible move, but then again, on the otherside, this also screams, ego, ego, ego. And if that's the case, then Flair shouldn't have been hired in the 1st place.

Daniel Garcia segment

Then came the segment of the night. Tony Schiavone interviewed Daniel Garcia, he told him, that at Revolution, he will be facing Christian Cage at, for the TNT Championship. The fans chanted you deserve it in unison. Daniel spoke about his career, from being told he could achieve greatness, to having the most incredible 30 seconds of his life, he tried calling out Adam Copeland, but what he got was, everyone's favourite, turtleneck wearing Bond villain, and all round great guy. Christian Cage. Christian told Daniel that he does not want to have the Match at Revolution, because he thinks that he isn't ready, in hindsight he is trying to help Daniel, because. Daniel likes to have fans leave the arena with a good impression, whilst Christian likes to be dominant, and from being dominant, comes out Christian's darkside, he brought up Daniels hard childhood, by insulting his dead dad, Christian has become the master of the Darth Vader dark arts, when it comes to cutting promos, he wants to help Daniel, by becoming his father. Daniel took this by wanting Cage to come down, so he can put him six feet under, with his dad. Cage sent down. Nick Wayne, who got taken out by Garcia, whilst Killswitch had to deal with Daddy Magic. but who made the save, none other than. Jake Hager, cleaned house. I loved his shades, but the big question is, WHERE'S HIS HAT. I LIKED HIS HAT.

Hangman Adam Page. RVD, and. Hook segment

Hangman Adam Page, rallied his troops ahead of their main event later on, he seemed really up for it.

Toni Storm vs Sydni Winnell and Deonna Purrazzo vs Madison Rayne

Both of these Matches were a study in contrast. One was a flat TV Match, and the other, was more competitive. I'm still not changing my mind, about how Aew have treated it's womens division. But, it was nice to see the ladies take take a good slot, Both ladies won their Matches, by using each others submission moves. This. was perfect, when you think about it.

Sting and Darby Allin segment

I loved all of this, from Darby asking to talk about Stings family, to Sting bringing home the relevance of family, because throughout his career no one has ever gone for his kids, and at Revolution. The Young Bucks are going to get every last bit of him, this was made more relevant when Sting told us, that he recently lost his dad. This. Was passionate, with shades of compassion, and delivered with grace. This. Was excellent.

Wardlow segment

Tony Schiavone then tried to interview Wardlow, but he was in no words told, to f*** off. Wardlow went on the complete offence, taking shots at higher ups, Mjf, and of course, everyone's favourite chick magnet. This. Was awesome. He turned on the fans, and claimed that he wants his shot at the belt. He is starving, because he's done being fed screw ups, he is the baddest son of a bitch to ever lace up a pair of boots, no one can get in his way, and If they do, then this means war. I loved this, although I was waiting for him to say the words. Shwing, and excellent.

The Bang Bang Scissor Gang segment

Everyone loves The Bang Bang Scissor Gang, and I especially love it when they compete in mixed Matches, oh joy.

6man tag Match

Samoa Joe. Swerve Strickland, and. Brian Cage beat. Hangman Adam Page. RVD, and. Hook, by submission, in a great main event, and an excellent caviat for what is to come at Revolution. The Match had great physicality, with all 6 men getting their moves in. which was balanced with superd fast paced fluidity. I liked all of this. This. Was a great way to take the show off the air.

Overview of Aew Dynamite

From an Injury, that turned out to be an angle, the excellent in ring work, to the sensational promo work, this weeks Dynamite was one the years best, and were only in febuary.

This weeks Dynamite is 9/10

WWE Monday Night Raw Review 20.2.2024

Intro

Over the past few years, I haven't tried to hide the fact, that this time of year, is one of my favourites, from not having an excuse for stuffing my face, with chocolate mini eggs, to the evenings getting a bit lighter. But there is one over arching thing I love about this time of year. The Rd to Wrestlemania, from epic sit down interviews of the past, feuds you never thought you would see come to an conclussion, on 2 or 3 occasions. Match of the year contenders unfold before our eyes, but most importantly, it's all about the guessing game, who's facing who, and who will win what, these are questions all fans think of, whether you're sitting watching at home, or attending the show of shows in person, WWE at this time of year, knows how to keep you guessing.

Drew Mcintyre vs Cody Rhodes

I loved this opening Match, from the fans in the building, being on top form, the good physicality, blending in with the solid near falls. This Match was awesome. It was given plenty of time to breathe. Both men doug in deep to produce an excellent starter. Jimmy Uso, and. Solo Sikoa came and caused trouble. Solo, gave Cody a samoan Spike, this allowed Drew to hit Cody with a claymore for the win. This played the story along nicely, delving into. Cody, and. Drews history with The Bloodline. This. Was aperfect to kick of Raw. Seth paid Cody a visit, whilst he was getting checked out by a dr, and so it Started ticking. Cody's mind that is.

Andrade El Idolo segment

I see that WWE are still trying to us to forget about. Andrades Aew run, see no can do, because him wanting to buy Darby Allin, is forever etched in my mind.

Last Chance Battle Royal

A returning. Raquel Rodriguez won a last chance Battle royal, to book herself a place in the womens Elimination Chamber Match. I hate TV Battle Royals, and I have to say, this falls into that category, this felt predictable and dumb.

Jey Uso showing up

Jey Uso was seen showing up to the arena, doing his best Jay Z impersonation, by reintroducing himself. YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET.

Rhea and Nia sitdown segment

I wasn't sure what to make of this segment, I see what WWE were going, but I don't think either women came across very well, from the predictable dual screen effect, to the not so great writing. Rhea spoke about her history, and Nia shot it down, by saying that she twice the size of Rhea, and she will make her, go home crying to her Mami. I didn't like this at all.

Trustline Jackie Redmond and R Truth

Jackie Redmond embraced her Inner reporter, and did an interview with R Truth, who embraced his inner prat in a puncho look from Wrestlemania 37. This had me howling with laughter, this was perfect comedy. R Truth talked about the humiliation he felt, at the hands of The Judgement Day, to being saved by DX ( it's really DIY ). I loved this. He and. The Miz, with. DIY, would go on to lose at 8 man tag Match, later on in the evening against. The Judgement Day.

Michael Chandler segment

UFC Fighter Michael Chandler showed up, he took the mic from Samantha Irvine, and proceeded to call out. Connor Mcgreggor. Yep that UFC Co event deal is starting to take shape.

Sami Zayn segment

Sami Zayn then spoke to to Jackie Redmond, he is unsure of his path to Wrestlemania, this has become an obseesion with Sami, but he feels something in this gut, that he will get their. Shinsuke Nakamura then answered this back later on, the two will face each other next week.

Becky Lynch segment

This felt more like a promotrain, because it was, and a boring, pathetic one at that. I'm not going to say much about this, because f*** me this was bad. I hated this. It was formulaic, and a tired concept. Enough said.

Ivar vs Chad Gable

I liked all of this. I'm not the biggest Ivar fan, but this was a lot of fun. Chad got the win, after a moonsault, which lead into ankle lock. Chad Gable needs to dethrone Gunther for the IC Championship at Mania.

New Day announcement

The New announce that they will be facing Imperium next week in a streetfight. This should be fun.

Gunther vs Jey Uso IC Championship

This. Was excellent, from the fluid physicality. Gunther getting back dropped on the announcers table. Jey kicking out of a powerbomb. Jimmy Uso caused a bit of chaos at ringside, ringing the ring bell. Jey then took out security, and his brother, but this was his downfall. Gunther got the pin, and retained his belt. Jimmy then proceeded top batter his brother in the aftermath, as the show went off the air.

Overview of Monday Night Raw

This weeks Raw was an enjoyable show, not a great show, but enjoyable, the matches went from boring to excellent, and the promos followed the same path.

This weeks Raw was a solid 7/10.

Friday Night Smackdown Review 17.5.2025. Intro I have to say it. WWE has entred it's after Mania slump. As a fan who's been watching...
