Aew Dynamite Review 25.4.2024

Intro

Reinvention can sound like an ugly word, but in the terms of the annals of wrestling history, it has at times, been seen as a green light for creativity to shine through. Aew needed a reset, after two weeks of bad press, and now that Aew Dynasty is in the rearview mirror. The time is now, to show the world that, Tony Khans little promotion that can, is putting their best foot forward once again.

The Elite show

In footage shown earlier in the day. The elite were seen showing up to Aew's spiritual home Daily's Place, with a certain Scapegoat. Jack Perry, this would be a running theme throughout the broadcast. Alex Mahvez would try and get a word with them, when they were seen entering, and later on leaving Tony Khans office. Nick Jackson told Mahvez, that Khan has agreed to meet with Perry in the centre of the ring later tonight, you can tell, that this is going to be good.

Orange Cassidy segment

Orange Cassidy was chucked out onto the stage, like a wet towel, by that dastardly Trent Barretta, he wasted no time in calling out. Chuck Taylor. He told Chuck, that it was time to make a choice. Trent Lauded himself over Cassidy, calling him a p****, whilst reinventing their history. Chuck Chose Orange, just like Ash Ketchum when he chose Pikachu. Chuck called his former Best Friend a piece of s***, and challenged him to a parking lot fight. This will go down on Rampage, this Saturday.

Swerve Strickland vs Kyle Fletcher World Title Eliminator

our first match of the night, featured our new Aew World Champion. Swerve Strickland. I liked all of this. The match told a solid story, that would come to light later on in the show. Swerve took 80% of the offence, and took Fletcher to school. The Physicality was on point, their chemistry was great to see, and. Swerve kicks off his reign, with a well earnt win.

Renee Paquette Thunder Rosa

Renee Paquette Interviewed Thunder Rosa, who said that she was proud of what she did on Sunday, at the PPV. Deonna Purrazzo didn't feel the same way, and the two ladies had a cat fight.

Mina Shirikawa vs Anna Jay

This. Was. A lofi burner that took a while to get going, and when it did. Mina got the win by roll up. Marieh May got in the ring to celebrate with her former Stardom Tag Team Partner, but was decked by Anna Jay. Toni Storm came down to make the save, when who should step out on the rampway, none other than Sereena deeb, who made a promise to the fans, that the next time she touches the belt, she will be the new Aew womens Champion. This. Has. A lot of promise, that I can't wait to see unfold.

Willow Nightingale Championship Celebration

Ok. I'm just going to say it. If you don't like Willow Nightingale, then, like Bart Simpson, you have no soul. I loved this segment, from kris Statlanders awful rapping. Patrice Coleman showcasing his great singing voice, and of course. Stokeley Hathaway, being. Stokeley Hathaway. Willows joy was visible for all two see, and it was glorious. Mercedes Mone came out, and the pair had an excellent promo dual, from subtle digs, to. Willow wanting Mercedes at 100%, which brought in the looming question of. Can she beat Mercedes when she is fully fit? to the l.t.s that has come with this terrority. I liked all of this, but, just one other thing, Who Attacked Mercedes a couple of weeks ago? Here's looking at you Statlander.

Casino Gauntlet Match

Will Osperay, beat. Jay White. Dante Martin.Penta. Kyle O'reily. Lance Archer, and Kommander, in a fun Gauntlet match. He will now face Roderick Strong at Double Or Nothing, for the International Championship. Strong came out with his Undisputed Kingdom faction, for a stair down. All isn't right with the Damn It Don Callis Family.

Chris Jericho segment

Look. I don't know what to make of this, other. Come on kids lets go sit under Chris Jericho's learning tree. His promo wasn't great at all. His delivery felt forced, and the fact that Big Bill, has been dragged into this, makes me think. What's the point of this, and one other thing. Please don't have Hook join this group, for the love of him upstairs, don't do that.

Jon Moxley vs Powerhouse Hobbs IWGP World Heavyweight Championship

Jon Moxley retained his IWGP World, beating Powerhouse Hobbs. In a match that I can only describe as a slugfest. And I loved it.

Tony Khan face to face with Jack Perry

This. Was. A great segment, don't get me wrong. I understand that it will have its detractors, but I loved what I saw here. Perry comes out to the ring. He puts over Jacksonville, and then asks Tony Khan to come out. He goes over the times they have had. From setting out to change the world, and the roads they have travelled, to this. Perry asked for a handshake, and to be reinstated. Khan obliged, he shook Perry's hand, put after he raised. Perry attacked him, making him fear for his life. The Elite tried to reason with him, but ended toying with Khan, they ended the segment by giving him, a top rope piledriver. Medics, and talent came out from the back, to help their fallen boss, as. The Elite thanked the Jacksonville fans to end the show.

Overview Of Aew Dynamite

Now this what I call a return to form. I enjoyed all of this. The promos went from bad, to excellent, and the in ring work followed the same direction. This weeks Dynamite is the true meaning of reinvention, as. Tony Khan has started to spin several positive plates, that could have some fascinating outcomes.

This weeks Dynamite is a high 8/10.

My Take Away points From Aew Dynasty

Intro

Due to my work schedule, I was unable to give you guys a full review of the show. So having just watched what was an excellent PPV, it has inspired me to tell the world my thoughts on the show, so sit back, and grab a couple of bags of more to share molteasers, and lets do this.

Point 1

Money well spent

This past March saw two of the biggest debuts in the young promotions history. Mercedes Mone, and. Kazuchika Okada, at Aew Dynamite Big Business, even the Mercedes is still yet to set the world on fire. Okada is starting to fit in like a glove, his heel character siding with The Young Bucks, bringing to life the heel Elite faction to the fore front of Aew. His Match last night against Pac, was solid fluidity being served to the masses, and a mental game of chess, that i'm going to go back and watch again, at a later point this week. Do I think this is going to lead to him vs Kenny Omega, yes I do, but given the fact that there is no limit for kenny's return from diverticulitis. This could be a case of, good things come to those who wait.

Point 2

Right Time Right Place

The show saw 3 three championships change hands. The Young Bucks became three time Tag Team Champions, whilst. Willow Nightingale, and. Swerve strickland became the new womens TBS Champion, and. World Heavyweight champion respectively. Swerve Strickland is the first African american, to become Aew World Heavyweight Champion. I'm so onboard with this, because I don't feel that African Americans, get a lot of credit in wrestling, and it's a shame. Him befeating. Samoa Joe wasn't just a call to arms, it was a call for needed change in the industry. I can't wait to see what is in store for Swerve in the future as champion. And even though I think Willow, is going to be a transitional Champion, this is going to wonders for the happiest women in wrestling, now don't mess this up Tony.

Point 3

The Reliance on Chris Jericho needs to stop

Over the past two years, It feels like chris Jericho's career, has been stuck in mid card vortex, that has only seemed to get worse with time. Back on Christmas Day. Chris Jericho got into a twitter war, with. Cm Punks Lawyer Steven P, after the latter Claimed that he had to sign an NDA, in regards to what happened at All Out 2022. Jericho denied it, prompting Nick Hauman of. Haus Of Wrestling, to ask, what about those who you make sign them. whilst listing him next to Harvey Weinstein. How has this bled into on screen character. In the face of what came out, fans became dispondant when it came, to the once loved performer, and ever since those dangerous allegations came out. His act has become stale, pathetic, and lifeless. His Match with Hook last night, wasn't bad at all, but the fans didn't reprocate that, chanting, please retire, Fozzy sucks, and, go home Jericho go home chants, could be heard all around the arena. Jericho has real go away heat, and If Tony Khan doesn't act, and listen to the fans, they won't walk with their wallets, they just won't watch, heat like this can be damaging.

Danielson vs Osperay

This Match was excellent. The Internet can be a fickle place, with some people saying, it was the match of the year, whilst others saying it was just good, ( here's looking at you Jim Cornette ) personally I thought it was a fast paced blast to the sences. look I don't think it matters were you sit, because were all differant, if we all liked the same stuff, the world would be a boring place.

Overview

So guys there you have it. My points on Aew Dynasty. I hope you enjoyed this piece,

Just a heads up, their will be no Monday Night Raw review tommorow, due to me swapping shifts in my day job. So I will catch you on Thursday for my  Aew Dynamite Review. So until then take care guys.

Smacklillision Weekend Round Up 20.4.2024

Intro

Ok. I'm starting off with an apology, due to my work schedule in my day job. I won't be able to review Aew Dynasty, the one thing that I wanted to do, when this dream of mine, slowly turned, and is still turning into a reality, was to give you guys, the fans, the best reviews out there. But, there are times when my day job has to take the top priority slot. So with that said, my apologies, and I will let you all know my thoughts on the PPV, when I review Dynamite, later this week.

Smackdown

LA Knight vs Aj Styles

Now don't get me wrong. I know that I'm going to be one in a small Majority, but I prefered this to their Mania Match, this was for the No1 contenders at Backlash, to face. Cody Rhodes, and I thought this was great. AJ got the win in an entertaining Match. Cody, and. AJ, will have a contract signing next week. I can't wait to hear the Multiple Bullet Club references, and. TNA jabs. Be still my. NJPW, and. TNA loving heart.

Solo Sikoa and Tama Tonga Segment

Paul Heyman was seen in the parking lot, when. Solo Sikoa showed up looking suited and booted, he told paul, to accept the new adition to The Bloodline. Tama Tonga. This would a reacurring story throughout the show, and one other thing. Am I the only person, who thinks that both. Solo, and. Tama, look like absolute pieces in those suits.

Belt Swap time

Nick Aldis brought out HHH at the start of our next segment, and that pesky qr code popped up again, look I see what WWE are trying to go with here, they're bringing back Uncle Howdy, which don't get me wrong, is a nice tribute to the late Bray Wyatt. I just feel this is a bit creatively redundant. WWE should be trying something new, and not rehashing old ideas. HHH got over how. WrestleMania was the successfull Mania in recent times, and welcomed the WWE Universe to Friday Night Smackdown. He put over Nick Aldis, and. Adam Pearce, for doing a great job on their respective brands. Aldis then brought out. The Universal Tag Team Champions. Atown Down Under. Austin Theory, and. Grayson Waller. Ok i'm going to be honest. I didn't like the back and fourth between all four men. something about what they were saying, just felt off, the words were fine, and the delivery was decent. I don't know, maybe it's just me, but I couldn't get into this. Waller, and. Theory refused to shake HHH's hand, and the look on his face said everything. HHH then revealed the belts, and I have to say. I like this design. Whilst the Tag belts on Monday nights, looklike a bowl of Strawberry flavoured Gold cereal, these look a lot more refined.  Aldis, told the dumd duo, to never be that disrespectful again, or they might be seperated, and the fatal 4 way No1 contenders Match would start straight away. The Street Profits, came away with the win, baeting. New Catch Republic. Legado Delfantasma, and. AOP. The Match was a lot, and had great spots incuding. Bate. Dunne, and ford going airbourne, and. AOP trying to show dominance, and. Legado using human beings as launchpads, you love to see it. The Match was a lot of fun, shame about the prior segment. But what came next, was awesome.

The Bloodline Segment

Paul Heyman was seen backstage trying to reason with Solo Sikoa, he told him that he is not in the position, to be making the decisions he's making, but one day, he will be, but all solo was interested in, was finding Kevin Owens. This led to an excellent walk through shot to the ring. Paul said that if their was a list of backstage politicians, he would be no1, he tried to give an update on where The Bloodline is at the moment, the chant of we want Roman, resonated throughout the arena, but, before Paul could say anything. Solo Snatched the mic from him. He explained his actions after last week, he said, that he has had to lose a brother, in order to gain a brother. Tama Tonga brings out a bloodied and battered Kevin Owens. Kevin tried to fight back, but he's left reeling in a pool of his own blood. Solo Gave him a samoan spike, whilst Tama lost it. Nick Aldis then discoverd how Owens got bloodied up, Tama ran his renter car Into Kevins renter car, Aldis gave Paul a warning, to keep The Bloodline in order.

Carlito vs Santos Escobar

Santos Escobar, beat. Carlito in a standard TV Match, that out did their Survivor Series encounter, in my opinion.

Damage Ctrl segment

Kayla Braxton, interviewed. Damage Ctrl, who were sitting in the posh seats.    ( lucky for some ) Dakota Kai led their promo, but it didn't last long, because They saw Jade Cargill, and. Bianca Belair, from across the way, they  decided to take the box next to them, in the other posh box. Dakota didn't like this at all. If looks could kill. And if only they had food, just imagine it, popcorn and coca cola would go flying.

Bayley vs Naomi WWE Womens Championship

I liked all of this, the physicality was great, and their in ring chemistry was solid. Naomi took a lot of the early offence, but. Bayley counteracted by showing pure heart, however the Match got thrown out, when tiffany stratton got Involved, normally I hate dq finishes, but i'm going to let this one play out.

Aew Collision

Adam Copeland. Mark Briscoe and Eddie Kingston vs Top Flight Action Andretti

This. Was. A lot of fun, from the basic story of veterans vs upstarts, krane kick vs redneck kung fu, and of course. Eddie Kingston chopping the daylights out of Dante Martin. Mark Briscoe put an end to proceedings with a froggy bow splash, after an excellent exchange, to get the win for his team.

Powerhouse Hobbs vs CJ Esparza

Here lays CJ Esparza, he came, he saw, he got wrescked by Powerhouse Hobbs. In the aftermath. Don by God Callis took to the mic. He relived his history with NJPW, and how he helped groom the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship, from the Matches he helped book, to the pressent day, he said that on wednesday, when Aew head back to their spiritual home, of. Dailys Place. Powerhouse Hobbs, will face. Jon Moxley for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship. Ok. Thursday morning will be interesting, when I get to review it.

Chris Jericho apologises

Chris Jericho appeared on screen, in a pretaped promo, apologising to Hook, for his actions last Wednesday. I had no time for any of this.

The Gunns vs The Acclaimed

This. Was better than what I thought it had any right to be. Max Castors rap was politically incorrect as always, the physicality flowed nicely, and was fast paced at points. The Gunns got the win, thanks to Jay White cheating, with the aid of his trusty Gold bat. I liked this.

Toni Storm segment

Toni Storm called out Thunder Rosa, in an excellent pre taped segment. I loved all of this. I want La mera mera to take home the prize, that she never lost at the PPV.

Bryan Danielson and Claudio Castagnoli vs Kyle Fletcher and Konosuke Takeshista Bunk House Brawl

This. Was. A, physical, violent, bloodsoaked, war, and I loved all of it. From the outset, this was crazy, both teams thought in the crowd, both teams got nice and bloody, and to it's clear and obvious that, this is the direction Aew going in for. Anarchy In The Arena, at. Double Or Nothing. The spots here were excellent, from Danielson getting launched into the ring post. Kyle Fletcher throwing a load of powder in Claudio's face. I heard that Shawn Michaels loved this spot. Because this was a no dq Match, to a degree. Powerhouse Hobbs came out, to wreak havoc, when Jon Moxley came out to make the save. Takeshista, and. Fletcher, had Danielson in perrall, until he did a reversal, landing Konosuke back first onto a chair, the final exchange brought things to a great close, allowing Danielson to get the win, by hitting a bopsycho knee on Takeshista, and then putting him in the labelle lock for the win. Danielson took to the mic in the aftermath. And all I have to is this. Bryan Danielson is one crazy m************. Because his idea of heaven, is him bleeding in front of the crowd, after kicking someones ass. Yes. It's questionable, him having a Match, the night before he faces Will Osperay, but in all honesty I don't think he cares. The promo he had earlier in the night with Will, examplified all of this.

Willow Nightingale Segment

Kris Statlander, and. Willow Nightingale are both fired up, about Willow beating. Julia Hart for the TBS Championship. Ladies. Stokeley is right, f u doesn't stand for fired up. It stands for you f***** up. Can I please have more Stokeley hathaway on my TV please.

Skye Blue vs Leyla Hirsch

Ok. I'm going to be honest, this was a botch filled let down. Skye got the win. I'm not going to say much about this, because I just feel bad for both ladies.

The Elite vs Pac and Ftr

This. Was. A great main event. I had a lot of fun watching this, the Match flowed like a fine craft beer. The near falls were excellent, and the pace was solid. I have no complaints here. This. Match did what it says on the tin, it got me hyped for their respective PPV Matches. Pac got his team the win, by hitting his black arrow finisher on Okada. Daniel Garcia came out to make the save, in the aftermath, to take the show off the air.

Overview Of The Weekend

From Friday Night Smackdown, helping WWE verge even further away from its sports entertainment roots, to. Aew Collision proving that go home shows, don't always have to centre around decent matches, because you intertwine them with lowfi storytelling. This. Weekend has left me feeling excited for Aew's Dynasty PPV, and the giant bag of Mcdonalds, that i'm going to devour whilst watching it.

This weeks Friday Night Smackdown is a high 7/10.

And Aew Collision is a solid 8/10.

Aew Dynamite Review

Intro

With last weeks embarrassment, acting as a reminder of just how petty this industry can be. I do feel that Aew can bounce back, by showcasing excellent wrestling action, and with Dynasty just a few days away. And the incoming return next week to Dailys Place. I get that some fans will lapse because of Tony Khans actions last week. But this should act as a reminder, that wrestling is a strange, and backwards industry, that loves to stoke the fires within us fans. And lets be honest. We all love it.

Jon Moxley segment

Dynamite kicked off in style, with. Jon Moxley. The new IWGP Champion. He spoke about his history with the city of Miniapolis. I loved this. The fans were electric all night and it started here. The you deserve it chant, could be heard loud and clear through my chromecast. His passion, and his grace was full display. He talked about how he has climbed mountains, to get were he is today. Because he has given his blood, sweat, tears. And anyone who doesn't like it, can kiss his arse. This. Was. A reminder of how life plays out, because how far are we as. Human Beings willing to go, in order to get what we want out of life. If you dig deep, the rewards will come. He called out the Don Callis Family. he spoke about his distain for Damn It Don Callis. A man who he has no time for. He called out Powerhouse Hobbs for a Match next week. When Aew comes home to Dailys Place. I think this will be the direction, for Anarchy In The Arena at Double Or Nothing. And i'm here for it.

Mercedes Mone

This should be a plotline to an episode of Diagnosis Murder, called. Who Attacked. Mercedes Mone. She blamed both. willow Nightingale, and. Julia Hart. Were is. Rick Ross when you need him. Accusations.

Adam Copeland and Willow Nightingale vs Julia Hart and Brody King

I don't know how to describe this Match, was it a swerve, or was it good, well if i'm hionest, it was a bit of both. Willow was seen to have been attacked backstage, taking her out for most of the Match. King battered Copeland in the early going. Julia Hart acted like a Jezzabelle. Willow came out to help Copeland. He hit Brody King with a sphere, and. Nightingale followed it up with a rolling cannonball, and was knocked out by Julia Hart, with. Brody's chain, and choked out, for the win.

Renee Paquette Samoa Joe Segment

Renee Paquette had a sit down interview with Samoa Joe. I liked all of this. Joe brought all of Swerve's failures into focus, by calling him a choke artist. Swerve would answer this back later on, by calling him out in the ring.

The Elite vs Pac. Daniel Garcia and. Penta

This verged as a mix of the sensational, and the damn right brilliant, and I loved all of it. From The Young Bucks interrupting theirs, and. Ftr's video package, and cutting to backstage in the guerilla entrance. Okada said he is coming for Pac, they told Tony Khan to hit their music, and get their elevator ready. The Match was great. From Nicholas Jackson having a thrusting compettion, with. Daniel Garcia. Mathew Jackson having a go at being a colour Commentator. I got shades of watching that dodgy Australian PPV, by the WWA promotion, in a hilarious way. The physicality was great, and the in ring comedy balanced with this perfectly. Okada got them the win after hitting Garcia with a rainmaker, after The Bucks gave him a superkick party. I loved this. The Bucks gave Garcia, a ladder sandwich, in the aftermath.

Hook and Chris jericho segment

Ok, I'm just going to say it. This was awful. It acted as a way to get Jericho on the PPV. I don't think I should say anything more.

Marieh May vs Deonna Purrazzo

Deonna Purrazzo, beat. Marieh May In a solid TV Match. Storm beat her down afterwards, causing. Thunder Rosa to come out and make the save. Which didn't go down well.

The Bang Bang Gang segment

Renee Paquette interviewed. The Bang Bang Gang, they challenged The Acclaimed to put their trios belts on the line, in a winner takes all Match, at. Dynasty. With them putting their ROH trios belts on the line. The Acclaimed and Daddyass answered this back later on.

Orange Cassidy vs Shane Taylor

Orange Cassidy, beat. Shane Taylor in a fun, and physical Match. He was beat down in the aftermath by faction buddies. Lee Moriarty, and. Antony Ogogo. Trent Barretta prevented. Matt Sydal, and. Christopher Daniels, from helping Cassidy. This. Was decent.

Will Osperay vs Claudio Castagnoli

I loved all of this. It acted like a highlight reel of great in ring action, and phenomanal chemistry. The near falls were well crafted, and their counteractions moulded the Match into perfection. Osperay got the win with his hidden blade finsiher. I could say so much about this Match, but if I did, we would be here for at least the rest of the day. I loved all of this. Claudio was beaten down by the. Damn It Don Callis Family. Moxley came out to make the save, and had a stair off with Powerhouse Hobbs.

Swerve Strickland calls out Samoa Joe

Swerve, finished the show, by calling out Samoa Joe to the ring, and it was awesome. Joe came out, and both men thought. Swerve took out a load of security, with a stomp. Nana got cornered, and both men gave each other their best, to end the show.

Overview Of Aew Dynamite

Is Aew back? Is the question this weeks Dynamite has left me with. Yes, the in ring action was good, and the promos were great, but is the collateral damage from last week, going to have an even bigger impact than what we've already seen, only time will tell.

This weeks Dynamite is a high 8/10.

The show ended with Swerve

Monday Night Raw Review

Intro

The last nine days in the world of wrestling have been, emotional, lnteresting, humerous, and downright embarassing if you're name is. Tony Khan. I personally have enjoyed all of it, from the stupid personal jibes, to the ill advised sex references. But there is also a caviat, this could be seen as embarassing on both sides. Even though. I don't think this is a major concern, the old metric of. If you think your no1, then you shouldn't even look down at no2, may need to be inforced, for the sake of collateral damage.

Rhea Ripley Vacates Her Womens Championship

Rhea Ripley was out first tonight, to start off Monday Night Raw, decked with her arm in a sling, and due to injury, she's having to vacate her Womens Championship. She wasted no time in placing the blame on Liv Morgans head, telling the story of, an eye for an eye. She called Morgan a coward, whilst sending her a stark warning, because when she comes back, she will be wanting blood, and if she gets her way, she will be following in the footsteps of. The Human Oven, by doing some hard time. Liv Morgan came out flanked by security, Rhea gives one of then a forehead sandwich to end the segment, and was given a nice little send from her Judgement Day guys backstage. Liv answered this back later on. All of this has come around due to Rhea suffering an arm injury, by the sounds of things. This is a sad way for things to come to an end for Rhea. I would've liked for her drop the belt at Summerslam, but I don't think that's going to happen anytime soon.

Sheamus vs Ivar

Sheamus returned to TV by beating Ivar in a fun, short Match. Sheamus hit the viking with a knee cap, and a brogue kick for the win. He then celebrated at Ringside with Pat Mcafe, and. Michael Cole. You love to see it.

HHH segment and Triple Threat Tag Team Match

What came next had me howling with laughter. HHH, and. Adam Pearce came out. HHH spoke of the importance of Wrestlemania, and told us that the Tag belts are changing, in line with the company's new era. Pearce then asked the Tag Champs. Awesome Truth to come out. What came next was gold. HHH gave R Truth his flowers, and in response. Truth had a funny back and forth with The King Of Kings. HHH was trying visibly not to corpse, whilst also thinking, uummm, what am I doing with my life. Truth thought that he was Tomasso Ciampa. HHH walks away after showing the dynamic duo, the new belts. And don't get me wrong. I'm pleased to see those ugly roman gladiatior belts go, but these new belts look like, a bowl of strawberry flavoured cereal. Adam Pearce then brought out the teams, that are coming for those belts. DIY. The Crede Brothers, and. The New Day, all faced each other in an excellent Match. DIY got the win. And will face Awesome Truth at a later date.

Drew Mcintyre segment

Jackie Redmond was trying to Interview Drew Mcintyre, he stormed off after seeing footage of Cm Punk. I think Drew is pissed off because he's hungry. Drew. Mate. Eat a snickers, because your not you, when your hungry. All though. I think that Punk is a Milky Way kind of guy. Other chocolate bars are also available.

Indi Hartwell and Candace Lerae vs Ivy Nile and Maxine Dupri

Indi Hartwell, and Candace Lerae, beat. Ivy Nile, and. Maxine Dupri, thanks to Indi's Hartwells cheating. I'm not interested in any of this.

Damien Priest Video

A promo video showcasing Damian Priests rise to the top. I have been a follower of this man, since his days as Punishment Martinez in ROH. And I think he fully deserves the success that he is having. Also am I the only person who thinks that the following segment, is the start of the downfall of The Judgement Day. And that Finn Balor is Hurricane Helms.

Andrade vs Dirty Dominik Mysterio

Andrade, beat. Dominik Mysterio, in a solid Match, filled with decent physicality, and good chemistry. Ricochet made the save, when The Judgement Day, tried to put a beating on Andrade. I don't think The Judgement Day are one for this world.

Chelsea Green and Piper Niven vs Kayden Karter and Katana Chance

Chelsea Green, and. Piper Niven, beat. Kayden Karter, and. Katana Chance, in a standard TV Match, that lasted for about 3 minutes. Am I the only person who thinks that HHH, has gone to the well of. Tony Khans bad booking, of his womens division, a little bit to often of late.

Cody Rhodes Segmen

I loved this segment. Cody has a radiance with the fans, and it shows everytime he comes out. However, some fans don't like him, and have started comparing him to mid 2000's John Cena. I don't understand the comparison. Cody Rhodes has been chosen to lead this new era in WWE, whilst Cena was placed in his position, and forced down our throats as a leader. Cody talked about Backlash, and both of his future opponents. He thanked Adam Pearce, and. Seth Rollins, and slammed The Rock, which only hyped up, what we could be getting in the future. He mentioned what Dwayne had told him. And I think it's safe to say, both men will bleed, when they eventually face each other. Cody spoke about the confusion with The Bloodline, and brought out Jey Uso, both men had a nice back and forth. Cody told that he has his back when he faces Finn Balor, they had a yeetathon, but Jey wanted to go it alone.

Jey Uso vs Finn Balor

Jey Uso, beat. Finn Balor in a decent TV Match. The Judgement Day tried to Beat Jey down, but he got away, and escaped through the fans. Which lead to something really cool. The Camera followed Jey as he left the Arena, and who was standing at the entrance. Sami Zayn.

Sami Zayn vs Chad Gable Intercontinental Championship

The camera shot followed Sami into the arena, he basked in the adulation of the fans, the noise that came from that building, sounded incredible. The atmosphere felt palpable through the TV screen. Both men showed their hand, and created something special, for the fans in attendance. The physicality was insane, and their chemistry was great. But it was Sami who got the win, after a hellouva kick from a roll up. But it was the aftermath that shocked everyone. Sami went over to celebrate with his family and friends, and just like that. Chad snapped, he suplexed Sami around, like a rag doll. I got real Kurt Angle 2008-2009 TNA vibes from this, and I loved all of it.

Overview Of Monday Night Raw

I thought this was the best episode of Monday Night Raw so far this year. Don't get me wrong. I loved last weeks show. I just felt this weeks show flowed better, even though it wasn't a promo heavy show, the in ring work went from bad, to good, to excellent, and the promos we got, went straight to the point. If this weeks Raw was food. It would be Mcdonalds, a food that fills you up, but also leaves you wondering, do I really need that extra portion of fries, because it left me wanting a bit more.

This Weeks Monday Night Raw is a solid 8/10.

Friday Night Smackdown Review 14.4.2024

Intro

I'm going to have to start with an apology, due to an urgent family issue. I'm not going to be able to review Aew Collision. This weekend has thrown me, and, mine through a loop, and then some. So I'm going to give Collision a miss for one week, and in its place will be my thoughts on were Aew should go, in the aftermath of. Tony Khans brain fart from Dynamite this week.

Smackdown

Cody Rhodes segment

This. Man, at the minute, has the world in his hands, and it is a sight to behold. His interaction with the fans is the stuff of Magic, he spoke about what it was that. The Rock gave him, and even though he didn't say what it was. I think it's clear to say, that. Dwayne gave him the keys to the kingdom. But on nights like tonight, it's all about looking forward, and not backwards. because he is looking forward, to tonights triple threat Matches. He put over all the participants, whilst telling them, if you come at the king, you best not miss. Because, he is undesirable, and undeniable, but most importantly, he is the champ. I loved this opening segment.

The Bloodline segment

The Bloodline, are starting to realise, they're not the big I ams anymore, when they notice that Cody has their dressing room. Why am I being reminded of Woody and Buzz from Toy Story. ( In a weird way ) Kevin Owens loved gloating about this.

LA Knight vs Bobby Lashley vs Santos Escobar

I had a lot of fun watching this. LA Knight is arguably the most over wrestler with the fans, next to. Cody Rhodes. From a triple suplex. ( that looked awesome ) The Street Profits, and. Legado Delfantasma getting involved, to. LA Knight getting the win, with his blunt force trauma finisher. This. Was. A decent little opener. Knight will face the winner of tonights main event, next week.

Lwo segment

Rey Mysterio, was seen backstage with his Lwo bandmates, he spoke of the pride he has for this group, and that he would love to have one more shot at the gold. Look. I love Rey Mysterio, but do I think that he should have another title run, yes. Because. I feel that his United States Championship reign, didn't live up to its promise.

The Bloodline segment

This. Was perfect, nothing more, nothing less, just perfect. The Bloodline, minus. Roman, came out to Solo's music, which through me. Paul Heyman took to the mic. And by orders of the Roman Blinders, he said that. The Bloodline needs to be held accountable, for everything that happened last weekend at WrestleMania. From Romans lust for revenge, and him holding onto anger being his downfall. But just before Paul could give his rally cry of positivity, for his tribal Chief. Solo stopped him, he takes the microphone from Paul, and turned his attention to his older brother Jimmy, and what came next, in my opinion, had some talented gents from Newcastle Upon Tyne, here in the UK,  feeling a sense of relief. Solo hugged his brother, and then Jimmy was jumped by hooded figure, that turned out to be Tama Tonga. Paul tried to stop this, but. Solo chucked his phone to the floor. And both men went to work on Jimmy. Later on Tama would have a face to face, with. Paul Heyman. By orders of the Roman Blinders.

Cameron Grimes vs Bron Breakker

Cameron Grimes. Then got wrecked by Bron Breakker. I like Bron Breakker. But I don't get why Cameron Grimes had to be used this way. It's such a waste of potential.

Bayley segment

I love Bayley, she was greated by a chorus of fans chanting. Bayley. Bayley. Bayley. I'm sorry America, you're chants are good, but it's not a patch on. Heeeeeeeey hey Bayley ooh agh I wanna know, would you be my girl. You Americans could learn something from us Brits. Her promo was great, she spoke from the heart, and thanked the fans, and just when you thought that she was going to announce an open challenge, for her womens Championship. Tiffany Stratton thought the same thought as me, ( which is worrying ) she came to accept, whilst putting over her distain, for not having a Match at. WrestleMania, so she decided to take up the challenge. Bayley said that she was mistaken, and the shot was not for her. It was for Naomi. Tiffany insulted Naomi. The artist of glow, then came out. Naomi then put over all of her achievements, and then said to Bayley, she would face her another time, because she wanted to face Tiffany. The Match was decent, not great, but decent. Naomi got the win, in a Match that was filled with great fluidity.

A Town Down Under segment

Theory, and. Waller then presented their own cheesefest video. The New Tag Champs are here, and my god their going to be annoying, but I think that's the point.

Logan Paul Segment

Logan Paul then had a segment, in which he focussed on the most important things in life. Boasting, bragging, and calling out Randy Orton. I liked this.

Chelsea Green and Piper Niven vs Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair

Chelsea Green, and. Piper Niven lost to. Jade Cargill, and. Bianca Belair, the segment beforehand was funny to a degree, but the Match, however was, too short for me to care.

Kevin Owens vs AJ Styles vs Rey Mysterio

This Match didn't get a lot of TV time, but then again. I don't think it needed it, because this felt like all three men, were working to a go go go go pace. From Kevins walk through entrance, trashing. Reys son. The Human Oven, to the physicality, and skill being performed at a high level. From an awesome looking German stack suplex, to AJ getting the win with a styles clash, slamming Rey on top of Kevin, for the win. He will face LA Knight next week. Yeeeeeaaaaah.

Overview Of Friday Night Smackdown

This weeks Smackdown was a lot of fun. The Matches were solid in places, and the segments were good, with one imparticular, going down an exciting route.

This Weeks Friday Night Smackdown is a high 7/10.

Where can Aew go from here

On Thursday mornings I have a routine. I wake up at 7am, I load up my triller TV app on my chromecast, and I watch Aew Dynamite, with my breakfast. But, this week felt a bit differant. Last week. Cm Punk gave an Interview on Ariel Helwani's MMA Podcast. And he proceeded to explain what happened at All In, between him, and. Jack Perry. He critisized Tony Khan, calling him a nice guy, but a terrible boss, he went over what he said to Khan in moments of anger. Now, don't get me wrong. I know that Cm Punk, isn't everyone's favourite person, due to the fact that he divides up a lot of opinion, but in my opinion, everyone has the right to have their say, and everyone has the right to stand up for themselves. and defend the ones around them, however all of Tony Khans attempts, have been met with wide spread confusion, and condemnation of pure hatetred. On the 3rd of April edition of Dynamite. Adam Copeland came out, and cut a rally cry promo, defending Tony Khan. The Elite, and, everyone who works for the company. This was met, with many fans feeling confused, whilst others, like myself, just thought. Let it go. Tony Khan in my opinion can't take critisism. Yes. I get that you have to defend you're terroritory, however shooting down your nose, to the point that fans feel embarrassed by you, and your company, means you've taken one step forward, by bringing world class talent, and having great Matches, but in the same breath, you've gone backwards, by resorting to petty nonsensicle jibes. I still love Aew. But stupid decisions, like what we saw this past Wednesday, will hurt the cpmpany in the long run, if this continues. The decision to air the footage from All In London, when I first heard about it, I had me saying to myself. No one is going to come out looking good in this situation. And in my opinion. I was right. No one has gained anything from this. Dave Meltzer said this on Wrestling Observer Radio. If you're Punk, then you're laughing. And he's right. All of this was a lose lose situation. As a Wrestling fan of over thirty years. I think it's great that we as fans, have more than one choice in town to go to, in order to find something that we like. Aew over the past few months, has given us great shows, with sensational action, but I'm starting to get the feeling, that the cloud that hung over the company's head since last September, is slowly reapearing, and that. Tony Khan is starting to look like the master of his own downfall. How Can Aew bring itself back to life, just have great matches, and let them do the talking. From what I can understand, their future is being negotiated, when it comes to their TV rights, which is why this is a pivotal moment in this young company's history, to act like their here to stay, so that the future wrestling fans can have a choice, on were they want to spend their time, and money.

 Aew Dynamite Review 11.4.2024

Intro

This week in Pro Wrestling has been nothing short of crazy. From Match of the year contenders at the show of shows, and a certain story coming to an earth shattering conclusion. But, over the weekend. Aew announced that they would be airing the footage of. Cm Punk, and. Jack Perrys fight from All In last year, as a fan who was in attendance, I have been waiting to see the footage, for ages. I have my thoughts on the matter, and I will get into them later on. And believe you me, there not good.

Samoa Joe vs Dustin Rhodes

This Match never happened, Joe got jumped by Swerve before things could get going. He was sphered through a table. I liked all of this.

Renee Paquette Orange Cassidy

Renee Paquette, tried to interview Orange Cassidy, but, she got no response.

Penta vs Adam Copeland TNT Championship Match

I liked all of this. This. Was a well worked, physical war, Copeland retained in what was a great Match. Julia Hart, and. Brody King came out to attack Copeland. Willow Nightingale made the save. Later on Stokeley Hathaway put his foot in his mouth. which pissed off Nightingale, Mercedes Mone gave her thoughts on Nightingale later on in the evening, and was attacked by an unknown asailant.

Heel Young Bucks segment and Ftr counteraction

I loved this segment. The Young Bucks heel personas are my favourite thing in wrestling, at this moment, The segment was great, it brought out the best in both. Matt, and. Nick Jackson. They showed the backstage footage, of the altercation between. Cm Punk, and. Jack Perry. I don't think this was needed, all it has done is ignite the flames, of, who's right, and who's wrong, my thoughts on this are simple. Perry should have listened to the execs, and. Punk should not have gotten involved, and Tony Khan, should've managed the situation better, by showing that he is a strong leader. What I saw here was nothing short of a high school fight. Yes, this is the wrestling business, and the standards and practices are differant, to how I work in my job. But. I like to think to think that commen decency remains in all industries. This didn't showcase that. In my opinion, everyone involved is to blame. Ftr came out and counteracted this on the spot. Both. Dax, and. Cash fired back at The Bucks, with, fire, and grace, and said everything that I wanted to say here. It also brings everything that Tony has said over the last 8 months into question. But then again. I don't think that were being told the full picture. That's just my opinion. No one came out looking good from this. And on the subject of pissing contests.

Will Osperay segment

Renee Paquette Interviewed Will Osperay, his promo delivery here was excellent, as usual, but the consistant digs at WWE went overboard in this segment. Osperay said that he came to. Aew, because he wants to face the best talent in the world, because he isn't afraid of the grind. Some men have tried to beat him, but they failed, he went on to say that, he can't call himself the best, until he has beaten Danielson. I'm not sure what to make of any of this.

Chris Jericho. Hook and. Katsuyori Shibata vs Shane Taylor Promotions

I hated all of this. Jericho's act has become stale, boring, and repetitive, and this Match was the perfect example of that. Shane Taylor Promotions got the win, and I don't care. Jericho, and his crew, had a segment with Renee Paquette earlier in the evening, and even that was a lot better than this.

Kazuchika Okada vs Cristiano Argento

Kazuchika Okada, beat. Cristiano Argento, in a squash Match, and wasted no time in calling out Pac. The Bastard came out, and was imidiately taken out by. The Young Bucks. Ftr came out to make the save. Okada accepted Pacs challenge for the PPV. The Match bang.

The Bang Bang Gang segment

Oh would you look at that. The Bang Bang Gang have new t shirts, and their a complete eyesaw. Jay White talked how much he hates The Acclaimed. Yeah. I didn't like this at all.

Toni Storms Charlestone Champane Celebration

This. Was f****** pointless. This was a waste of air time. Toni Storm spat Champane in Thunderosa's face, and. Deonna Purrazzo tried to have a scrap with her until Luther stepped in. This acted as a set up for Anna Jay vs Marieh May. Which acted as a pointless snack break. May got the win. Ok. That's it brain i'm done.

Dustin Rhodes vs Samoa Joe World Title Eliminator

Samoa Joe, beat. Dustin Rhodes, in a woefully booked main event. The Physicality was decent, but nothing much to write home about. Joe got the win, after hitting Dustin with his Championship belt, after Dustin tried to sell the look of confliction. I hated this Match, and it was a poor way to end, what was a woeful show.

Overview Of Aew Dynamite

Ok. I'm going to be brutally honest, this was the worst ever episode of Aew Dynamite. It feels like they've taken a giant backwards step. The plotting of this show felt lazy, and with last weeks Cm Punk Interview, still hanging over their heads, they needed to have an urgent reset, instead what we got was, petty, childish nonsense, being served up to the masses. Aew was the company that once prided itself, on having great Matches, without always needing to have a form of context, and now they've been reduced to this, which is what we got last night.

This weeks Aew Dynamite, by. Aew standards is a low 4/10

Poor old Tony Schiavone.
