Aew Dynamite Review 29.2.2024
Intro
With Revolution just 3 days away at the time of writing. I found myself in a reflecting mood. This Sunday a 39 year career will come to an end, when. Sting takes part in his last Match. As a fan of nearly 30 years. Sting has played a large part in my life as a fan, from a little kid watching from behind the TV screen, seeing him in person, when he was TNA, to his embarrassing WWE run, which was cut short, due to injury, until now. In December 2020. Sting made his return to wrestling with Aew, in a moment that would become, a crowning achievement in the young company's history, since then he has teamed with Darby Allin, after some fans had written him off, this confirms my belief, that sting is a one of a kind, because what he has done for Darby is unparalell, taking a chance on someone, who worked to turn there life around. This proves what type of man Sting is, and in a world that runs on chaos, he will be sorely missed.
Hangman Adam Page. Swerve Strickland, and. Samoa Joe Promotrain
I'm not a big fan of Promotrain segments, but this held my interest. It got to the point, and didn't waste any time. Hangman came out first, selling his injury from last week, and told the fans that he has not been medically cleared to compete, he spoke about what he thought of the Match being a 3 way, whilst putting over his own history with the promotion. Swerve Strickland came out, and talked about their rivalry over the past six months, from battering each other, to baby threats. Strickland said winning the world title on Sunday is his destiny. Samoa Joe then came out, and he dropped truth bombs, on both of them, saying that they are both battle tested, hungry wrestlers, but, none of that matters, because he is going to whip both of their asses. Hangman played possum, and attacked Strickland with his crutch, to end the segment. I liked all of this. It was a great way to send the Match, off to the races.
Renee Paquette Interviews The Young Bucks
Renee Paquette Interviewed The Young Bucks, after they had arrived at the arena, they then went on the hunt for Sting. From bodyshaming Eddie Kingston, to breaking into Stings bat room, this was a great episode long angle, that combinated with the main event segment. More on that later.
The Bcc vs Ftr and Eddie Kingston
I loved this Match, from each man facing one another, to the single Matches, that were woven Into this. From the quick pace it was worked at, the energetic bursts that sold the physicality. Kingston, and. Danielson having a Match, within a Match. This would be Kingstons downfall, as he succumbed to getting his head kicked in, and submitted by Danielson. This. Was a perfect tease for Sunday's Matches. And I can't wait to see either one.
Tony Schiavone Interviews Will Osperay
Tony Schiavone interviewed Will Osperay. I liked all of this, from being done with. NJPW, losing his luggage in an airport, to having a piss up with his mrs in Barbados. He spoke about his history with the Company, from his debut against Orange Cassidy, to beating Kenny Omega in his home country, which was my Match of the year, last year, to beating Jericho at Wembley Stadium. Damn it Don Callis, then came out, and hyped up. Takeshista vs Osperay this Sunday. How do you top, having Match of the year contender from last year. You have Will, face off with Takeshista, this was dynamite, and was excellent to watch, who wins, it's not the Don Callis family, it's the fans.
Orange Cassidy vs Nick Wayne Aew International Championship
This. Was all over the place. Yes, the physicality was good, but. All of the interferences, made the Match feel a bit two convoluted in my opinion. Christian Cage, and. Nick Wayne's Mum, who's got it going on, and. Killswitch. The Best Friends. Daniel Garcia, and. Matt Taven, and. Mike Bennett, all made appearances. Cassidy retained with an orange punch, from a distraction, caused by. Daniel Garcia. Roderick Strong tried to perform a beatdown, but failed.
Bang Bang Scissor Gang segment
More Members of the Bang Bang Scissor Gang, will be in action on this Saturdays Collision.
Krist Statlander vs Skye Blue
Skye Blue, beat. Kris Statlander, in a suprisingly competitive Match, that had. Skye Blue, getting launched into the fans by Statlander. And Julia Hart helping Skye get the win, thanks to Stokeley Hathaway.
Chris Jericho vs Atlantis Jnr
I didn't like any of this. It felt like a Cmll fever dream, and a desperate way to get Jericho on this weekends PPV card. In recent months, I haven't cared much about Chris Jericho, from his act becoming dull, to dangerous alligations, being aimed against him. If the past few months have taught me anything. It's this. Nothing suprises me anymore. Chris needs to go away, for a good length of time. He beat Atlantis with the walls of Jericho. And showed respect to his dad.
Stings Final Dynamite segment
39 years, multiple Championships won, and a legacy that has endured a lifetime, this Sunday comes to an end. And this was a great way to set up the end as we know it. Matthew and Nicholas Jackson came out, taking masks away from fans, but one fan was. Darby Allin. The Bucks beat him up. The old man who should have nothing to do with wrestling then came out, and turned on. The Bucks, with. Nick Jackson shouting we had a plan. and beating on him. Stings Music then played over the PA system. The Bucks walked up the ramp way, to meet Sting. But he came down from the rafters behind them, making me feel like a kid, watching from behind the TV screen. He beat The Bucks down, to take the show off the air. I loved all of this.
Aew Dynamite Overview
I enjoyed this weeks show, from the decent in ring work, to the teases for the PPV, that has made me think. Aew, take my money.
This weeks Dynamite is a solid 8/10
