AEW Collision Review 22.9.2024

Intro

This Thursday morning, i'm abandoning all of my plans, because. AEW Grandslam looks absolutely sick, and I can't wait to see it, as every match unfolds. This Thursday's review is going to be insane, so keep your peepers open everyone, and let the good times roll.

ROH Tag Team Championship Bunkhouse Brawl Dustin and Sammy vs The undisputed Kingdom

I had a great time watching this match, the physicality was nothing short of bloodsoaked insanity, and I loved every second of it, the table, and ladder spots, were insane. People complain nowadays about how wrestling matches, don't have in built stories, and in my opinion, I can't understand where this complaint comes from, because the rally cry of urgency that I saw during this match, reminded me of why the hardcore style of wrestling, is needed, in an industry that has turned into a polished toy. Sammy and Dustin Retained, this was brilliant.

The Conglomeration segment

I love Mark Briscoe, give this man all the belts, his promo was interrupted by The Premier Bodyshamers, thank god for Rocky Romero. Mark Briscoe. Kyle O'reilly. Hologram, and. Rocky Romero, then beat. The Premier Bodyshamers, in a fun tv match. I liked this. What should my word of the day be?

Britt Baker Is Back

The Dr will see us, at the Dynamite 5th aniversary show, and she's going to face Sareena Deeb. Ok Patrick calm down, just slowly get this info into your brain. Patrick your not listening.

MXM Collection

Mace, and. Manswar, confirmed, they will be debuting. Max Castors Jacket, and everyones going to love it, well, everyone except Max Castor, that is. He rapped about it later.

Marieh May vs Lady Frost AEW Womens Championship Eliminator

Marieh May, beat. Lady Frost in a decent tv match, however my enjoyment was ruined by technical difficulties. Deonna Purrazzo offered Yuka Sakazaki protection, and, hey look. Willow Nightingale is back.

Darby Allin vs Evil Uno

Darby Allin, beat. Evil Uno, in a standard tv match. Darby, and Uno's segment beforehand was excellent.

Jeff Jarrett

In footage recorded after Dynamite this past Wednesday. Renee Paquette interviewed Jeff Jarrett, and he called out Hangman Adam Page, and challenged him to leather strap Lumberjack match, at GrandSlam. I love this man.

Sareena Deeb vs Queen Aminata

Sareena Deeb, beat. Queen Aminata, in a solid tv match. I love watching Sareena Deeb work.

Saraya Rules Match

Saraya Challenged Jamie Hayter, to a Saraya Rules match, and. Harley Cameron explained the rules, and, well it sounds, a tad predictable, it sounds like a game that my brother, made when we were kids. I can still here me screaming that's not fair until this very day.

Hook and FTRunners vs Roderick Strong The Beast Mortas Rush and The Grizzled Young Veterans

I loved this match, it felt like a chaos induced trip to the funfair, from the great chemistry, physicality, and the matches that took place within the match. Rush got the win for his team, when he Dax Harwood the horns.

Nigel Mcguinness Closes The Show

I loved this ending segment. Nigel Mcguiness took to the mic, and spoke to his favourite Clam Digger. Bryan Danielson. This. Was. An excellent reminder of how great Nigel is on the mic. Tony Schiavone called Nigel out, and said Danielson is one of the best that he's ever seen, and, because Danielson hasn't been cleared, so this might not happen.  Nigel told Tony to not get in his way, and not make that same mistake again. Nigel walked down to the ring, and told Bryan, that he wants to face him, one on one. All of this was excellent. The crosspaths, that have mounted each mans career, were laid bare here, and it was great to see. Nigels beliveability was on full display, and it made me like I had been transported back in time to 2004, watching ROH at my mates house, oh the memories.

Overview Of AEW Collision

I had a great time watching this edition of weekly tv, the matches had a point to them, and the in ring work, went from solid, to great.

AEW Collision is a solid 8/10.
