My Top 5 Controversial Wrestling Moments To Ever Air In The UK.

Intro.

Over the years I have been asking myself, just what are the most controversial Wrestling moments to ever air, or in some cases, not air in my country of England, my god their have been plenty over the years. So I thought it was a good time, to go back and take a look at these moments.

5 Mae Young Royal Rumble 2000

I'm not going to go into too much detail here, because I don't want to pay for anyones therapy, but this pissed off Channel 4 here in the UK, and also my mum, who walked with the washing, as this played out.

4 Mohammed Hassan.

Wrestling, when it comes to dealing with sensitive topics, wretling deals with them, with the subtlety of a sledgehammer, and this was no differant. he debuted in and around the same time of when the London Bombings happened, and Sky here in the UK were not happy, which is highly understandable.

 3 WCW In 1999.

From Ric Flair in a mental home, to Oklahoma. I'm not going to say it. Making fun of someone, for having a disabilty, is just low. I don't think that the UK media picked up on this at the time, but thanks to the WWE Network, there both here, for all to see.

2 Edge Torments Vicki Guerro.

This. Was heavily edited here in the UK, and given the fact at the time when this aired. Domestic Violence cases had sky rocketed, this hasn't aged well, at all.

1 Trish Barks Like A Dog.

Some people wouls say that this was the attitude era, but to me this is no excuse, because it should never have conceived in the first place. It showed the narrative of power, at it's full exposure, and it was horrible to see. These attitudes are never welcome, and shouldn't have been welcomed then. Sky over here refused to air the offending footage, and it was the right thing to do. Given the fact that Domestic Violence cases at this point had risen, and showed no sign of slowing down. Humiliation isn't funny, it's actually desperate, and unwanted.

Monday Night Raw Review 5.11.2024.

Intro.

WWE have managed, over the past couple of years, to engage fan reception, in other world markets. Here In the UK. The WWE has always had a solid fanbase, that ranges, from. Families. Die hards, and, people like me, who are lifelong fans. If you told me when I was nine year old, that the product, that in the year of 1996, when the WWF was being run into a creative state of flux, that nearly 30 years, would be heading a global renaiscance, that is captivating the world, one country at a time, is something that needs to be marvelled at. I get that the Saudi deal is controversial, and I get the reasons why, but it doesn't change the fact that Globalisation, is the norm as the endeavour deal is now part of every fans, day to day fandom.

Superstars Showing Up.

The Judgement Day. Damien Priest. Sheamus, and. Seth Rollins, were all seen showing to the arena In Riyadh.

Liv Morgan Segment.

The Mulletchaser, came out to welcome us to Monday Night Mullet, she told us that thr revenge tour is over, and her world tour has just begun, she was flanked by. Raquel Rodriguez, and. The Human Oven. Liv gloated over the fact that she's the Crown Jewell Champion, having knocked off Nia Jax, and leaving Rhea Ripley in a state. The Human Oven, got booed out of the arena. Jade Cargill, and. Bianca Belair came out. The Mulletchaser, put the seperation thread in Jades head, whilst Bianca laid out a challenge, because their not the only ones that won gold on Saturday. Adam Pearce comes out, acting like a man who's lost his will to live, and said that, tonight there will be a Battle Royal, and the winner will face Liv for her Championship, at a later date. And that Battle Royal starts right now. I didn't like this. I'm not a fan of TV Battle Royals. They always feel a bit flat, and this was no differant. Iyo Sky will face the Mulletchaser, at a date to be confirmed. I think this is the direction for Survivor Series. I didn't like this.

The New Day Segment.

Kofi looked at Xavier saying what. After Xavier played the blame game after last week. Later on, they lost to the War Raiders, in a fun story built Tag Team Match.

The Miz Segment.

Sing it with me now. Well I don't know why The Miz came here tonight, he had a feeling that something ain't right, he's so scared that Bo is going to knock off of his chair, and he's wondering how he's going to get down the stairs. Wyatts to left of him Jokers to the right. Miz has been kidnapped on TV. I liked this.

Goldbergs Retirement announcement

Goldberg is retiring next year, oh well. Who Cares. As you can tell. I'm not a fan of Big Billy Boy.

The Bloodline Segment.

This. Was, by far the best thing on the show, by a mile. Sami Zayn came out, and spoke to the fans in his native Arabic tongue, and seeing, and hearing the response from the fans upon Sami's arrival, was something special. He couldn't get a word of English out, be fore he was interrupted by Jey Uso, and he wasn't himself, from arrival. He asked Sami, did he kick Roman accidentally. Jimmy Uso came out, and went to work on putting the sead of doubt in his brothers mind. Sami calls Jimmy a hypocrite, whilst playing back their history, saying that he makes bad decisions. The honesty, and disfunctional family dynamics, were played out to perfection. Jey welcomes Sami back into the fold, asking him to come to Smackdown this week, to sort this out, as a family. Jimmy said that he isn't family. Sami walked up the ramp, looking dispondant. I loved this segment.

Dragon Lee vs Chad Gable.

Dragon Lee, beat. Chad Gable, in a fun TV Match, thanks to the assistance of Rey Mysterio, after Ivy Nile attacked Zelina Vega.

Gunther Segment.

Gunther gave his thoughts on the 4 way main event. I don't think he cares that much.

Fatal 4 Way Main Event.

Damien Priest, beat. The Human Oven. Sheamus, and. Seth Rollins, in a fun TV Main Event. The physicality, and, chemistry, was solid, and. Bronson putting Seth Rollins through the announcers table, and giving. Priest a tsunami. I thought this was a fun Main Event. I liked all of this. He will face Gunther at a later date.

Overview Of Monday Night Raw.

I don't know what to think about this weeks Monday Night Raw. It felt, very much like a mix-bag, that offered me nothing, yet I was getting the full flavour of the sweets I was eating.

This weeks Monday Night Raw, is a solid 6/10.

My Top 5 Funniest moments In Wrestling.

Intro.

Ok guys, were going to keep it light hearted today, because i'm thinking about My Top 5 Times, that wrestling nearly made me want to piss myself with laughter. So I hope you've brought your laughing gear, because I know I have.

5 The Miz And Morrison Annoy Braun Strowman Through Song.

I loved this at the time, back in 2020, when the world was scrambling for normalcy, when the pandemic wreaked havoc in our daily lives. This gem came along. With great lyrics like this. Hey hey ho ho. The Universal Champion needs to go, because Braun has wet the bed since he was six years old. I know what your all thinking. Patrick your a 37 year old man child aren't you, and to that I say. Yes.

4 Not Feeling Ucy.

God Bless you Sami Zayn. Watching all of The Bloodline corpse, after these words were uttered in November 2022, was pure gold.

3 Vince Mcmahon Dancing.

Agh yes, the 1980's, this time period did give some gems, from. The Goonies, to the birth of Thrash Metal, but nothing was more horrorfying, than this awful human being dancing, whilst wrestlers acted as his backing band, however when DX ripped into him, during the Summer of 2006. I have to admit that I laughed my ass off.

2 Vince Mcmahon Getting A Hospital Drip shoved Up His Ass.

WWF in 1998. I think this moment speaks for itself. No words needed here folks.

1 Anything David Flair Did In 1999 WCW.

Just a quick question, Who Remembers David Flair? No answers. I'm not suprised, I mean he was so bad at wrestling, to the point that it was funny.

Top 5 Times wrestlers Broke Fan illutions.

Warning.

In this article. I will be discussing themes of Sexual Misconduct. Coersive Control. Racism, and. Child Murder, reader discretion is advised.

Intro.

Wrestling is a miriad art form, that manages to engage with audiences, and leave fans wanting more. The right match can leave you feeling flawed in the best way, whilst others can leave an endlible mark on you, that makes you want to come back to this art form, time, and, time again, however, the industry isn't all strawberries and skittles. The industry has a darkside, that often gets shelved and put away, and not spoken about, but I feel that these conversations are important, because in order to be human, we have to act human. It's really not that difficult.

5 Stone Cold Steve Austin.

As a kid growing up. I was a massive fan of Stone Cold Steve Austin. And I still am to this day. When you're a kid, the idea of your idol doing something horrible to another person, is inconceivible, but this happened in September of 2002, when Austin, was arrested on charges of domestic Violence. Even though I'm a fan of steve's. I don't condone violence against women, but I do think that there's good in everyone, and it's up those who have done this to others, to find it in themselves to become a better man.

4 The Fabulous Moolah.

As a wretling historian. I was suprised to learn about the awful alligations surrounding. The Fabulous Moolah, that came out nearly 10 years after her death, from not paying the talent that she managed, to hiding very serious assaults. In 2018 in WWE were going to have a Womens Battle Royale, named after her at Wrestlemania 34 but due to fan backlash, these plans were changed, and it was the right decision. When things like this surface, sensitivity, needs to be the overall concensus.

3 Hulk Hogan.

I don't know where to begin with Hulk Hogan. I get that some people, still hold him in high regards, but to me, he's a lying awful human being, that shows no respect towards ethnic minorities. I have no other words.

2 Macho Man Randy Savage.

Randy Savage is one of my favourite wrestlers of all time, his matches are well planned masterpieces into the land of escapism, but in the 1980's when he was at the epitath of his career, his behaviour towards his then manager, and real life wife. Ms Elizabeth, could nowadays be looked at, as problematic. As the years have gone Coersive Control cases have become more disturbing, and frequent. Now I must ad that this is alleged, but it still leaves a nasty taste in the mouth of many fans, if this is true.

1 Chris Benoit.

As a fan growing up watching Pro wrestling. I never thought that someone could do something so Evil, but, as some people say. Ignorance is bliss, and the importance of youth, is something that can't be underestimated. On the date of June 24th. The Bodies of Chris's wife Nancy, and their young son Daniel, were found at the Benoit home. Chris was also found dead, he had killed his wife, and, son, and then took his own life. Now when I was researching this list. There was a lot of detail, that I couldn't commit to article, due to the graphic nature of what he did. I do feel that the lifestyle that Chris led, the normalcy of how cte was treated at this point, and the tragic events of the past few years, all had a hand in what led to this awful outcome. I have no doubts that what he did was evil. Daniel would be in his twenties today, but the person who's supposed to protect him, let him down, in the worst way possible. Every child deserves a parent, but not every parent deserves a child. Life is precious people, don't take it for granted.

My Top 5 MJF Matches.

Intro.

To a lot of my friends who are wrestling fans, they know that i'm a big supporter of one Maxwell Jacob Freeman. His matches, always seem to level his mic skills, as both make you feel like you've witnessed a blistering assault take place, right in front of your very eyes. I love this man, so her are 5 of his best matches.

5 MJF vs Darby Allin AEW Full Gear 2021.

The build to this Match, was a laid bare masterpiece in promo storytelling, as. Max went on a tour de force, telling the world tales of Darby's upbringing, and how he was in the same car, when his uncle died. This led to a superb Match at that years Full Gear PPV, and on a card that featured. Eddie Kingston vs Cm Punk. The Inner Circle vs American Top Team. ( ugh Dan Lambert ) Brit Baker vs Tai Melo, and the conclusion of Hangman Page vs Kenny Omega, that brought an end to The Elite saga, this match needed to stand out. This was the mantra that all young performers should have, because in my view, this nearly stole the show.

4 MJF vs Chris Jericho AEW All Out 2021.

If you align yourself with Chris Jericho, in any capacity, then it could have two side effects, you could get sucked into his vortex, and never leave the midcard, or you're career could go on to reach new heights. I think the latter could be said for Max on this occassion. I loved this match at the time, and It still holds up, a few years down the line, it's just a shame that Jericho has allinated 75% of his own fanbase.

3 MJF vs Adam Cole AEW All In 2023.

Ok. I'm going to be a bit biased here, because I attended this show, however this Match is the perfect reminder of just how wrestling can suck you in, and not leave you alone, until it's finished with you.

2 MJF vs Will Osperay AEW International Championship All In 2024.

Ok. I'm going to be a bit biased, ( again ) because I attended this show, both Max, and. Will put on my Match of the year. I love this match.

1 MJF vs Cm Punk.

This. Match, and it's build, are flawless, nothing more, and nothing less, just flawless.

My Top 5 AEW Collision Matches.

Intro

This is a change to the standard review, that I would always do on a Sunday, because AEW's Collision feed, got cut short here if you were watching on Triller TV, look these things happen, so I decided to pivot, and write something differant instead.

5 Cm Punk vs Ricky Starks Summer 2023.

Look in his eyes, what do you see, well in AEW Cm Punk was a troublesome cult of personality, even though, his tenure with Tony Khans little promotion that can, ended in embarrasing fashion, his match against Ricky starks, was a highlight in the shows early months.

4 Kenny Omega vs Ethan Page December 2023.

What do you get, when a Canadian faces Nooooorth Caarolina's favourite son? A great TV Match, that's what. I don't think Kenny has ever had a bad match against anyone.

3 Bryan Danielson vs Eddie Kingston Continental Classic  December 2023.

If you haven't seen this match, then I urge you to go and seek it out, because, my God, they battered the daylights out of one another. This is a must watch.

2 Kenny Omega vs MJF.

I love this Match, the flow was excellent, and, the physicality was superb. These are two of my favourite wrestlers from todays game, and it was great to see them go at it.

1 FTR vs Juice Robinson And Jay White.

From it's physicality, to its execution, this Match was flawless. Lasting just under an hour, It had me hooked from start, to finish. Enough said.

WWE Crown Jewel 2024 Rview 2.11.2024.

Intro.

With the backdrop of sport washing, leaving a nasty after taste over these events. I feel it's up to th individual who consumes WWE on mass, ( like I do ) to think for themselves, when it comes to watching these shows. My stance is this. If I didn't review Wrestling shows, with the hope of getting paid for it one day. I wouldn't watch them. This. Is just my personal view.

The Bloodline vs Roman Reigns And Jimmy And Jey Uso.

I loved this Match. The Chant Of OTC rang throughout the arena, as. Solo, and his crew made their entrances. Roman, and, Jimmy came out to a heroes welcome, as Jey embraced the Saudi Arabian fans, and brought in a differant energy. The Presentation of Solo Sikoa is something, that on nights like this, needs to be savoured. The Matches within the match, were a study in contrast, as the ethics of Pro Wrestling storytelling was laid bare, as the near falls were woven into the physicality. The final exchanges were excellent, but it also saw the old Bloodline's downfall, because Roman became isolated, this allowed Solo to give Roman two Samoan spikes for the win. Solo, and his crew, then attacked Roman. Jimmy, and. Jey, this led to Sami Zayn coming out. And not accepting Solo's offer of joining his Bloodline, by suplexing him, he beat down Solo's new crew, and then accidentally gave Roman a hellouva kick, that was aimed for Solo. Jey, and. Jimmy then stood divided, whilst Roman held his jaw.

Womens Fatal Four Way WWE Womens Tag Team Championship.

I didn't like this. Bianca Belair, and. Jade Cargill, beat. Damage Ctrl. Lash Legend, and. Jakara Jackson, and. Piper Niven, and. Chelsea Green. In a boring Match, that I thought was missing a vital ingridient, and I can't put my finger on what it is.

Seth Rollins vs Big Bronson Reed.

From the carnage in the early going, to near falls being cleverley placed at the front of the match, this encounter was a slugfest, based on decent physicality. It wasn't the best match on the card, but it did what it said on the tin. It was a good filler match, that saw Seth get the win with a top rope stomp. I liked this.

Liv Morgan vs Nia Jax Womens Crown Jewell Championship Match.

This. Was. A storybased mess, that never recovered, from after it got started. Tiffany Strattons near cash in, was predictable. The appearance of Raquel Rodriguez didn't add anything to proceedings. Liv got the win, with The obLivion. I didn't like this.

Kevin Owens vs Randy Orton.

This. Was. Another mess, that was thrown out when an official was attacked. Security failed to seperate both men. Adam pearce got stunned by Owens, and both men thought in the fans, to the point that Kevin put Randy through an equipment table. This. Was. A waste of time.

LA Knight vs Carmelo Hayes vs LA Knight WWE United States Championship.

I liked all of this, these three had a great way match. That was fast paced, and paved way for a decent flow, that allowed each men to have energetic bursts, that sold the story the match. Knight retained his belt, after stopping Andrade's face plant, and giving Carmelo his bft finisher. This. Was good.

Cody Rhodes vs Gunther Men Crown Jewell Championship.

I loved this Match, from both men showcasing a great groundgame, in the early going, that turned into a physical tour de force, with some fantastic back and forth, as both. Cody, and. Gunther, showed great in-ring knowledge, when telling the story of best vs the best, through the realm of Pro Wrestling. Cody got the win, by counteracting Gunthers sleeper hold, into a roll up. Cody, and. Liv were pressented with their belts, as the final images of the night, were centered around, both men showing each other respect, as the pyro went off into the night. Yes, this sport washing on a global level, but that's the aim of game, the moments outweigh the problematic elements, when it comes to corporate deals.

Overview Of WWE Crown Jewll 2024.

Overall. WWE Crown Jewell was a show that resembled a confusing mix-bag. The card was a mesh of solid in-ring work, and poorly conceived booking, that made me scratch my head with dumbfoundedness.

WWE Crown Jewel 2024 is solid 7/10.

Smackdown Review

Intro

With Crown Jewel, at the time of writing, just over an hour and a bit away, my excitement levels have dropped, because last night Indi Hartwell. Tegan Nox, and. Baron Corbin, were let go from thier contracts, this is the part of the industry that no one likes to talk about. Now I don't know the full story as to why this happened, but I can imagine it's the same old story, budget cuts. I have no words.

Nia Jax Segment.

I hated all of this. Nia came out, and gave a standard promo, her verbalage was predictable, everything she wants, she gets. And at Crown Jewel, she's going to beat The Mulletchaser, and humiliate her partner, The Human Oven, The Mulletchaser came out, and things got worse, her verbalage was hideous, and guess what she wants the belt as well. Tiffany Stratton came out, and at that point I was done, she gave her game plan away, promising to cash in on either lady, however I did like the fact that she mugged off The Mulletchaser, by saying that if she cashes in on her, she will get custody of The Human Oven. The Mulletchaser, then beat Tiffany in a flat TV Match, after, Tiffany clocked her one. This. Was. A letdown.

Kevin Owens Segment.

WWE. Then showed a video, that. Kevin Owens had sent in, he said that he doesn't want to fight Randy, because at Crown Jewel, he's going to hurt him. I liked all of this.

Pretty Deadly vs The Street Profits.

The Street Profits, beat. Pretty Deadly, in a flat, and boring tv Match, that offered absolutely nothing.

Naomi And Bayley vs Candace Lerae And Indi Hartwell.

Naomi, and. Bayley, beat. Candace Lerae, and. Indi Hartwell. In another flat, and boring TV Match. Considering the fact that this was a pre taped show. This would act as Indi's last match for the promotion. This Industry can be very cruel.

Roman Reigns Segment.

This. Was, by far the best thing on the show, and is one of the best moments The blue brand has produced all year. Roman, and. Big Jimmy Uso, came out. Jimmy wasted no time, and tried to reason with his Tribal chief, and get him to drop his beef with his brother Jey, because if he can, then so should Roman, because if they lose tomorrow night at Crown Jewel, then all this has been for nothing, and. Solo, and his crew, will reign. Roman took the mic from Jimmy, and out came Jey Uso, he entered through the fans, and his energy was palpable. He spoke from the heart, saying that he wants to get back at Solo, for how he has treated his family, because beneath the surface, nothing is fixed. He still hasn't recovered from the physical, emotional, and, mental abuse, that he was put through, at the hands of his cousin, and if he treats him like that again, during this go around, then he's out, because, now he's an equal, to the rest of his family. Roman has to now respect him, this leaves Roman to agree with his cousin, with one word. Yeet. Get your ones up guys, because the band is back together. This. Is better than the Oasis reunion.

The Motorcity Machine Gunns Segment.

Next Week The Motorcity Machine Gunns, will be on the Grayson Waller Effect. Theory, and. Waller got schooled here, and it was great to see.

Iyo Sky vs Piper Niven vs Lash Legend vs Bianca Belair.

Iyo Sky, beat. Piper Niven. Lash Legend, and. Bianca Belair, in a solid four way TV Match.

Cody Rhodes And Randy Orton vs Imperium.

Cody Rhodes, and. Randy Orton beat. Imperium. in a slick well worked TV Match. Kevin Owens, then came out, and attacked the pair in the aftermath. Allowing Gunther to choke him out as the show went off the air.

Overview Of WWE Smackdown.

This. Show was an uneven mix-bag, personally I liked elements of this broadcast, whilst other parts of the show stunk.

This Weeks Smackdown is high 6/10.

Top 5 Times Moments When Wrestling Went To Far.

Intro.

As most of you know I've been a wrestling fan, for nearly over thirty years, and to say that i've seen the good, and, the extremely ugly, is an understatement. From serious social issues, being handled with the subtlety of a sledgehammer, to storylines, that left me feeling sick. It's time to delve into the weird and wonderful people.

5 May Young Gives Birth To A Hand.

I don't know what to tell you guys. It was the attitude afterall. Whatever you do, don't google this. I don't want to be responsible, for paying for your therapy.

4 Claire Lynch.

I think if you mention this TNA storyline, to everyones favourite flat earther. AJ Styles. I think he might want to recoil in horror. I know how he feels, because this storylines gives me unwanted flashbacks, to how bad TNA's booking was at this time.

3 Lita's and Kane.

This is a whole mirage of all things that are wrong in wrestling. This is all just bad.

2 Dan Lambert In AEW.

This man is just disgusting. His Interactions with Brandi Rhodes in AEW, laidbare, an air of unwanted misogyny in Tony Khans promotion.

1 Vince Mcmahons many controversies.

Where do I begin with this guy, from the awful allegations, that have tainted his reputation, beyond repair, his consistant need, to be the focus of his own show, in the 2000's, to humiliating Ashley Messaro, in the worst way possible, to dominance that he has had over his own talent, to the point that some of them, have been manipulated into thinking he's a father figure, this man over the span of forty years, went too far, and beyond.

Top 5 Tag Team Matches

Intro

Earlier this week I asked the question, who is my favourite Tag Team ever? And after that I got thinking, what is the best tag team match ever, in my opinion.

5 Edge And Christian vs The Hardyz WWF No Mercy 1999.

I love this match. Everytime I see it, I feel like i've gone back in time, to when I was twelve years old. This Match is a flawless look into how these teams reignited the releventcy of a stipulation that was becoming bastardised.

4 Chavo Guerro and Hernandez vs Kazarian and Christopher Daniels vs Kurt Angle and AJ Styles TNA Bound For Glory 2012.

If  the blood feud that was. Bobby Roode vs James Storm, and. Jeff Hardy vs Austin Aries, for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship, were the centre piece of the this PPV, then this match stole the show in my opinion. Just pure magic.

3 The Uso's vs The New Day Hell In A Cell 2017.

This. Was. My favourite PPV match of 2017. These teams had undeniable chemistry, and on this night in early october 2017, it was on full display. I love this match.

2 The Young Bucks vs FTR AEW Dynamite April 2022.

This. Match was an insight into how to craft out a story in modern day Pro Wrestling with minimal ease. This. Match is simply put. Perfect.

1 Hangman Adam Page And Kenny Omega vs The Young Bucks AEW Revolution 2020.

If you've never seen this match, then I urge you to seek it out, because this is an all time classic, that needs your undevided attention. Enough said.
