Aew Dynamite Review 8.5.2024

Intro

Bright lights are ready to burn, and set my soul on fire. Viva Las Vegas. Viva Las Vegas. Viva, oh. Viva Las Vegas. Why am I starting of this review singing like the king? this past Saturday. It was confirmed that WWE Wrestlemania 41 would be emmulating from the home of, gambling, awful singers, doing awful residentcies, and of course. Their world famous $ 4.99 steak and eggs buffet. I have mixed feelings about this. I understand that WWE want to embrace warmer weather, to appease Netflix, their new business partner, but what does this mean for Aew. Just one month later, it would the time of year that Aew holds their signature PPV. Double Or Nothing, which has been held in Vegas, Including this years 4 times, this could split the market down the middle, and that's not always a good thing from a business metric. Aew. Stateside, has seen a slight increase in their ticket revenue, but it's only by a small number, so this could have a lasting impact, that will split the audience down the divide. Personally. I hope this doesn't happen, because tribalism is a nasty thing.

Adam Copleland segment

Adam Copeland. Was seen showing up to the arena, and he told Brody King their match for the TNT Championship, will be a. No Dq match, more on that later.

Orange Cassidy vs Trent Barretta

I liked this. From Both men fighting in the fans. Trent taking an awkward knee bump, coming over a guardrail. Damn It Don Callis coming out, and sitting on commentary, the fans showed their distain for him, in his home country, whilst. Trent verbally berrated Cassidy. Trent gave Cassidy multiple piledrivers, but it wasn't enough, because. Cassidy got the win, with a roll up. This made the former Best Friend seeth with anger, he proceeded to attack Orange, he gave him a piledriver on the steel steps, he gave his throat some extreme acupuncture, thanks to the underpart of the ring. But the sight of Trent wanting to take Cassidys head off, with a car battery, was awesome, because it showed the intent he was willing to inflict. Kris Statlander, and. Damn It Don Callis, would act as mediators. This. Was great, and the looming calling of a heel Orange Cassidy, is very exciting.

The Elite segments

The Elite were then spotted in footage recorded earlier in the night, showing up to the venue, and taking. Tony Khans parking space. Jack Perry cut a promo after last weeks show went off the air, he called. Kenny Omega, a coward, telling him, he's not a hero, and that The Elite are going to change the world without him. We then heard from the best bout machine, who was sitting in his hospital bed. From the importance of family, to the pressent day, he spoke about his former friends, saying that their not the only evps, so he made the match for. Double Or Nothing. The Elite vs Team Aew. Anarchy In The Arena. This. Is. Going to be crazy. I can just feel it.

Serena Deeb segment

I liked this. From the fans doubt seeping into Deeb, to her losing not being an option, to the awful life threatening seizures, that have plagued her over the past year, to her interaction with the Timeless one Toni Storm. Their promo dual was great, funny, and fiery. Storm tried to get a cheap shot in on Deeb, but the professor counteracted this, by sparking her out, ok. Just a quick reminder. Don't piss off Serena Deeb. It's moments like this, that I feel sorry for Tony Schiavone.

Marieh May vs Harley Cameron

Ok. I'm going to be honest. I didn't like this. The match felt way to formulaic for my liking. May won, and she celebrated with her drinking friend. Mina Shirakowa. Don't get me wrong. I think it's great the women got this slot. I just feel that Aew can do much better than this.

Pac segment

I don't have a lot to say about this other than. Pac vs Jay White. Yes please, oh and Colton Gunns Geordie accent is horrible.

The Elite video package

Ok. Whatever smart person thought of this in the production meeting, give he, or she a pay rise. I loved this, it was corny. It was self indulgent, but most importantly. It was genius.

Swerve Strickland and Christian Cage

Swerve Strickland was out next, and if I said that he was a Skittles bag of happiness, then I would be telling lies. He talked about not blaming Cage for what he did last week, because he has done the same thing in the past, because if you want to get to the top, you've got to take out the person at the top, so he wasted no time in calling out, the all round nicest man in the world, and his family. Cage played on the fans local sports team, who were in the Stanley Cup Final, ( i'm British I don't get Ice Hockey ) for local sports team heat. He told Swerve that he's going to take something away from him, each week, untill there is nothing left, as his wave of momentum ends, at the feet of Christian Cage. Swerve said that he did'nt come alone, instepped the rest of his Embassy faction. Cage also said that when he looks in the mirror, he can still see gold in his teeth. Cage threatens to remove them, I think he has a second career as a dentist. Swerve goads Christian, and at that point. The Embassy turn on Swerve, by attacking him, and putting him through the announcers table. The Embassy has sold there souls to Cage, proving my point. These men, like Bart Simpson, have no souls. Cage and his family were seen backstage, with. The Elite. Does this mean that Hangman Adam Page is on his way back?

Willow Nightingale segment

Willow Nightingale was being interviewed backstage, and this lady is ready for Mercedes, but is Mercedes ready for her. Our C.E.O counteracted this later on in the show.

Jay White vs Rocky Romero

Jay White, beat. Rocky Romero in a standard tv match, that had my NJPW loving heart skipping multiple beats.

Samoa Joe segment

Former Aew World Heavyweight Champion. Samoa Joe, cut a promo whilst working out. Fear is how he falls, because other men fear him. I think he's a big Linkin Park fan, if so, then this man has great taste in music.

The Learning Tree vs Mojabi and Harlen Abbott

This. Was. A waste of time. The Learning Tree got the win, thanks to Big Bill doing all the work. And. Chris Jerichos promo afterwards was a botched filled mess.

Adam Copeland vs Brody King No Dq match for the TNT Championship

This. Match. Was a bloodsoaked war, and I loved it. From the physicality being perfectly performed, the table tease. Kings knees meeting a barricade. Copeland giving him a ddt on the apron, onto that busted him open, a steel bar being used for a crossface submission, a this is awesome chant echoing throughout the arena, to. Copeland putting king away with a sphere, coming after he was sphered through a table. Kyle O'reilly came out to make the save, and get into Copelands good graces, so he can have a title shot on Collision.

The Elite end the show

I loved this ending. The Elite came out, they had an important message for Kenny Omega. Okada wished a speedy recovery, whilst Matt Jackson verbally laid into him. Matt also said that. Tony Khan gave them no choice in doing what they, because they want to make this company great again. Nick Jackson then agreed to the match. Ftr came out, but they were'nt alone, because they brought with them. Bryan Danielson, and everyone's favourite raving nutter. Eddie Kingston. The Elite vs Team Aew. Anarchy In The Arena, at. Double Or Nothing. Yes please.

Overview Of Aew Dynamite

I liked this weeks Dynamite. It feels like storylines are developing nicely as we head into the summer months, when all roads will lead to Wembley. With the segments ranging from, good, to bad, and the in ring action remaining consistant.

This weeks Dynamite is a solid 8/10.
