Aew Dynamite Review
With Double Or Nothing, at the time of writing, just ten days away. I've got to say, that I have enjoyed the build up to the show this years show, because it marks the turning point to where Aew are going to go, in the summer months, the teases have already been laced, and the promise that has come from them, is something to get excited about. Over the past few weeks. I have started to get the feeling Aew, are verging on doing something special, because being a wrestling fan, is like supporting my team, the red side of North London. It's easy to get sucked in, because you live with the hope, that things are going to go the way you want. Need I say anymore.
Jon Moxley and Bryan Danielson vs Kyle Fletcher and Jeff Cobb
This. Was. A chaotic stomper from the start, and I enjoyed every second of it. The in ring work was the soul focus of the match, giving the matcg time to breathe. Don Callis was used in the right way on commentary, because he acted as the storyteller of the piece. Kyle Fletcher was the unsung hero of the match, putting forward, a great showing for himself, the exchanges were excellent, which led to some great near falls. But it was Moxley who got the win for his team, with a deathrider. Takeshista came out and attacked Mox, causing Claudio to come out, and make the save, complete with a crowbar.
Adam Copeland Segment
The fans in Washington, didn't get to embrace the metalingus pop, because it was interrupted by. The House Of Black. They sent Copeland hurdling down the rampway, and when they got him in the ring, they embraced gang culture, bully boy tactics, akin to a watered version of the attack scene in. A Clockwork Orange, With. Malakai Black taking on the role of. Alex Delarge, taking his faction down the path of vile self indullgence, he in instructed Bubby Matthews, to take off Adams wedding ring. Black cut a promo on Copeland, causing Kyle O'reilly to come out, and get taken out, by. Brody King, and. Malakai Black. Malakai would later on, accept. Copelands challenge for a Barbwire Cage Match, at. Double Or Nothing. This. Was. Brilliant.
The Elite Segment
The Elite, then cut a backstage promo, they bragged about injuring Eddie Kingston, whilst. Okada, threatened Dax Harwood. Nice shoes lads, were can I pick up some of those sick Reeboks, here's hoping I can find them in size 16s, look i'm a tall man with big feet, deal with it. Ftr then told us, they have got someone else in, to take up the fight for the cause.
The Young Bucks vs Christopher Daniels and Matt Sydal
This. Was. A mid tempo match, at best, that was hightened by, the match playing into the heels hands. Jack Perry sat on commentary, and antaginised Tony Schiavone. ( that poor man that drink looked awful ) The Physicality was good here, and the over riding arc of the match, was played out well. Matthew, and. Nickolas, got the win, with a TK driver on Daniels, and then those p*****, did the unthinkable, they fired Christopher Daniels. I loved this, they acted like complete smarmy dicks, and it was glorious to see as a viewer.
Hook vs Sebastian Wolf
Hook beat a local jobber, with the red rum, and then called out, ugh sigh. Chris Jericho. Hook said that he wants a shot, at getting his FTW Championship back tonight, to which Jericho replied, nah sorry mate, but if you want it back, then you have to go through a triple threat, this week on Collision. A fight broke, when Hook went for Big Bill, causing Shibata to come out, and make the save. Renee Paquette Interviewed. Hook, and. Shibata, this could lead to something decent further down the line. Enter stage left. Samoa, who tried to put some sense into these lads, but all he got was bodyshamed, by. Shibata. This. Felt needless, pointless and a waste of time, also. Body shaming isn't big or clever, so don't do it, the industry is moving on from type of humour.
Swerve Strickland vs Brian Cage Aew World Title Eliminator
From Swerve's promo, that turned into a walk through shot, the match having a fast paced even flow, both men showcasing their good chemistry, to the realisation of predictability rearing its ugly head. Swerve got the win, with a stomp and house call combo, but it was the aftermath that stole the show. He was about to give cage, a steelchair beatdown, when. Christian Cage's music played, he stepped out on the stage, with Moma Wayne, so that her bastard of a son could attack Swerve from behind. He layed Swerve in the head with a framed picture of his family, busting him open. Cage then cut a promo on him, that was tianted with blood, lst, and family pride. This. Was. Awesome.
Timeless Toni Storm vs Harley Cameron
Timeless Toni Storm, beat. Harley Cameron, in a decent tv match. Serena Deeb came as a top of the rampway spectator, their match at the PPV should be decent, also. Toni Storms promo, from earlier in the night had me howling.
Roderick strong and Will Osperay face to face
Ok guys, no words needed here, because all of this was excellent.
Willow Nightingale and Mercedes Mone contract signing
I'm not the biggest fan of contract signing segments, because I feel the concept has been completely bastardised to death, but this was decent, both ladies counteracted each other perfectly, delving into their history, with fire, and grace, A fight broke out to end the segment, and Mercedes left, probably feeling red faced, after she was powerbomded through a table, by. Nightingale. You love to see it.
Kazuchika Okada vs Dax Harwood Aew Continental Crown
This. Was. A brilliant main event match. Both men put on a well paced clinic, with woven in added detail, and high level physicality, that garnered a well deserved, this is awesome chant from the fans. The Exchanges were great, and the near falls were flawless, but it was Okada who retained his crown, by hitting Dax with a rainmaker for the win. The Elite came out, to put a beating on the fallen Dax, so out came the rest of team Aew, to make the save, but their was only 3 of them, this paved the way for a returning Darby Allin, to come out, prompting Tony Schiavone to say, is he the forth man, just like he did 28 years ago, at the start of the NWO. This. Was. A great way to end the show.
Overview Of Aew Dynamite
Now that the summer months are here, all eyes are looking at. WWE, and Aew's booking directions, and coming of the back of three weeks worth of solid tv, after. Tony Khan lost his mind. I think it's safe to say that Aew, have found their feet again, in my opinion, and with All In on the horizon, in the coming months, now is the time for Aew to keep moving forward, and don't look back, and on the grounds of this weeks Dynamite, and last weeks Collision. I think their striving to do just that.
This Weeks Aew Dynamite is solid 8/10
