AEW Dynamite 250 Review
Intro
With All In at the time of writing, just over 5 weeks away, the ticket sales here in the UK, have seemed to have hit a stale point, because only 45.000 tickets have been distributed, I've heard some talk online saying that this is a failure, and the only thing I have to say is, 45.000 tickets is nowhere even near a failure, If i'm Tony Khan, I'm not worrying, the card is starting to come together, and it's looking stadium worthy, in comparison to last years, and when you look at the company's injury metric, from this year, to last year, and, it's a day and night situation, nothing will be phoned in, and two quote Waynes World 2, if you book it right they will come.
MJF vs Will Osperay Aew International Championship
This. Was. A match of the year contender, and it was being given away for free, on national tv, and it was brilliant, and an easy contender for one of the best matches that Dynamite has ever seen. The physicality was strong, Impersonation was the best form of flattery, their counteractions were superbly met, and mastered, with ease, from fighting in the fans, Osperay having a trash can launched at his head, beer being chucked in his face, Max performing a sick looking piledriver on him. Will giving Max an os cutter from the top of the barricade, Will having to have his shoulder popped back in, Max putting Will through a table, with a flying elbow, Osperay hit an awesome looking Styles clash on max, However. Wills downfall started to look inevitable, when he sold the look of the tiger Driver, this allowed Max to hit him with the Dynamite diamond ring, for the win. This was excellent, Tony Schiavone said on commentary, that this could be the best match that has ever been on Dynamite, and you know what, he's not wrong, infact well said sir, well said indeed.
The Acclaimed and Mark Briscoe segment
The Acclaimed are now on team AEW for. Blood And Guts, Swerve Strickland gave this the ok, alongside a fired up Mark Briscoe, I showed this to my dog Jane at 7am this morning, and Briscoe had her barking like a mad puppy, you love to see it. This pissed off The Young Bucks, oh and Okada, put your tongue back in mouth mate, we all know, that Mercedes Mone is hotter than a plate of Nandos.
The Learning Tree Segment
This wasn't bad, because it was actually watchable. Big Bill brought Jericho out, and after he did his normal routine, he put over the fact that he was on the first episode of Dynamite, and now that the show is 250, he will be around for the next 250, and at that point I started thinking to myself. I must've pissed someone off in a past life, to deserve this. Jericho said that in order to stop the random acts of violence, that he, and his crew have been committing, all people need to do is listen, and learn from his tree, he begs with the fans to help him stop this, and asks who will listen to him, and commeth the hour, commeth the man. Minoru Suzuki, who walked to the ring with a contract for next, a title match for the FTW Championship, next week, and. The Redwood, and. The Bad apple are banned from ringside. I liked this.
Mercedes Mone vs Nyla Rose AEW TBS Championship
Mercedes Mone, retained her TBS Championship, against. Nyla Rose, in a solid tv outing, but it was the aftermath that had me buzzing. Britt Baker who was dressed as a fan, decked out in merchandise, she popped a punch in Mercedes face, and the two ladies had a pull apart brawl. I liked this. I expect that next week the match for Wembley will be made.
Jack Perry Segment
Jack Perry called out Darby Allin, whilst he made Brandon Cutler his play thing. Poor Brandon Cutler.
Marieh May Segment
I thought this was genius. Marieh May cut a promo cosplaying as Toni Storm, this was perfect from start to finish. She spoke in a subtle tone as she laid in barbs at her former mentor, she talked about how she bided her time, and played with Toni like a toy, this was Old Yeller turned upside down, and it was great, because AEW is all about Marieh. I have no words.
Kazuchika Okada vs Swerve Strickland 1st ever match
Even though it ended with one of my wrestling pet peeves, a dq finish. This made sense, the match itself was decent up until that point, Okada, and. Swerve showcased decent chemistry, as they exchanged holds with ease. The Elite came out, and put a beating on the champ, causing the rest of team AEW to make the save. Jack Perry showed up. Hangman Adam Page showed up, and then just as the chaos was reaching a climax, Darby Allin paid omage to his mentor Sting, by coming down from the rafters, in a spot reminiscent of the time when Sting faced off against The NWO all those years ago. This was a brilliant way to send one of the Dynamites of the year of the air.
Overview Of Aew Dynamite 250
This. Was. A brilliant reminder of just how great this company can be, the matches flowed like a fine craft beer, and the segments were great.
This Weeks Dynamite is 10/10.
