My Top 5 Vince McMahon Scandals

Warning

In this list I will be discussing themes of Sexual Assault, and, bereavement, reader discretion is advised.

5 The Montreal Screwjob

This is a subject that is no secret, as this act of betrayal, at the fact that fear could've made Vince fall, was all to overwhelming. Over the years Bret The Hitman Hart, hasn't changed his thoughts or opinions on this subject, as in the new Netflix Documentary, he explains how he knew everything, going back to the days when Wendi Richter went through the same treatment, over a decade ago. This. Was a controversial move, that McMahon thrived on, as his Mr McMahon Character was born off the back of this.

4 Oversexualising Women

The attitude Era, gave talent the room to grow, whilst the times were changing in the tv landscape, the use of sex became, a taboo, that was becoming normalised in wrestling, at a time when the old industry heads, were becoming less important. The Year was 1998, and the tv landscape catered more to the 18-34 age demo. Vince latched onto this, and tv companies, and parental groups were not happy, as the sudden shift in tone of the show had changed. In the years since Women like Candice Michelle. Sable, and. Lita, have all come out and expressed how degraded they felt, having to perform certain acts.

3 The Saudi Deal

This is something that to me, is morally wrong. This. Was widely condemned, and continues to be divide, between fans that just want to watch the shows, and those who have a moral compass, my personal stand is this. If I didn't write about Wrestling, I wouldn't watch these shows. I could go into the details, behind the non human side of this show, because they are all to graphic.

2 The Death Of Owen Hart

On May the 23nd the WWF hosted its Over The Edge PPV, this event would be remembered for one horrific reason. Owen Hart, was due to make his entrance from the top of the venue, that was until a tragedy unfolded. Owen fell to his death, after his harness snapped, he fell to his death. This led to a marriage of legal issues, as Owens widow Dr Martha Hart, sued the company, and. The WWF, then sued the manufactuer that produced the harness, this would lasted into the early part of the Noughties. The whole saying of the show must go on, echoed true on this night, and it was the wrong thing to do, wrestlers were wheeled out to perform, after there friend had just died. The looks on Road Dogg. The Undertaker, and. Jeff Jarretts faces, said a thousand words, the PPV should have been called a day, but it wasn't. Vince let the show go on. No wrestling show should ever come above a human beings life.

1 The Janelle Grant Lawsuit

On Thursday the 23nd of January this year. Janelle Grant filed a lawsuit against Vince McMahon. John Laurinitis, and. WWE on the grounds of Sexual harrassment. Sexual Assault, and. Sex Trafficking, this was gone through in great length in an 68 page legal dosier, that got put out into the public domain, this was a sickening reminder, that when money, and greed enter the stage, human effection, rights, and dignity, become nonexistant, and hard to watch. given what we now know.
