AEW Collision Maximum Carnage Review.
Intro.
This is going to be my intro for this week. God bless you Christopher Daniels. I met this man last year at All In, and he couldn't have been nicer, I've been an admirer of his work for many years, and it was great to see him get his flowers, even though it was for the last time. God speed my Fallen Angel.
Opening.
Rated FTR. Kazuchika Okada. Christopher Daniels, and. Hangman Adam Page, give there thoughts on their opponents, before the show began.
Texas Deathmatch Hangman Adam Page vs Christopher Daniels.
I loved this Match. It was a bloodsoaked masterpiece in TV booking, both men had fun with bardwire, complete with sickening table spots. Daniels put up a great fight, as the blood dripped down his face, his energy drained from his body, until the final moment when he couldn't get back up from a deadeye. He missed the 10 count, because exhaustion took over his body. Hangman saw someone who could be looked at as a mentor, out to pastures new, and it was an emotional watch. God bless you Fallen Angel.
Toni Storm Interview With Tony Schiavone.
All throughout this. Toni Schiavone must've felt like he had gone backwards. Toni Storm sold her amnesia perfectly, and the look on Tony Schiavone's face said, well, ok then. Storm gave her thoughts on Marieh May, and the pair will meet next week on Collision. I have to say I liked this. It made me laugh, after a long day in my day job.
The Hurt Syndicate Segment.
The Hurt Syndicate want Gold. I don't blame them, but it also says a lot about the state of AEW's Tag Team Division at this moment.
Undisputed Kingdom vs The Infantry and Lee Moriarty.
This Match had me thinking. Be still my Black'n Gold loving heart. The Undisputed Kingdom, beat The Infantry, and. Lee Moriarty, in a solid TV Match.
Will Osperay Segment.
Will Osperay will meet Kenny Omega, on this coming weeks Dynamite, and all I have to say is hurry up Wednesday.
Lance Archer And Brian Cage vs Top Flight.
I didn't like this. Top Flight are better than being used as predictable fodder. Archer, and. Cage got the win.
The Acclaimed Are Done
I'm not sure what to make of this. The Acclaimed are no more. This was a decent segment, that took me back to the days of watching WWF Sunday Night Heat. Max called out Anthony Bowens, and both men had a good seperation promo dual, that left Daddyass, to try and sort out the pair, however this backfired, because. Castor told Bowens to pick a side, and he chose Billy Gunn, this pissed Max off, who was made to do the walk of shame, as he solked back up the ramp, like a sibling who has been left out, at a birthday party. This was, what it was.
Swerve Strickland Segment.
Am I the only person, who thinks that, he's going to kill that Jeffrey Dalmer wannabe Ricochet?
Tomohiro Ishii vs Kazuchika Okada Continental Championship.
This on paper looked like a banger, but what we got was an intricate TV Match, that played into both mens hands, Big Tom got injured at the halfway point, and helped carry the Match to what was a solid TV encounter, Okada retained with his rainmaker finisher.
Dustin Rhodes vs Adam Priest.
Dustin Rhodes, beat. Adam Priest in a fairly standard TV Match, that did nothing for me.
Julia Hart vs Harley Cameron.
Julia Hart, beat. Harley Cameron in a flat TV Match, like the before, this did nothing for me.
Rated FTR And The Outrunners vs The Learning Tree And The Deathriders.
I'm in two headspaces, when it comes to this Main Event. One part of me liked this, and the other part of me, thought it was just something that passed me by. The Matches within the Match, were great, the spots were well placed, and the in thread storyline of Hobbs getting taken out by Chris Jericho's crew, beforehand, made for a chaotic story, and him getting the win for his team, when he came out, and getting the win, by giving Bryan Keith a spinebuster. Was a clever move, Oh well at least that kid who was sat at ringside, who gave him a piece of his mind, was funny.
Overview Of AEW Collision Maximum Carnage.
I thought this broadcast, was a varied mix-bag, that only half of the show sat well with me, their was bits I liked, and their bits, that made me want to bang my head against a wall.
AEW Collision Maximum Carnage is a low 7/10.
