AEW Dynamite Review.
8 Man Tag Team All Star.
This was Sensational. The Elite, and Ricochet, beat. Mark Briscoe. Kevin Knight. Speedball Mike Bailey, and. Kenny Omega, in what was a stunning opener. Omega, and Okada having multiple teases, the Matches within the Match were an interesting sight that sold the importance and story of the Match. From Brainbusters getting pulled from out of nowhere, and dropkick tombstone combos being performed effortlessly, all of this added in with the physicality, made this opening 35 minutes just fly by. Okada hit Mark Briscoe with the rainmaker for the win. I loved this. Over the past few weeks AEW have treated us fans to some the best TV Matches of the year, and oh my, this was no differant. A class outing all round.
The Hurt Syndicate Segment Part 1.
The Hurt Business wrecked some guys, and talked business. More on these guys later.
The Opps vs Nick Comorotto Rhett Titus And Myles Hawkings.
The Opps Murdered these guys, and then got attacked by The Deathriders. Mox nearly got choked again by Joe, but he released the hold after Shibata was given the Hook treatment By Claudio Castagnoli. This left Joe to call out Mox, and make their Match at Beach Break a Steel Cage Match, and at that point I started salivating, because this is going to rule in my opinion.
Mercedes Mone Segment.
Mercedes Mone put herself over and not the Owen Hart Cup, whilst stating that Jamie Hayter looks like Daphne from Scooby Doo, that really funny because People say I look like Shaggy.
The Patriarchy Segment.
Christian Cage accepted a Match against Jay Lethal for his son, telling him to man up. Christian Cage gives me real Dance Mom vibes.
Timeless Toni Storm vs Miyu Yamashista AEW Womens Title Eliminator.
I liked this. The styles between both ladies was an interesting play of cultures. Storm got the win, and Mercedes Mone, and. Jamie Hayter had a scrap on the stage.
The Damn Don Callis Family Segment.
Don Callis put over his own faction, and Kyle said that he was going to get me to say his name, and at that point I went downstairs to check my kitchen, and then I came back upstairs to my bathroom, because If I say someones name, then they might just appear like it's Wrestlemania.
The Hurt Syndicate Segment.
This was my favourite segment from the show. MVP calls out Max, whilst calling for arms. Max plays up to the occassion, as Shelton gives him the thumbs up, whilst Bobby was refused, after Max delivered his standard vocal barbs. Bobby attacked Max, and said that if he wants in, then he has to Hurt someone, because The Hurt Syndicate hurt people. Max was left carrowing in the corner, as MVP turned his back on his friend. I think this is teasing a Max turn on MVP.
Nick Wayne vs Jay Lethal ROH TV Championship.
This was better than what I thought it would be. I had fun watching this. Nick retained, as his problematic version of pushy parent wrapped the belt around his waist.
Kyle Fletcher vs Hangman Adam Page Semi Final Owen Hart Tournament.
This was a fantastic bookend to what was a great show. This Match was something special, with some excellent back and forth, and physicality between both men, and the exchanges moulded into the story perfectly. Hangman will meet Osperay in the Final at Double Or Nothing. What a show, and what a way to send it off the air.
Overview Of AEW Dynamite.
The term the power is back seems to get thrown around two much these days, but I do feel that AEW is on it's way to a form of precipice, and judging on the balance of this show, it's great to see, as the road ahead continues to look better and better, as All In approaches.
This weeks AEW is a solid 9/10.
