Monday Night Raw Review 20.5.2024

Intro

As Jeddah Saudia arabia starts to beckon, and the line up is looking great. I think. don't get me wrong, the politics behind these shows are horrically awful. I don't think it's ok, to shame fans, who can't see their favourites all year round. You can choose who runs your country, but you can't choose how they run it. I know that's a controversial statement, but. It's true.

Superstars show up

Iyo Sky. Lyra Valkyria. Gunther, and. Jey Uso, were all seen showing up to the arena in Greensboro North Carolina. Iyo would get her own promo video later on.

Sami Zayn and Chad Gable segment and match

Sami Zayn started off the show, he came out and spoke to the fans. Sami  spoke about his issues, that can be described in two words. Issue 1. Chad Gable. Manipulative, and issue 2. Destructive. Bronson Reed. Sami spoke from the heart, as he bets on himself, because, he will still be intercontinental champion after Saturday. Chad Gable came out, acting like a fake positive marta, he puts down his faction, which allows Sami the time to ask them a question, who long will it take for these two, to wake up, and realise what he's like. Sami then challenged him to an impromptu match. I had a lot of fun watching this, at 6.30 am. The main story of the match, was the fracturing of The Alpha Academy. Chad Kicked Maxine, and. Tazawa out from ringside, after they refused to help him cheat. The physicality ended up being a back up dancer to the storyline of the match. Otis ended being the deciding factor in the match. Chad slapped into reality, as Master Gable got the win, with a awesome looking Chaos Theory. I love heel Chad Gable. This Man is a saint. poor Otis. Listen to Sami mate, he's got some great advice to give.

Bron Breakker vs Kale Dixon

Bron Breakker wrecked Kale Dixon, that's it. This had me barking like Pat Mcafe. My dog Jane must've been thinking, what the hell is going on upstairs.

Lyra Valkyria vs Iyo Sky Queen Of The Ring Semi Final

The match started out a bit clunky, but after those issues were ironed out, both ladies had a decent match. Lyra got the win with sunset roll up. She's now in the final on Saturday. Her interview afterwards showed her with a nice happy glow, whilst. Iyo was pissed off, you love to see it. Lyra later on ate a knuckle sandwich, courtesy of Liv Morgan.

Awesome Truth Segment

New Catch republic didn't look very impressed with R Truths jokes. He told The Miz, that Andre The Giant will be helping later on. Oh R Truth will you ever learn.

Gunther Empty Arena Segment

Gunther cut a promo in an empty arena, putting shame on Jey Uso. I liked all of this. Ludwig Kaiser feels the same about Jey.

Carlito and The Judgement Day

Carlito was hiding out in The Judgement Days clubhouse, after he attacked Cruise Del Toro from the Lwo. Priest told said, that the apple chomping bastard, must pay his way. This Would backfire later on thanks to Braun strowman, when JD and Finn lost to Awesome Truth. I think JD is going to be slaughtered next week.

Becky Lynch and Liv Morgan segment

I wasn't a fan of this, it, just felt off, and didn't get to the point quick enough. The Pair had a standard promo dual, that delved into their past, from Liv talking about Beckys self indulgence. Becky counteracted this perfect, by going through her achievements, and how she has paved the way for equality in this industry. Becky challenges her to a fight, there and then, but. Liv backs out, because she's going to wait until Saturday. Yeah, this wasn't great, was it.

Fatal 4 Way Match

Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark, beat. Maxine Dupri, and. Ivy Nile. Katana Chance, and. Kayden Karter, and. Dakota Kai, and. Kairi Sane. In a match that started clunky, and unfortunately, never recovered. This. Was a real letdown.

Drew Mcintyre Segment

Oh thank you Drew Mcintyre, for saving us from this drab edition of. Monday Night Raw. He told Priest to keep his eyes on the prize. Clash At The Castle is going to be decent isn't it.

Jey Uso vs Gunther King Of The Ring Semi Final

I liked all of this main event, the physicality was solid, their chemistry was excellent, and Jeys walk through entrance shot was awesome. Gunther maintained his power through out the match, and got the win, by choking Uso out.

Overview Of Monday Night Raw

I'm going to be honest. I wasn't that infused with this week's Raw. It just felt mid, the promos ranged from good to bad, and the in ring action went the same way. Maybe it's just me, being a grumpy old 36 year old, but I thought this was very mid.

This weeks Raw is a mid 6/10.
