WWE Bad Blood Review 6.10.2024

Intro

Going into this PLE event, I have to say that I was looking forward to sitting back, staying up late, and watching it, the build was solid, and the promise, showcased a lot of pride. Their was a lot of back and forth, as to what would main event the show, personally I didn't care what went first, because. I sensed that the show would slap, and if i'm honest, well, Here's what I thought.

Cody Rhodes and HHH Dodgy Acting

The show kicked off with HHH, and. Cody Rhodes doing their worst buddy cop movie routine. This wasn't funny.

Hosts Welcome Us To Bad Blood

Bianca Belair. Jade Cargill, and. Naomi, welcome us to Bad Blood. The party that these ladies were having, looked pretty good. I mean you put DDP, and. Jey Uso, in a room together, and all you get is good times. WWE used legends well sparadically throughout the show, as the likes of Jaqueline, and. Scott Steiner, amongst others, were seen, having a great time.

Cm Punk vs Drew Mcintyre Hell In A Cell Match

This. Was. A visceral, violent, bloodsoaked masterpiece, from start to finish. The story of hatred, became the backdrop, for carnage, as both men made each other bleed their own blood. The physicality was turned up to one hundred, from insane table spots, and story planned psychological violence, made for a treat for my senses. This. Was brilliant, and a clearway to allow crativity to flow. The near falls were well timed, and the homages that were paid to the first Cell match, and. Austin, and. Bret, were clear references, as the past has given way to the future. Punk got the win, as both men were physically, and mentally spent. Punk refused to take medical help, whilst Drew was taken to hospital, and received 16 stitches in his head. This. Is the most relevent Cell match, in recent years, and arguably the best.

Bayley vs Nia Jax WWE Womens Championship

This. Was. A real let down. Nia, and Bayleys movesets didn't mesh, and Tiffany's failed attempt at a cash in, was predictable. Nia retained her championship. No amount of Skittles Deserts could scrub this from my memory.

Finn Balor vs Damien Priest

This. Match. Was a physical slugfest, that fell into a stagnant state, due to the interference of The Judgement Day. Priest got the win, this was a sorry excuse of a match

HHH Segment

Ok, i'm not sure what to think about this. This made me feel, dirty, and scared. The Cerebal Assasin, spoke about his time living in Atlanta, whilst he was working in WCW, he praised WWE, saying that this is the 60th consecutive sell out. Next month WWE is heading to Saudi Arabia for Crown Jewel, and their going to be embarking on something that they've never done. The main champions won't be defending their championships, instead they will be competing for the male, and female Crown Jewel Championships, because of, well, sport washing. Gunther came out, and cut a fairly tame promo, attacking Bill Goldberg, to the point, that Billy boy wanted a fight, security seperated both men, as the segment came to an end. I hated this. The idea of Sport washing is a scary thing, because of what it covers up, and scared for if Gunther faces Goldberg, due to his track record injuring opponents.

The Mulletchaser vs Rhea Ripley WWE Womens Championship Match

I'm going to sound like i'm repating myself, but, here goes nothing. I'm not sure what to make of this. It was a mess from start to finish. I had fun watching The Human Oven nearly injure himself, falling out of the cage, and hanging upside down, allowing his former mami to smack him with a Kendo stick, because he's been a naughty boy, the physicality failed to get off the floor, and the match suffered as a result. The match was thrown out, when a returning Raquel Rodriguez, came out to attack Rhea, to crickets, yeah, this didn't go down well.

Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes vs Solo Sikoa and Jakub Fatu

This. Match. Was a stroke of genius, from both mens entrances being a complete study in contrast. Cody walked out to a brass band, and even though Roman had a big entrance, he walked out alone, no Bloodline, and no championship, he was all alone. The matches within the match, made for fascinating viewing, as the match unfolded. The pace was very lofi, but the drama made up for it. The near falls were perfectly timed, and the camera angles were placed to perfection, as a hooded figure was seen, this was a returning Jimmy Uso, he handed out Superkicks, to his brother, and little cousin, he gave one to his brother Solo, and then fed him to Roman for the win with a sphere. The aftermath was even more exciting. Jimmy hugs his cousin, as Solo, and Jakub, and the rest of the family, tried to have a feast on Cody, like a pack of hyenas. Roman, and. Jimmy made the save. Roman looked at the belt, that was once his, he hesitated, and then gave it back to Cody, and just when Cody lifted up his possesion. The Allstate Arena went crazy, as the words if ya smell what The Rock is cooking played throughout the arena. The Final Boss is back, andd he didn't say a word, all he did was stare at his cousin, and the man who he put over, when he left the last time, he gave them both the death look, and the throat slitting sign, as the PLE went off the air.

Overview Of WWE Bad Blood

Was this show a must watch? Yes, but what are my overall thoughts, and if i'm honest, it was a real mix bag, and even though this show has a match of the year contender, and an earth shattering conclusion to the main event, will be the main focus on the wrestling news cycle, for quite some time. The mid card resembled the filling of a sandwich, that leaves you still feeling hungry, after you've eaten it. This is a disapointing conclusion, espicially after WWE have put in so much time, creating magic in the build. It's shows like this that make me feel cynical, in all the worst ways.

WWE Bad Blood is a solid 7/10.
