AEW Collision Review 5.5.2025.
Toni Storm vs Lady Frost.
I'm once again skipping the intro. Adam cole walked out at the beginning, and i'm not going to lie, at first I thought, were is he going, because he came out, and walked off, but he was going to the commentary desk, to join Tony Schiavone, and Nigel Mcguinness who were tucked away in the corner. The Match played out like a layered indie Match. complete with excellent lofi counteractions, and well placed near falls. Toni got the win, and then called out the entire womens division, and becoming not just the queen of my heart, but the queen of the boardwalk.
Jon Moxley Segment.
This would be the start of an episode series of middle of the road promos from Mox, he talked some nonsense, whilst taking aim at Samoa Joe, who answered this back later on.
Rush vs Sammy Guevara vs AR Fox vs Kevin Knight 100 000 Speedway Match.
I liked this. The Matches within the Match made this a worth while watch, the counteractions were solid, and the near falls aided the story of the Match. Sammy got the win, and now has more money than me. Oh well.
Megan Bayne vs Harley Cameron.
I'm not sure what to make of this, It just felt like something was missing from the match. It was very lofi, with good in match moments that sold the story. Bayne got the win, and was then attacked by a returning Anna Jay, complete with a 2 by 4.
Jon Moxley And Marina Shafir segment.
Jon Moxley, and. Marina Shafir, took away airtime from a Match, because they could. Jon answered back what Joe said from earlier. He played into Joes hands with the help of the fans, with a yeah chant. I liked this it felt vital, and needed, but it also highlights AEW's issues. Yes Mox has regained a bit of his believability, but at what cost?
The Outrunners Segment.
The Outrunners want to get their hands on Ropongi Vice, should Ropongi Vice be scared of a couple of lightning bolts? Well what do you think.
Josh Alexander vs Brody King.
I liked this. The Match was a solid slugfest, that moulded in with the pacing of the Match. Stylisticly this worked. The physicality played out like a well told film plotline, that had a bad ending. This ended in a time limit draw.
Crew Segment.
I don't know what you guys think of Lio Rush, and Action Andretti, but i'm not a fan of these as a tag team.
Max Castor Segment.
Max Castor got beaten by Daniel Garcia in under a minute, he's better than this. I met Max last year at the AEW All In fan meet up, and he could'nt have been nicer. I'm not a fan of Max's new character. Daniel Garcia then came out and called out FTR.
Gates Of Agony vs Rey Jazz and Goldie.
The Gates Of Agony wrecked these local Enhancement talents, and then had a fight with Big Bill, and. Bryan Keith, that saw Bryan take a bump onto the grill of an equipment truck. This was what it was.
FTR vs Paragon 2 out of 3 Falls.
I liked this. This was great, however the fans were dead for this, the physicalty was good, and the near falls played the part of the selling point of the Match. This was a fast paced run ride, that didn't let up. FTR got the win, and were then called out again by Daniel Garcia. This teased a potential Match between all three men in the near future.
Overview of AEW Collision.
This was a decent broadcast, that had it's flaws, but overall it was enjoyable.
This weeks AEW Collision is a solid 7/10.
