Friday Night Smackdown Review.
Intro.
I hate having to write about things like this. Last night when I went to bed. The world was a normal place, and I wake up this morning to find that up to 15 WWE Wrestlers have been released from their contracts, from the main roster. Braun Strowman. Dakota Kai. Shayna Baszler, and. Kayden Karter, and. Katana Chance, had been let go from the company, with a load of names from NXT, such as. Cora Jade. Jakara Jackson, and Xavier Bernal. I know that their was other names as well, it's just that their was a lot of names that were mentioned. My heart goes out to everyone involved, this is the nasty side of the industry that needs to be looked at under a microscope, because in my opinion, it's inhumain, and unworthy, as the contracts of an independant contracted talents needs to held to question, these people are humans, and not pound signs.
Superstars Seen Showing Up.
Randy Orton, Tiffany Stratton. The Miz, and. Damien Priest were seen showing up to the arena, and priest had a scrap with the Temu Bloodline. This morphed into our openin segment.
LA Knight Segment.
LA Knight opened up the show, he stated that he wasn't happy being a No1 Contender, and as a result of how his Match with Drew ended last week he blamed the Temu Bloodline, this was when Damien Priest came out, and both men had a flat promo dual, that centred around all of the usual beats, from Losing at Wrestlemania, playing the blame game, and wait for it. The Temu Bloodline, this led to an impromptu Match, to be the no1 contender for the United States Championship. The Match got thrown out once Solo Sikoa got involved. Jacob Fatu got involved and decided to wreck some fools. I didn't like this. Hang on isn't that Michael Bisping in the crowd, oh wait yes it is, well hey isn't that something. My top 5 takeaways from this weekends UFC Fight Night will be up on this blog tomorrow night. Plug Plug.
Pretty Deadly vs Fraxiom.
Fraxiom, beat those delicous treats Pretty Deadly in a solid TV Match, that reminded of the Golden age of later days Britwres.
Nick Aldis Segment.
Nick Aldis was backstage talking to Michin, and. Bfab, when in stepped the Secret Hervice, and Chelsea Green, who was dressed in black, because she was in a state of loss, because she doesn't have her belt. She asked Nick to book a rematch, but he said we could do that in the future, but tonight Piper Niven will face the champ Zelina Vega, and if she wins then she will become the No1 Contender for the Womens United States Championship. Piper would go on to lose to Zelina, thanks to Chelsea. The Secret Hervice are meant for this world are they.
Nia Jax Segment.
I hated this. Nia's Promo fell into the realm of boring predictability, that turned into a promotrain, including Naomi. Tiffany Stratton, and. Jade Cargill. All of this was terrible badly scripted garbage, that fell flat. Nick Aldis then put all of these ladies in a tag Match at the end of the night, with The Undertaker player. Papa H does love his impromptu Tag Matches doesn't he.
Alistair Black vs The Miz.
I'm so happy to see Alistair Black back in WWE. I'm just going to say this. I liked some of his work in AEW, and I like him in WWE, because tribalism is stupid. Black got the win, and had a stair down with Carmelo Hayes, teasing a tasty looking future Match.
Randy Orton Segment.
I liked this. 25 years of Cena vs Orton, over the broadcast WWE did a good job in paying essence to the history of this rivalry, this was echoed in Randy's promo, because as time has gone by he's seen how Cena has been laudered by fans, whilst his reception amongst his peers was completely differant, this has been reported many times over years in shoot interviews that you can find on Youtube. This was a refreshing way to take a look at family history, under a new creative light. This was excellent, and the best thing on the show.
Rey Fenix vs Santos Escobar.
Rey Fenix, beat. Santos Escobar in a fantastic TV Match, that left me wanting more.
Jade Cargill and Tiffany Stratton vs Nia Jax and Naomi.
I didn't like this, the Match felt clunky, and repetitive. Jade got the win for her team with an awkward looking powerbomb on Nia.
Overview of Friday Night Smackdown.
This was a varied mix-bag filled with things that I liked, and loathed in equal measure. The show goes back to 2hrs in early june, and I can't wait.
This weeks Friday Night Smackdown is a solid 7/10.
